Prices are not clear here though and things will add up. So perhaps ask if you can but you may need your Spanish skills or a translator app depending on which staff is available. I've driven by here for years and never came in. It is a very nice bakery with such a great variety of breads, cakes, cookies and pastries. The service was great, the smell when I exited my car to go inside was delicious. It felt warm and oh so delicious. It's hard to purchase just a few pieces because everything looks amazing. I tried the jalapeño cheese and sausage kolache and it was fantastic. Large sausage wrapped in a wonderful Hawaiian bread tasting roll. OMG, delicious. So moist and fresh. I also bought churros but I haven't eaten them yet. They have a beautiful display of the Virgin Mary as you enter. Very nice representation for the Hispanic community. I believe they have tamales on the weekends and I know those are fantastic because I've had them before at an event I went to. They also have beautiful jello cakes with fruits. They looked amazing. The service has been good through out the years however I purchased a fresaflan (chocoflan but strawberry) and the strawberry cake part tasted so fake. Cake box is better than what I purchased yesterday for fathers day. The fresa cake didnt have texture of a cake, felt like a sponge. The outside of the fresaflan actually looked like cake. My wife likes this place. Gluten gives me tummy troubles so I stay away from it. The fortunate of the unfortunate......I took my wife here and I wanted to try their caramel and pecan topped tres leches cake because it looked so good. I did. It was crazy good. Like the type of crazy good where your eyes roll back into your head and and it was amazing. A little less moist then tres leches cakes I remember trying years ago when gluten wouldn't give me pain. But it was good. Yes I was in pain about a half hour after. But at least it tasted really good. If gluten isn't your thing, stay away. Because you'll end up eating something. Everything smells and tastes delicious. Really good bakery. They sell sweet tamales on Saturday and Sunday only. That is a gluten free option. But everything else is wheat flour based. Pretty much legit fresh baked bolillos and great pan dulce. When you walk in just grab a tray and a set of tongs and pick up the items you want and how many. My favorite thing here is there churros, sugar cinnamon goodness! They have a vast array of pan dulce from conchas to corn muffins to flaky turnovers and jelly rolls. In the refrigerated displays they have an assortment of tres leches, jellos, flan, and cheesecake. They have a station where the staff makes fresh flour and corn tortillas. They even sell tamales. All of their products are fresh. If you want hot fresh bolillos just press a button and dozens come out of the chute! They have an array of milk, sodas, water, and juices. Items are very cheap. Went there cause i figured they had pan dulce. I used to go toTepatitlan on Spencer's Hwy where I fell in love with the pan dulce. Aranda's it turns out is closer to my work place then Tepatitlan is. It's always clean in there and the staff is always friendly. The baked goods are yummy as well. They're not the best, not the worst, but they satisfy that craving. I ordered a cake a few weeks ago and the next day which was on a Saturday , to be ready for pick up at 3 PM and they Didn't even have my cake ready that following day and U paid a deposit over the phone the night before, and ask if I was sure if placed an order. Try their new line of wheat breads and pastries made with agave and aloe vera to reduce sugars and calories. As far as price, each bread ranges anywhere from $0.35 to $1.00. The cakes are pretty good as well. The only thing I'm not crazy about is there flan. I've tried it on several occasions and its bland. This bakery is unsanitary; pretty dang gross to me. I witnessed a person who worked behind the bakery counter sneeze, wipe his mucus nose on his arm and continue to serve customers. He was even sneezing on the baked goods infecting them. Also, you can't get no service here because nobody seems to speak English. It was packed like sardines though. I can't see how they run a business in America without knowing a lick of English. Such a horrible disgusting bakery. They should at least hire someone who knows English. I wasn't impressed. The service was as lackluster as the storefront. While they have quite a variety of baked goods, the setup is a bit dank. The poor girl in the tortilleria appears as though she may be dripping a secret ingredient into the tortillas due to the arid in store temperature. The security guard was probably the nicest person in the store and he only said hello and goodbye. Their strawberry tres leches was ok...nothing I would die for if I did not taste it again. I went in for the tequila tres leches, but that was not available so I was extremely disappointed. The other treats I got were as lackluster as the store itself. I ended up throwing the piggie gingerbread cookies away after tasting them. They barely had and ginger and even less flavor. My favorite churros in town!!! Their churros are crispy on outside and soft inside. Seriously addictive. Traditional Mexican bakery so grab a plate and tongs and stock up. They also have a great guava pastry and do a better than average job labeling their treats for those not familiar with the wide array of Mexican treats. The conchas are also worth a trip. These three easy steps will help any gringo navigate this pastry adventure with ease. Setting: a big room with cases all around the perimeter, and a counter in the middle. Step one: go over to the side and grab a metal tray, and a pair of tongs. Step two: Survey the cases. They are more or less organized in categories, like "donuts and cookies" "break" "assorted pastries" "juice" and "cakes." There are usually labels with prices and a few pictures above each case, but they are all in Spanish, and there are never enough labels for all the things in the case, so just grab what looks good and plop it on your tray. When your tray is full, or you have finished selecting goodies proceed to step three. Step three: Take your tray and join the queue around the central counter. As you check out, they will load your pastries into bags, and tally up your total. Pay at the register, step outside, and munch. I loved the bread but the flavor has been changing lately, it seems that they use more water and less milk products. I also USED to love their gelatins until I had the following issue more than 3 times: Milk gelatins go bad quick and apparently nobody checks them often. I have asked at least 3 persons how do they know when they prepared gelatins, when are they due (they must have a caducity date), how often do they replace them for new ones and no one has been able to answer my questions. I actually told one of the ladies to speak about this issue to her manager before health department is called and she just shrugged her shoulders and smirked :/ Since father passed away, the quality has been going down. Love this bakery! I had no idea what I was selecting (as there are NO labels whatsoever), but everything was delicious. I'm sure the store clerks would have told me if I had asked as they were very friendly. Grab a tray and load up. There are also no prices, but everything is very inexpensive so don't worry about it. Also, their flan is amazing! And I think I am going to go back just to try every type of tres leches! It's a little noisy, so don't expect to eat there. That's the only drawback, which is very minor. I LOVE that you can get a tray, a pair of tongs, and load up on whatever you choose. My wife ordered a birthday cake from Arandas. We went to pick it up yesterday. The young man at the counter who greeted us had just dropped a pair of tongs on the floor. This is just an average bakery. They have all of the staples that you would expect from a Mexican bakery, although they do have fairly decent kolaches in the morning. They are different from the other kolaches in the area as they have jalapeños and cheese in the sausage. This allows them to use less dough than a certain donut shop up the street. I also must admit, there is something magical about getting a churro at 7am. Typical of the style of bakery, the donuts are less sweet than normal using a higher cacao frosting making it a bit more bitter , which I like. They also have reasonably priced tamales that are more than exceptional of you are trying to take the edge off of the hangover you earned the night before. They also have a pretty big beverage cooler that is well stocked. Stop in and grab a churro and kolaches, and some tamales with a chocolate milk. Maybe a donut. read more

This is my favorite bakery in the Houston area, it's a family owned business, and the level of customer service they provide makes you feel like part of the family every time you come in. I generally come about twice a week, the kolaches are amazing! I have recommend this place to numerous friends and family, and they ever disappoint.
