I don't like this bakery. They are such a lier. I paid for a walnut gata and they forgot to put it in my bag. Once I noticed they didn't put it in my bag, I called them and I told them what happened, and they told me I can come back tomorrow, show the recipe, and get it. My husband went to pick it up after, and he showed the recipe, but they declined and said they could not trust us. read more

The best bakery! We stopped by , but now we come here all the time! The custard-filled donuts are amazing--large in size with an incredible cream. The potato pies are made with real potatoes, not too mushy and not overly salty. The pastries are delicious as well. The staff is very polite and fast. You can quickly buy everything in about 5 minutes and leave -- no need to wait 20 minutes for your order to be prepared. There are tables outside where you can sit. read more

Last time 3 years ago I gave a 5 star review but I can't this time, sorry... I ordered a cake for my BD on Oct 2025, from Classic Venice bakery (Foothill) like I have always done for the last 3 years, since Oct 2022. In some years I had ordered 3 or 4 times a year. Because I loved how they made it, just the way I asked. I drove 2 hours to go to their shop, I live far away(Temecula), to my surprise the cake was a lot smaller. Later I looked up all my old pics of Venice Pastries throughout years, I was assured again that this cake was smaller, in fact one layer shorter ! The cake was not moist and the custard was also was more liquid-y than in the past. So my order wasn't done correctly. Next day I called the lady at the store and she said Artin (the owner) said he did everything correctly, just like in the past. I sent as many pics I could find since Nov 2022, to prove my point. Artin personally called me back and he adamantly believed he did everything correctly, he didn't believe the cake was any smaller, but eventually he agreed that the cake has less layers and that's because the cake layers were "thicker" this time, that's why they decided not to add that other layer anymore because it would've been too tall ! So that means they reduced not only a layer of the cake but also a layer of the custard too, compared to the past. I didn't want to discuss any further. He wouldn't agree that it was their part to make the cake shorter. To be fair he offered to make me another one to replace it, but this whole thing didn't feel right to me & I did not feel putting myself down to accept another one. He also said he can't guarantee this won't happen again, which made me think that this new inconsistency, which we never had in the past 3 years, might possibly happen again. I didn't want to go through this issue again. So I'm seriously thinking maybe I should, reluctantly, part ways with them, and start looking for a new pastry store for our cakes. Although the pastries were good, I don't know what's worse..the fact that nothing in the store had a price tag, or the dismissive attitude I received when I asked why. Instead of a reasonable explanation, I was treated as though it was rude to even question their methods. Expecting customers to ask the price of every single item is both inconvenient and unprofessional. read more

Potato Peroshki is very oily. You literally only taste the oil not the potato, and not even sure what type of oil they fry it in. I would give it a zero if possible. Very nasty. read more

My family and I have been HUGE supporters of this bakery since it opened it La Crescenta. During the years, I had experienced other customers called ahead of me and I kind of let it slide because I know how busy it could get. But this past weekend was the breaking straw. I had several customers called ahead of me and when I asked the spoke and asked why, the lady behind the counter said something in their native tongue to the owner. The owner comes directly to me and says "there are many Mexican bakeries in area, you don't have to come here". Take in mind, I'm not Mexican but I am Hispanic. From the owners mouth directly! This is sad. Sad and disappointing. No remorse just straight racism. I know loosing our support won't make a dent in your pocket. But I hope you have some empathy and can sleep at night acknowledging what you said. Remember this country belongs to no one. read more

Was at a friends house and someone brought an amazing dessert made with Jello. Looked like Jello cake so this past weekend I went on a mission to find out where this jello cake came from. I looked up all bakeries in La Crescenta and drove into each one looking for the Jello cake. As I was looking inside Venice Classic Pastry this wonderful lady approaches me and asked if I needed help. I told her what I was looking for and she said I know what you're talking about and asked me to wait while she went to the back kitchen. She walks out a few minutes later with the magical Jello cake I had been looking for up and down the street thru many bakeries! When I told her this was exactly it she had me wait as she was going to bring me one with more creme and fresh. Her service was truly 5 star experience! I went home as I was having guest over and everyone raved about this Jello cake, it was very hard to share definitely will be back to buy more. Not a very good picture but I believe it's some sort of jello with Russian crème and fresh fruit. The only thing that was unnecessary was the fruit in the middle covered in some super sweet gooey jam but you can remove it easily and enjoy the jello creme and fruit cake. read more

I went in two days before my daughters birthday and asked for a unicorn + dragon cake and was blown away by what Venice Classic Pastry created! The cake was absolutely stunning and everyone that works there was incredibly helpful. They were the most reasonably priced and matched the picture that I brought in (I went to 6 other places). They make one of the best fruit tarts in the neighborhood. I've lived here for 10+ years and my family always stops by when we need dessert. I personally love their Yerevan Nazook. It's so yummy! Think of it as a sweet morning pastry to have with your cup of coffee. It has a crunchy texture on the inside. Pro-tip is to go in the morning when these are baked fresh. Their raisin cookies are also delicious. Sometimes you might encounter a longer wait time but I've found the service to be satisfactory. I bought a large chocolate cake for my boss's birthday to celebrate with our coworkers and was so ashamed to find that the cake was old. Such a shame to keep and sell old pastry. You will be losing clients. I will never go back to your store. I called the next day and spoke to the person who had sold the cake to me. She did apologize and asked me to bring the cake back. Whenever we have a family celebration I always pick up either a beautifully designed cake that they already have in the refrigerator or I pick up individual pastries that are artistically designed. I wanted to support a local, small business in the neighborhood and came here by whim to buy a birthday cake for my coworker. I ended up getting a lovely fruit tart. It was very reasonably priced at $16 and comfortably fed 8 people. I asked for a bday sign which they made but it melted in the time from driving from the bakery to my house. (See attached picture.) I sort of wish I didn't get the sign since the fruit and the cake itself were really lovely and glazed without it! The fruit was delicious and the pastry/crust was thick. The bakery has a pretty large assortment of cookies, cakes, little desserts etc. I also think there's a deli section attached, which I didn't explore. I've been coming to Venice Bakery ever since I moved into the area. Every time I've gotten pastries from them, I've gotten nothing but compliments. Their cakes are beautiful and tasty. Their pastries are addicting. Staff? Always been so helpful and kind. They also have a market attached in case you want to do a full qualify one stop shop. Their cakes though...I look forward to my next visit/event. I've been looking forward to visiting close ones and bringing them goodies from here just so I can see what beautiful and tasty cakes and pastries Venice has created. I've been so pleased for so many years with the quality of their food and service, I'm so thankful they are in business in bathroom area. Thank you, Venice Bakery, for setting the bar so high for me and making my taste buds happy all these years.
