I recently visited Pardis in Glendale and had an absolutely incredible experience. Everything from the ambiance to the food was spot on. The Venue: The space is beautiful, immaculately clean, and the tables and chairs give it a genuinely elevated feel. They have a fantastic "outdoor" seating area in the back. I say "outdoor" because it's completely covered, meaning you get a great breeze while staying completely protected from the sun during the day or the draft on a chilly evening. They even had a TV set up back there for the World Cup matches, which was an awesome touch. The Service: The customer service here is top-notch. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. I had a few questions about the menu, and they were happy to walk me through the items with genuine enthusiasm--I never felt rushed or like I was annoying them. I also had a chance to chat with Arman (who I believe is the owner), and he could not have been more pleasant or hospitable. The Food: Absolutely amazing. I like to test a place on the basics first, because if a restaurant can't nail the fundamentals, they can't nail anything. Pardis crushed it. The hummus and pita were perfect--the pita was uniquely crispy and flaky. The Koobideh kebab was spectacular: incredibly moist and juicy without being undercooked. Accompanied by great rice and perfectly grilled tomato and pepper sides, it was a flawless meal. Highly recommend Pardis if you're looking for fantastic food and a welcoming, upscale yet comfortable atmosphere. I come here all the time and have brought many friends and family over the years. I was just here with my friends last week. Unfortunately, this was the first time I've had such a disappointing experience with a server. Our server, Mario, completely got our order wrong. He brought out four huge plates of rice for a table of four, along with several meat dishes that we never ordered. One of the meats he brought is something I never order, so I know for a fact the order was mixed up. It made no sense to bring that much rice with all the extra food. The biggest issue wasn't the mistake. It was how Mario handled it. When I politely brought it to his attention, instead of trying to fix the situation, he became defensive, insisted he hadn't made a mistake, gave us attitude, and walked away without offering a solution. A simple apology and an effort to correct the order would have gone a long way. He also never came back to refill our drinks until we asked. We were the only table in the garden area, yet we barely received any service. Thankfully, the server from the other section stepped in and took great care of us. I didn't catch his name, but he helped make the situation much better. I've always enjoyed coming here, but this experience with Mario really changed my perspective on the restaurant. I hope management addresses this because this is not the level of service I've come to expect here. read more

JUST A LITTLE UPDATE ================== Details: Had dinner with two friends on Sunday, November 9, 2025. We took them to Pardis because we raved about it and they had never been there before. Unfortunately, a couple of the dishes didn't taste as good as usual. We were comped on olovieh which is the minced chicken salad. The gheymeh didn't taste as good as usual either, but we did not complain. It's like they used too much cinnamon and not enough lime. My husband can cook any of those dishes, so he knows how they are supposed to taste. We will go back again, but we'll definitely talk to the server if the dishes don't taste right. Note: If you want to book the private room that seats twelve the minimum charge is $700. That amounts to $58.33 per person based on twelve plus tax and tip. In the old days they did not have a minimum charge for the room. read more

Glendale, CA - Great food, ambiance and service. Highly recommend the chicken and lamb chops. Juicy and flavorful. The yogurt and cucumber dip was also very good with the pita. I was hoping there would be more saffron in the rice. The rice was mostly white. Nice restaurant with an upscale feel to it, tablecloth and proper setting. I love how they round tables for easy food sharing. Plenty of parking in their private lot. I liked it but just not sure if the price justified it. The food was delicious but I wouldn't say it's anything unique that I couldn't get in other more affordable Persian restaurants. **1-Star Review: Total Rip-Off - Bug Crawling on My Onion at Pardis! DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!** I placed an order from Pardis today expecting decent quality for the insane five-star restaurant prices they're charging--$30+ entrees and everything marked up like it's fine dining. The food itself was actually okay, decent flavor and not bad overall... until I spotted it. A disgusting bug was sitting right on top of the onion in my dish. Not hidden in sauce, not "maybe it's seasoning"--clearly visible, legs and all, just chilling on the fresh onion like it owned the place. I nearly threw up on the spot. For that kind of money, I expect spotless hygiene, not a pest-infested surprise that ruins the entire meal. This isn't a minor oops--this is straight-up negligence. I'm still grossed out hours later. I've already started a chargeback with my bank and I'm filing a report with the health department first thing tomorrow. Save your money. Pardis is charging luxury prices for food that comes with free bugs. Hard pass. Never again. 0/10. Stay far away. read more

When this restaurant first opened, the food was pretty good, the service was attentive, and the overall experience felt enjoyable. Unfortunately, over time, the quality has declined significantly. We recently brought guests visiting from another country here, expecting a great experience, and it ended up being embarrassing and disappointing. Despite the restaurant having many empty tables, we waited over 30 minutes to be seated while staff made no effort to accommodate our group by rearranging tables. Once seated, the service was extremely disorganized. Drinks were simply dropped at the edge of the table instead of being served properly, and a glass of wine I ordered never arrived. Appetizers came after the main dishes, tea never came at all, yet we were still charged for it. The food quality was below average. The rice was undercooked, the onions and greens served at the table looked wilted and old, and overall nothing tasted fresh. Even simple details, like serving butter with the bread, were missing. The restaurant felt cheap and poorly managed compared to what it once was. What made the experience even more frustrating was that gratuity was automatically included without it being clearly communicated. The level of service we received did not justify a forced gratuity. Overall, the restaurant seemed chaotic and unorganized despite not being busy. It's disappointing to see how far this place has declined. The quality of the food at this wonderful restaurant matches its ambiance, offering an excellent Persian dining experience. We were warmly greeted and promptly served for lunch. The menu features many classic Persian staples including appetizers, kabobs, stews and rice dishes. What sets Pardis apart are the lesser known yet incredibly flavorful options, such as Zeytoon Parvardeh (a tangy and savory appetizer made of olives, pomegranate, walnuts, and herbs), Tahchin (a saffron and yogurt rice cake with chicken), and Chicken Torsh (grilled chicken marinated in walnut purée and pomegranate sauce). Complimentary hot homemade bread was served with herbs and onion. From the start, we were impressed with their bread as it was warm and delicious. For appetizers we ordered Tahdig (crispy rice) with two of the most popular stews: ghormeh sabzi and ghaymeh. Both stews were slightly tangy, which we loved. The tahdig was perfectly crispy and complemented the pronounced flavors of the stews beautifully. We also tried the Koobideh skewers, which came with rice, grilled tomato and pepper. These large ground beef skewers were juicy, tender, and served hot. The Shish Kabob was also tender and juicy, though it lacked the depth of flavor I had hoped for. The highlight, however was the Chicken Torsh--perhaps the juiciest grilled chicken I've ever had. The pomegranate sauce adds a bright, sour note while the walnuts add a rich earthy undertone. It was outstanding!! Don't forget to try the house doogh (a yogurt and mint drink); it is served icy cold and is fantastic. We came on a Saturday night and they had the entire table set up and ready for us. The service was good and they brought everything that we asked for. I had never seen before as an option at a persian restaurant - chicken barg. Naturally, I had to order it and asked for zereshk polo for my rice. They put SOOO much zereshk (see photo). I loooved their food. Mast o Moosir was also delicious. Salad Shirazi could've used some salt. Overall, the restaurant was beautiful and food was fantastic. I'd totally come back. read more

This is a nice upscale Persian restaurant. "Bob" our server provided outstanding dinner service through our entire meal. Food was good, we ordered 4 mains and 3 appetizers for our party of 5. Since we were sharing they asked if we'd like the dishes served family style. We ordered: Mast Moosir - this was very light and could have used more shallots. Kashk e Bademjan - they serve it with a healthy sprinkling of fried caramelized onions on top. Not the best I've ever had but good. Zeytoon Parvardeh - this is the BEST of this dish that I've ever eaten. The got this one RIGHT, highly recommend! Koobideh- really light and fluffy, very juicy with good flavor. Not overly charred like some other places. Chicken Barg - juicy white meat chicken with a nice light char. Zereshk Polo - they sprinkled the barberries over one corner of the rice and called it a day. This will probably sound pettily weird but I MIGHT have enjoyed it more if they had mixed it. There's a small parking lot adjacent to the restaurant. There's a back patio but it was too California cold to even try it. I'll be back in the spring to sit on that patio and enjoy other dishes. read more

A very disappointing experience, in comparison to the other reviews. I did personally call to let the manager know how dissatisfied I was with the [take-out] order. For a $49 plate (KASEH KABOB) I was amazed to see the portion--it was not only laughable but also insulting for the price they gauged. Not only that, the inconsideration to the condiments was also a minus. I expect this kind of service from a newly opened cafe on a very busy day, but not from a "well-established" place. No sumac, no butter, no chopped onion/parsley, utensils, or even napkins. I'm glad I didn't place my party package order to be embarrassed by the service. They put beef in it and argued with us when it clearly states that it is vegetarian on the menu. They then argued with us and refused to replace the dish and wanted us to drive it back to them.
