I came to this bakery a couple of times and I have to say the customer service is very poor. The lady at the front counter seem very annoyed by me and was trying to rush me to choose my pastries, even though I was the only one there. This is the closest bakery to me that sells Ponchik so i will come in every once in awhile for that, It's yummy but I wish they had more flavor options. They could also definitely work on their customer service but overall not a horrible experience. read more

Worst place ever!!!!! My wife bought a cake for a special occasion and they gave her the wrong cake. When she went back to let them know what had happen, they told her it was her fault for not checking what was she taking!!!!! How the heck do you check a cake that is covered with icing!!!!! Even though I visit the store rarely; I like their products. However, there is a big sign on the entrance door that no one can miss .. it states " NO MASK, NO ENTRY". I went in the other day and there was a young lady as customer, wearing no mask. She was being served by the Bakery employee. I brought up to the employee that she is violating - at the least -the sign by not wearing a mask. As I was walking away from her, I noticed she went to the back of the store and brought out a mask for the customer... the customer wore it. But then the employee falsely stated to me that the girl had her mask in her pocket all this time .....HMMM... The employee started to complain about wearing the mask because she said she can not breath comfortably in it and that she thinks it is non-sense to wear a mask and just washing hands will suffice. I work for Healthcare industry (Microbiologist) so tried to explain it to her but she would insist on her beliefs. There is also room for improvement for their customer service with a smile, politeness, and down to earth personality. Believe it or not customer service goes a long way. read more

They destroyed a birthday cake and wouldn't take responsibility. Customer service is non-existent!!! They decided to change the order completely because they did not have the supplies. When we picked up the cake it was a real surprise. They never confirmed with us about any of the changes to the cake design (which was horrible). Also, they did not have a box for the cake and wanted me to carry out food without covering. It took some arguing before they used their little brains to make a box. I'm so disappointed at this bakery we have brought pastries from here a few times and honestly there always seem old and not fresh I guess we have given this place a few chances more. But this last time did it for us! We were heading to a friends house so we stop to by a rollet which is similar to a cake that has fresh fruit on it and sometime in it as well. Well after we got to our friends house we open the box to see mole on the strawberry and the custard of the cream was bitter it was disgusting and embarrassing as well because I was a guest. I called them frustrated telling them how this was unacceptable that they should not sell such an item and make sure before handing to an customer to overlook what they sell. Her solution was to bring it back unfortunately I was all the way in reseda and it was out of my way to head back. I took it back the next morning I wanted to speak to the owner I left my number and yet has he called me they gave my $12.00 back and I left. This place has. I costumer service skills I asked to speak to the manager and they gave it to a women that's been the longest worker there whatever that's suppose to mean. Irresponsible .As a business owner myself and being in retail for more than five years I perfectly know if something is your fault you have to make your customer happy when you send them out.My order was not ready at the time of request (the cook did not show up )They didn't even bother to inform me via the number I left.on top of everything they are trying to upsell and charge me for something that I didn't want from the first place.Instead of solving their own problem I'm told to hurry because they are busy ,in a very rude manner cause I refused to take their instant made up cake . read more

Worst customer service and really rude also. I purchased a few slices of cake and sweets for dessert unfortunately when I got home and took a few bites the cake was really dry. Also their sweets aren't even sweet. The red velvet doesn't even taste like red velvet and the cream cheese tasted like whip cream. When it was time to pay for my order the lady added a few dollars and thought I wouldn't notice. When I confronted her about it she said she added it and it was right. So I stepped back and added every single item I ordered even calculated the tax and she still refused to change it. I didn't want to hold up the line so I just paid. Went to Crazy Hot Wings earlier in the day and saw this place. So I was out later in the evening and decided to stop by. I only wanted a couple pieces of cake. So I ordered the cake and the lady behind the counter went to grab them. There was another customer in the bakery looking at the tarts in the cooler. The customer asked a question and the lady IMMEDIATELY stopped helping me and went to the lady. Not sure why she didn't tell the lady I'll be right with you, or have someone else help her. Poor customer service. I ordered a character cake and the lady taking the order said they didn't have the character toy to put on the cake and for that reason, they would charge me less. It made sense to me and I bought the toy myself. The day I am supposed to pick up the cake, another lady tells me that I have to pay the full price ans it's just a toy that's missing, no big deal. They must be confused about the whole theme cake point because the whole point of the character cake is the toy. They charged me the full price anyways for the incomplete cake that costed me more than I could order anywhere else. Honestly, it was disappointing to do such business with people who have no consideration for the cutomer and are irresponsible. You don't do business like that becuase if you haven't done your side of the deal, you shouldn't expect the customer pay as if it were complete. If I can give this place no stars trust me I would. Where do I even begin with this place. First of, I only go to this bakery for the barbari bread and everytime I leave regretting that I was there! I don't understand the concept of expanding your business making it look nice and yet your customers have to come and stand in line for 45 min for bread! What kind of stupidity is that. You can stand in line for 45 min and when your turn comes they will say we have no more barbari! I went before to your old store and always like your pastry . Now you moved to your new store next door and I have to tell you it is very beautiful . But I bought 6 pieces of pastries , every one of them different , but all of them were filled with same kind of white cream , not even real whipped cream , so result was they all tasted the same , Canolli with that did not even remind me of italian canolli . Amazing pastries. You gotta get them fresh and then eat them. I don't think they use a lot of preservatives because if you don't eat them right away and then let them sit they can get stale. So eat them fresh! I've had the bread too - fantastic bread. read more

So far I've been impressed by everything I have bought from Ararat Bakery- their pastries, food, and even my baby shower cake that they custom made for me! I have gone to this Bakery at least once a week for 10 years as I take cakes and cookies to clients. I will never go again !!!!! The new remodel is beautiful but they should have spent some time on Customer service.. I waited in line for my turn as there was a line. When it was my turn the clerk asked me what I needed and I answered a box of cookies . A man who arrived at least 5 min. after me spoke to her in Armenian and she stopped waiting on me and went in the back and got him bread. The second man went to the front of the line and spoke to her, again in Armenian, and again she went to the back and got him his bread. I asked her if she was taking care of him instead of me even though I was next and she said yes. I'm not Armenian and I'm a women so I guess I have two strikes against me, too many to EVER take my business back to this Bakery. read more

I had a horrible experience today when my brother-in-law and I decided to visit this bakery. We were looking for sweet bread when a woman appeared and asked us in a very rude form, "What you want?" I told her that we were just looking for bread. She went to the rear part of the store and she returned 2 minutes later, asking the same question. I think that she and the another woman who works there thought we wanted to steal from her. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. We felt discriminated against. We will never be returning to this store. So sad that we didn't get to enjoy our first experience at this bakery. read more

STAY AWAY! Majority of their pastries are old, spoiled, and/or moldy. I know it's one of the only Armenian bakeries in town but they are definitely taking full advantage of that. I ordered a strawberry napoleon one time and it was stale + the strawberry on top was moldy?? YUCK. Not to mention another time when I bought a dozen eclairs just to nring them home & find out the custard in them was sour because it was spoiled. Ararat's service is not impressive either. The girls working always act like their job is a chore for them and don't even crack a little smile while tending to the customers. Not only is their Dark Coffee a winner but the owner is a fantastic cake designer. Now when I say designer I mean that literally..
