As you may know if you consistently watch the San Diego news, a couple of weeks ago a main burst two blocks from our apartment under the park near the water tower in North Park. It was a complete and utter you-know-what show. The flooding had started at 3 am (but to our sleeping ears it was just rain). We woke up at 5:30 am, came downstairs and stepped in a foot of water. Our entire downstairs was flooded. We called the after hours emergency services and he informed us that it wasn't just us, is was the entire neighborhood. After walking outside and seeing a news crew on our street, we realized this was a big deal. Ranica (the manager)'s apartment was flooded as well, but she put her tenants first above and beyond. It was amazing. I know that she needed to clear out her stuff and move to a hotel like we all did, but she stayed in the office all day answering our questions and helping us sort out our situation. Our handyman is equally amazing - before the flood he fixed anything we needed within a day of us requesting and after and during the flood he is just constantly there being supportive and answering the questions about the work being done when we go to check our mail. The unit is older and has some quirks but the price is right compared to the area around it. We absolutely love our little townhouse and the location is truly unbeatable. I miss North Park like crazy while I'm displaced by this flood (we're currently living in a hotel in Kearny Mesa) and can't wait to move back home!!!!

The neighbors are genuinely friendly and always quick to offer help when someone posts in the internal chat. It's a young, energetic community that makes you feel welcome. Management has also been responsive when needed. The break-ins to the bike area were resolved (although a little late), and they promptly addressed the issue when one of the garage doors broke down. I was visiting a friend with my six-month-old baby and my service dog. When we arrived, we parked in a lot clearly marked for guest and resident parking. A woman at the front desk informed my husband that we could not park there because it was not guest parking and that we either needed to park on the street or have the resident reserve a space. I went back to the front desk and pointed out that the signage did not state that. Rather than simply clarifying the policy, the employee immediately became confrontational and insisted that it was "their policy." I suggested that, if that was the policy, the signage should be made more specific so visitors would not be confused. I was also told that the vehicle could be tagged and potentially towed. What made the situation feel particularly targeted was that there were other vehicles parked in the surrounding spaces, yet my vehicle was singled out shortly after I questioned the unclear signage and suggested that it be updated. I walked away and waited for my friend to come downstairs so that she could make the required reservation and show us where we were supposed to park. Less than five minutes later, while I was still waiting, the same employee walked past me and told me that she had tagged my car and that I needed to move it or it would be towed. My friend came downstairs shortly afterward. She asked the employee for clarification, made the reservation, and we moved the car as instructed. Despite doing exactly what we were told to do, approximately 30 minutes later my friend received a notification with a photo of my vehicle stating that it was improperly parked and that she had been charged. We went downstairs to address the issue. At that point, the employee claimed she did not know what had happened, despite having personally told me that she had tagged the vehicle. She then told my friend that I had said I "would not move the car," which was completely untrue. In reality, I had walked away specifically to wait for my friend so she could make the reservation and help us determine where we were supposed to park. I was also told that the employee had contacted the tow company before my friend even came downstairs to resolve the parking issue. When I pointed out that I had never said I would refuse to move the car, the conversation became even more frustrating. Rather than addressing the discrepancy, I was told that I needed to be "respectful" and that the employee would not continue arguing with me. I have lived in multiple apartment communities, and I understand that properties have rules and parking policies. My issue is not with being asked to follow a policy. My issue is with how this situation was handled. A simple question and reasonable suggestion about unclear signage escalated into my car being tagged, a tow truck being contacted, and my friend being charged a fee -- all while we were actively trying to follow the instructions we had been given. The property itself is very nice, but the customer service experience was unacceptable. Residents and guests should be able to ask questions or raise reasonable concerns without being treated as though they are being difficult or hostile. I hope management takes this experience seriously and considers both improving the signage and addressing how these situations are handled by the front desk/leasing staff.

I moved in February 2026 and intentionally waited to write this review. Every new building has its…read moreups and downs, and I wanted to give the community enough time to see how management handles situations and addresses unexpected issues. Let's start with the areas that could use some improvement. The rooftop has a large TV screen for residents to enjoy, but unfortunately, it has been broken since I moved in. I've been told several times that it would be repaired, but it still hasn't been fixed. My previous building, Radian, also had an outdoor screen, and when it stopped working, it was repaired within a couple of weeks. So, I know these types of issues can be resolved relatively quickly. The second area I would like to see improved is the cleaning of the common areas. In my experience living in other luxury apartment communities, the floors and shared spaces were cleaned at least every other day. More consistent cleaning would help maintain the overall appearance and experience of the building. Aside from those two things, I really don't have any major complaints. Any other issues I've experienced have been addressed and resolved within a couple of days, which I really appreciate. Now for what makes this building truly special: the people who work here. The leasing team is always friendly, welcoming, and willing to help whenever they can. They strike the perfect balance with residents--friendly enough to make you feel like part of the community without ever being intrusive. The concierge team is also in a league of its own. Triana, in particular, has gone above and beyond for me on countless occasions. He consistently goes beyond what is expected of him, remembers my guests, and greets them as warmly as he greets me. Whenever I experience even the smallest inconvenience, he is quick to step in and help. Overall, The Lindley is an amazing place to live. While there are a couple of areas where I think improvements could be made, the exceptional staff and the sense of community truly make this place feel like home. I'm genuinely happy to call The Lindley my home.

Maybe if you just moved to San Diego and vinyl floors, a high floor and a polished leasing tour scream luxury to you, congratulations -- you may have found your dream home. This place feels like it was designed specifically for transplants who moved to San Diego five minutes ago and haven't figured out what they're paying for yet. Seriously, ask your neighbor if they're actually from San Diego. I'm starting to think the answer is probably no. If you're actually from here, know this market, and know what premium California rent is supposed to buy, the disappointment sets in quickly. And please, during the tour, TOUCH THINGS. The cabinets feel cheap and flimsy. The flooring isn't hardwood -- it's vinyl. Once the leasing-tour lighting wears off, you start wondering exactly which part of the apartment warranted the luxury adjective. A view and a rooftop do not magically turn cheap finishes into luxury. And concierge? An entire experience of its own. The eye rolls, dismissive attitude and general air that residents are inconveniencing the person sitting at the front desk would almost be funny if residents weren't paying thousands of dollars every month to live here. You represent the FRONT LOBBY of a supposedly luxury building. Basic professionalism isn't an optional amenity. I pay my rent. I'm not paying your salary separately. Act accordingly. And despite all that attitude, I've had packages disappear multiple times. Amazon probably thinks I'm running an organized refund operation at this point. Amazon, babe, it's not me. It's the building. Then there's the pool. I laid down to tan and ended up with actual shards of broken glass puncturing my skin. Management came outside, saw what happened and asked if I was okay. I followed up afterward by email. No response. Nothing says luxury management quite like "Are you okay?" followed by complete radio silence. And prospective residents should know that there is literally a HOTEL operating inside this supposedly luxury residential building and sharing amenities. I have no idea whether the broken glass came from a resident, hotel guest or someone else. I just know checking a pool lounger for glass before putting my body on it wasn't included in the leasing presentation. Then there are the elevators, which seem to maintain their own work-life balance. And if you enjoy sleeping, good luck with the surrounding construction. I've dealt with construction noise outside my bedroom while another building has gone up and affected my view. Obviously management doesn't control every construction project happening downtown, but it certainly adds another layer of comedy when you're already questioning exactly what you're paying a premium for. New management has done absolutely nothing to improve my opinion of this place. Communication and follow-through have been disappointing, and judging by the resident group chat, dissatisfaction with the building isn't exactly a niche hobby. Prospective residents: research Greystar yourself. Don't rely on a beautiful leasing tour, and don't rely solely on this review either. Read reviews. Read public records. Research the company. Then make your own decision. Luxury isn't an adjective you slap on a listing because the building is tall. Luxury is quality. Luxury is service. Luxury is security. Luxury is professionalism. Luxury is feeling comfortable in the home you pay a substantial amount of money for. This building charges for the word and delivers the aesthetic. If you're a transplant who just wants to say you live in a downtown San Diego "luxury high-rise," perhaps you'll be perfectly happy. If you actually know San Diego and know what genuine high-end living feels like, shop around. Save yourself the gorgeous tour and subsequent character development. Two stars. One for my apartment. One for the view I have. Concierge and management can fight over who earned neither.

These were full-on ragers with bass so loud that my walls, couch, and bed would literally vibrate. Sleeping wasn't an option, and my dog would spend the night pacing around the apartment because she was terrified. Every time it happened, I emailed Brittany Cavallaro, the Senior Community Manager, and Ryan Haar, the Assistant Community Manager. I was repeatedly told they had spoken with the resident, who claimed they had no idea what I was talking about.Finally, at 4:00 a.m., I got out of bed and recorded the noise outside the unit above me. The video clearly captured a party happening inside the apartment. After talking with other residents, I learned that the person living in the unit was actually Ryan Haar--the Assistant Community Manager. After I confronted Brittany and Ryan, I was told the parties happened while he was out of town and that friends were using his apartment without his knowledge. I found that explanation hard to believe, but I was willing to move on as long as the parties stopped.They didn't. Brittany is no longer at The Winslow, and the late-night parties have started up again. This time, my recording clearly captures Ryan's voice inside the apartment.What's most frustrating is that the person responsible for helping enforce the community rules appears to have no respect for the people who actually live here. I pay nearly $3,000 a month for a studio apartment, not to live underneath what feels like a college party house. Luxury apartment prices should come with basic expectations like being able to sleep through the night. Instead, residents are left documenting noise at 4:00 a.m. just to be taken seriously. If management isn't willing to hold its own employees to the same standards as everyone else, that's something prospective renters deserve to know before signing a lease.

After living at the Winslow for a short time I've had a few frustrating experiences but one…read morespecific experience toppled the rest and from feedback from friends and family, I felt it was necessary to write this review. Exactly 30 days after moving in and becoming settled with the Winslow, management had informed me that the parking spot I was assigned and used for the past 30 days was attached to a different apartment, though I had no issue previously. Due to an administrative mistake, I was forced to relocate to a different parking spot and I felt that if I hadn't communicated my discomfort as loud as i did that I would've been moved even further from my original spot. The management resolved it as best as they could. In my opinion if it was a new resident moving in they should've defaulted to seniority instead of relocating me as I've already been here for the past 30 days. The issue should've been corrected with the new resident, not the one already living here if that is the case. Second major issue with moving into the Winslow was a requested document that in my opinion was overreaching for an apartment building to request for new tenants to sign. I had already signed my lease and was preparing to move in when I discovered a "Authorization and Release" form. In itself this document seemed harmless but the language it used was too extreme and permanent in nature. It took a few attempts to get decline this document prior to moving in, but eventually I was capable of moving in without signing it. Final issue with the Winslow to date is maintenance. Specifically service requests regarding some cabinets that were failing. Not a major issue however, for a specific cabinet it had taken 3+ service requests in order to resolve. It is now working perfectly fine but time will tell how long it holds together. There may be some build quality issues with the Winslow. I've found some flooring that is warped, indicated where the flooring meets the molding. These issues by themselves are not the worst thing in the world but together they may form a better picture of the condition of the Winslow. With time, I will circle back to this review and correct it as my experience gets better or worse. As of right now I am hoping that the experience improves with time. I'm still very upset over the parking spot, having to go from a spot with ample space to jump in and out of the car to one cramped is not a pleasant feeling. Hoping that these issues do not continue in the future and that it may still be worthy of signing another lease when this one is over.

At the end of the day, 625 would just be another downtown building if it weren't for the community--and that community starts with the staff. From the leasing agents and managers to maintenance and the cleaning crew, the staff has been exceptional throughout my entire time there. Consistently professional, responsive, and kind, they truly set the tone for the building and make it feel like a place where people care. The building itself is spectacular. Walking through the entrance, you immediately feel the elegance and grandeur of this historic property. The balance of industrial elements--exposed brick, ducts, and steel staircases--with marble finishes and soaring ceilings genuinely elevates your quality of life. The gym is well-equipped with everything you need, and the lounge offers multiple spaces that can easily accommodate several events at once. It's also a pet-friendly building with regular community events. While some of these can feel more like quantity over quality, the book club is a clear exception and a true highlight. I met great people there and made friendships I expect to keep for life. There are a few things worth noting for prospective residents. Noise can be significant if you live on the lower floors, particularly on the west side of the building. My biggest criticism, however, is the parking situation with LAZ Parking, which is a separate entity. Trash often overflowed, stairwells were sometimes littered (occasionally with human excrement), and my car was hit while parked--only to be told the cameras didn't capture it. On another occasion, an open spot was changed to reserved overnight, resulting in my car being towed. There are also pockets around the building with unhoused individuals. The trolley area can feel overwhelmed at times, and the urban camping near the Red Cross has grown significantly. That said, the location is fantastic. There's an abundance of great food, walkable activities, and hidden gems nearby--from Seaport Village to Little Italy, plus countless spots to grab a cocktail or explore downtown. Overall, I truly loved my experience at 625 Broadway. It was my home for many years, and I'm deeply grateful for the staff and the community that made it special. I left with lasting friendships and a lot of good memories--and that says a great deal about a place.
