This review is based on take out for Thanksgiving. I placed an order for a Turkey , some sides and salads for Thanksgiving day. Per their advertisement their turkeys were priced $80-120$. Upon placing the order I asked numerous time how big the the Turkey will be and I said I would like the biggest Turkey , and I mentioned I Am ordering food for approximately 12 people. Arevik said oh ya don't worry the Turkey will be close to 18lbs. Before I hung up with her I even asked her is this going to be enough food for 12 people she assured me it would be more than enough. When I went in to pick up my order and what I got was a Turkey in a size of a chicken. I wish I took a picture. It was so small that it fit in those medium sized aluminum pans and was covered perfectly with the aluminum foil. I honestly am not one to argue and fight so I didn't say anything. As mentioned I also had ordered several other sides including veggies and salads The food I picked up would be good for 6-7 people. The eggplant rolls were literally just 10 of them lol. It was a joke. The fingerling potatoes and rice which we all know is the least costly thing was in a medium sized plate. Anyway I was very upset but this thanksgiving wasn't one we were celebrating and I had no energy to speak up. I will not be ordering from them again. If you are advertising something please keep your name high and stick to what was advertised. When I got there she tried to overcharge me but realized maybe that's not a good idea I'm assuming. For someone who has worked at a restaurant for so long and knows very well about what Armenians mean when we say we want enough food , it was very , very. Very disappointing. I truly wish I took pictures of all the portions so the owner could see what they are giving to their customers. I would rather her tell me it will cost me $700 for 12 people and I would decide if that fits my budget or not than making us look like a fool with the portions she gave us. Overall it cost me 340$ but again this was good enough for 6 people honestly. read more

I've been here many times for girls night out and for birthday celebrations and have had positive experiences each times. Good music, nice ambiance, friendly staff, good hookah and delicious food. What more can I ask for? This is a great to host a birthday dinner as there's a good size dance floor and fully stocked bar. read more

Absolute embarrassment of a restaurant. How can you charge me over $664.62 for 1 large plate of beef and chicken, one medium pan of rice and two sides of salad ? You people love to take money for undeserved service. Don't use COVID as a reason to ruin your reputation. I have posted the pictures for everyone to see how much of a rip off this was. My credit card was charged WITHOUT my authorization of the charge, I was not told that I was going to be charged an extra $164.62. after I was charged $500.00 so a total of $664.62. Shame on you and your lies. By the way the company just called me and only asked me to update the charge on my Yelp review. They don't care about anything, only their reviews on their Yelp. Celebrated my husbands 30th bday here and it was just perfect! The food is amazing the ambiance is suitable for everyone. They have both inside and outdoor. ThE HOOKAH A1! I just celebrated my birthday at Ararat restaurant this past Saturday and I am so glad I chose to spend it there! Not only did they have great live Armenian and Russian music that my family loved, the food was delicious, and the owner was very accommodating for specific diets! I had mentioned that a few of us were vegan so that they would keep the vegan food away from the meat products, which they did, but the owner was kind enough to have the kitchen make special appetizers/salads that were vegan for us. It was a nice surprise to have so many vegan options at an Armenian restaurant! All of the food was absolutely delicious and the service was great! They even had a table on the side for us to have my cake, flowers, and gifts on! To add to the fun, after we were done having our dinner and dance inside, we went outside and enjoyed some hookah! My grandmother and her friend were recommended this restaurant when they asked someone where to go for dinner. They were visting LA on 9/5 and were at the restaurant around 6pm. The service and food all left a salty taste in their mouths. They ordered 2 cokes but were only given one, they ordered 2 of the lule dinner plate but were only given 1. When my grandmother told them they had ordered 2 plates the server only brought them the additional meat, not the full dinner plate. The server was rude, did not listen to them, and were giving them rude looks. They did not feel comfortbale being there, as if they were less than or not welcomed. It would be one thing if at least the food was good, but the lule was salty and dry. Being Armenian she knows good food when served it. I planned an event for 30 people and sue to some problems I had to change my venue 24hrs before the event. I called Ararat and was helped by Arevik, who happened to be one of the best and most polite managers I ever dealt with. She was very professional and on top of everything. The waiters were also very nice gentlemen. I even had the pleasure to meet the owner who was very humble. So the food!!! Yummm!!! I had never had such delicious filet mignon bbq in my life. 3 pieces of meat without any sides, just those pieces for $19.99? that's a robbing. We ordered it because we thought it is 3 skewers, since what is on the picture simply doesn't make sense. Also this Lily manager is the rudest, we asked her why portion is so small and she started showing attitude, we told her that we want to send it away and she said she can take it but we will need to pay? She was yelling in anger, what is this? She almost fought us, that's hilarious. Are you professional or who? This is so disappointing, I'm disgusted by the Lily lady the most. I simply don't know what to say, this place is so messed up. This place needs to close down. Or bring back The old Maran establishment. The manager verbally abused at least two of the 3 server employees who were actually doing a good job (under the circumstances of having too many tables to serve). She was horrible. When the birthday cake came out, she had jumped in to "help" serve and gently tossed the cake plate on top of my dinner plate which still had some food on it. Forks? No new forks, you get to eat the desert with the same fork that you just ate fish with. No class! What put me over the edge is that she slammed the kitchen door open with her foot (while bringing some other dish) and hit my 6 year-old, and had the audacity to tell us "I told you to pay attention to your kid (to keep this area clear)" They had sat us next to the kitchen door and it would be impossible to avoid that as the door gets SLAMMED open 178 times during the time you are there. First time we visited restaurant ARARAT and we were surprised how super it was there. The manager welcomed us so warm and gave us wonderful service. The waiters were awesome, every time they appeared and gave us the best service. We enjoyed live music dance a lot and enjoyed hookah at the lounge area. I had a party on June 16 here. This place followed all the social distance requirements with letting as to have an amazing party within our family. Our family was sitting at a party at this restaurant, first they wanted to sit as apart but when they learned we live together they left us to sit together, but still at least 6 feet apart from others. This restaurant never failed with providing us with great service and good food. If you like Armenian music than there is no doubt this is your place to party. It is a social issues conscious place that strives to proved a great service. Do not miss it , especially if you like to smoke hookah ina private and luxurious environment.
