We had a mess to clean up from storm damage! Our MIL's tree had 2 large limbs snap off during a bad storm. 1 went West into the neighbor's yard and smashed a section of fence. The other went North breaking another neighbor's fence, clipping their garage and smashing a section of rain gutter. Both limbs were 12 " in diameter from the break and 40-50 ft long. Arbor Barber had been on our block previously doing some work for a neighbor and they did a great job. I gave them a call and Tim, the head guy, was able to stop by that afternoon to assess the job and give us a bid. We were so happy to learn he could get it done the next day. The team arrived the next morning and knocked out the project before Noon. They had to remove the debris by hand as we didn't have any easy access for equipment. They were so respectful and tidy. Shout out to Arbor Barber from Lakeville. We woke up to a huge part of our Maple tree torn off and crashed in to our neighbors Pine tree. I called him at 6:40 am and not only did he answer his phone, said he would be out as soon as he could. Fast forward to 8:30am. He is here, trims up the mess and gets it off my neighbors tree. At 9:40 am his clean up crew arrives and does such a good job, I can hardly tell what a mess was there just a few hours before. Fastest service ever, great work, amazing clean up and for less than half of what I thought it would cost. He also quoted me a very reasonable fee to remove the tree in case it does not survive the damage. We hired him to trim our 2 trees in the front yard last year, and were very impressed. Today really blew me away. For those of you who had tree damage, or just need tree work done, I highly recommend this company. read more

I have hired Arbor Barber a few times, and they always did a great job on the work. Dealing with Vitaly was a bit difficult, as he did not like to commit to giving a date for the service to be done. The last time I hired him, he did about 80% of the work, but then never came back to finish it. I had not paid him, but was planning to do so after the work had been completed. I called, left messages. I wrote a letter, informing him that he had not been paid, and that I wanted to have him finish and get paid, but no response from Vitaly. Weird. read more

I had a mixed experience with Arbor Barbers. I needed some tall maple trees trimmed. The company was very responsive to my request for an estimate, came out immediately, and quoted me a fair price. After I decided to hire them, they scheduled the work within 10 days. On the morning of the trimming, a large work crew for the size of the job (maybe half-dozen workers) showed up early with equipment (lift, log loader). So far, so good. However, the first red flag was that the crew seemed to have received no information about the job they were hired for. Once I repeated what I needed, they got right to work and did a great job. Took about an hour and a half and they were done. They did exactly as I asked, and they even cleaned up the ground beneath the trees better than it had been. The second red flag came when I took a few minutes to watch the crew. The crew member running the log loader, on multiple occasions while I watched, was moving this equipment in and around my house while looking down at his phone! He did this at least 4 times (that I saw), moving in both forward and reverse. The last time he started backing out into traffic! I went outside and asked for the supervisor -- I was told there was none on the job (?) I told the crew member what I had seen and he immediately went and talked to the young man on the log loader who stopped the behavior. I did not find any damage to my house, car, or lawn because of this. However, it seemed to be a pretty big safety issue, so after the job was over, I called the owner to let him know what had happened. And here was the third red flag. The owner apologized but then said essentially he couldn't control the behavior of his crew when he wasn't around...in other words, he didn't take any responsibility as the owner of the company for the professionalism of his crew, not even when it involved a safety concern. Really? As a supervisor myself, I can think of several things to do to change the conduct of a crew member. So my review of the company is mixed. They were responsive and the work done was done well (Grade: A) but the professionalism and safety concerns around moving equipment was seriously lacking (Grade: D). I said I'd hire them again because of the quality of the work, but if I did, I would feel the need to watch them carefully while they worked -- I would not leave them work on my property without being present. read more

Awful service, I contracted them to cut down and remove a tree in Mound, MN. They demanded payment up front, I paid. They cut the tree down and left it there. It has been 3 weeks and they have not returned my phone calls. My landscaper has given me a quote of $800 to remove the tree and I am going to take Arbor Barber to small claims over this I am so angry. read more
