Before it was called MVP kid, back then they couldn't figure out my sons none stop cough and sent me out to see a specialist. The specialist called me and said "we don't take your son diagnosis " . I was puzzled because from what I know my son wasn't diagnosed with anything as of yet. They said the referral was sent with "pulmonary edema" meaning water in the lungs. I called MVP kids and said "I'm sorry about that , would you like for us to fix it and resend it ?" Ummmm... what kind of question is that ?! Anyways, I decided not to go back. Recently, my kid got sick again with fever and ear aches and found out they were under a new management. I thought " maybe that's changed" I came to this office 3 times with fever . One ear infection and now double ear infection. I decided to get all the records and take him to PCH and they said they shouldn't have given me such a low dose (twice) on antibiotics. AND he decided to follow up on the earl infections , arbor doesn't care. I don't want my kids to have to see the dr so many time within a month. Save you some time and find something better. I'll drive far if it take someone to actually listen. ALSO, my sister came her when she was a pre teen . Was sick up and down and they kept saying a cold or strep or even mono.... Turns out she had lupus and was diagnosed at PCH. What kind of practice is this?! read more

Front office staff was very unkind to my husband today, very loud and just an overall unpleasant experience. The wait times are always very long and staff eventually place you in a room and then you often have to wait 30 minutes to an hour plus to see a doctor. read more

Took my daughter in for a well check appointment and to get her age 11 vaccinations. First visit to Arbor and I was pleasantly surprised. The front office staff were friendly and efficient and my daughter saw NP Cindy Besch who was ex excellent. NP Besch was extremely caring and she has a great disposition with children. She made my daughter feel at ease and although scared of needles, things went smoothly thanks to Cindy. NP Besch is definitely my favorite medical practitioner! Highly recommend Arbor Pediatrics and if you make an appt, ask for NP Besch - you won't be disappointed. read more

I took my granddaughter in for an emergency appt and the staff was wonderful and very helpful even with a short notice sick apt. Nice to know she's in good hands! I appreciated the time the Dr took with her and the office in updating her records. The Dr had a student nurse shadowing him and it was nice to see the way he explained and was thorough working with her as well. read more

I am so saddened to have to leave a negative review following my visit here this morning. My 15month old baby was waiting to be seen by Dr. Broome this morning and while crawling on the exam table a latch wasn't fastened correctly and the head rest piece dropped out from under her like a trap door and my poor baby fell and smashed her face/head on the floor. She was visibly shaken and upset, pale and dazed and even started throwing up ( signs of concussion) after a very quick and brief look over from Dr Broome he left the room to attend other patients ( which was fine as I was calming my baby) but when he returned for the rest of her visit he seemed not too concerned about the fall and head injury. He checked the table stating he'd never seen it happen before. He did check baby's ears and eyes but to me ignored the clamminess, pale and dazed way she was looking. I am very non confrontational and maybe didn't clearly express my concern. So after being cleared to leave we left. I will not be returning to MVP Kids as the situation left a bad feeling in me about the care that was given to my girl today. read more

Both my kids started with a fever & runny nose Sunday night. Took them for a same day appointment Tuesday morning, apparently they had the flu. I was told to keep hydrated, Motrin & Tylenol every 4hrs for fevers. They were both in the 103-105 temperatures, called the after hours nurse & both the nurse & Dr Bjornsen made the 105 fever sound like it was something completely normal & nothing to worry about. "It's part of the flu, unfortunately there's nothing we can do. Stay hydrated" we are now on day 5 of Motrin, Tylenol, hydration & Benadryl & still with 104 temps. Took them to Urgent Care this morning, they don't have the flu.. it's bronchitis. Thank you Dr Bjornsen, Dr Shul& after hours nurse for reassuring me a 105 fever was completely normal to have with the flu. Thank you for letting both my kids deal with 103-105 temps for 5 days & constantly reassuring me "it's completely normal". I spent over $100 in copays with 2 dr visits & 2 after hour phone calls through MVP Kids Care to be told its viral, there's nothing they can do. Left urgent care this morning with advice from the Dr there "anytime their temp reaches over 102, take them to the ER. That is NOT NORMAL". If I could give this place a zero star, I would. My daughter was sent home due to pink eye from school at 8 o'clock. I took her early in the morning before 9 o'clock to see the doctor. After 3 HOURS the doctor saw her. It's 5 o'clock and they still have not sent her prescription. No care! They are always trying to bill me extra although I have all my receipts stating I paid for each visit since I pay always before seeing the doctor. This spot is a RipOff! I have been with MVP kids for over 10 years and the way that they treated me this past Tuesday for my daughter that had a pink eye was blatantly racism, disrespectful and discriminated against. I will not. Never ever recommend MVP kids to anyone that is black. They do not respect us and they feel like they can just always call the authorities when they have dropped the ball on us. Second day we where 20 mins late and they canceled our appointment at the office when we where there. Front desk was a little rude. My daughter went there for her Covid shot, she arrived to the location long before the appointment time and checked in at the desk. The time came and passed for my daughter to get her 3rd covid shot. Waited for 45 minutes just to hear one of the nurses say "no one has seen you yet?" The shot finally happens and we go to speak to someone about the service. So much of our time was already wasted there that it basically was not worth it to stay. They never adhere to appointment times. The service staff is rude, they do not care about customer concerns and if you bring up issues to them they will never be resolved. Scheduled an appointment well in advance for today. I received a voice confirmation and an email confirmation. I show up today and was turned away because they believed my insurance wouldn't cover the appt (a well check). This was discussed at the time when the appointment was scheduled. I had confirmation. The person "in charge" didn't seem to care. I have been with Dr. Broome since 2006. This office is too busy, it appears they just don't care anymore. Called to speak to Dr. Broome and was told I'd get a supervisor so I was put on hold. I hung up after 8 minutes on hold. It's NOT ok. Dr. Broome is a great doctor and my kids are going to miss him. We first met Dr. Shulski when we had my son and didn't yet have a pediatrician lined up. We loved him and he was funny and very easy going. After about a month I noticed a lump in my sons neck, he referred to it as a swollen lymph node and that it would soon go away. Months passed and almost every single visit I would bring up the lump, it was always dismissed. As a first time mom I was unsure wether this was something I should be concerned about. My son turned two and still he did not seemed concerned about it. I finally decided to get a second opinion and his head was slightly tilted to a side and I was terrified it could be a tumor. This doctor confirmed all of my initial thoughts about it being a shortened sternocleidomastoid aka torticollis. We have been taking him to physical therapy but he will most likely need surgery. If Dr Shulski would have just addressed my concerns and gotten a second opinion this could have been possibly corrected with physical therapy and no surgery. Please do not go here and see this doctor who is TOO easy going and trust your gut feeling. We are our childrens only advocates. read more

Lesson learned that I would never go back to this place and trust this place for my children's care. I did my best to follow instructions filed paperwork to transfer my children's care to another state, and this office has been delaying my children's need to get care. I had called almost two months now to make sure the records were sent. Where are the hospitality and patient care of this place? Services like this are very disappointing. My solution now is next time, have my children's medical paperwork; it's unfortunate to know you can not trust the services of some clinical places anymore, just like this place. Been coming here for over a year now, and while there have been bumps... Our experience overall has been good. Today though; it was horrible!!!! We came on time, even a few minutes before, our scheduled 8AM appointment and we waited for an hour and half!!! It was only an appointment for our daughter's four year old vaccines with a nurse, and it took that long to be seen!?!? Waiting a little bit is one thing but an hour and a half is beyond RIDICULOUS. I politely and calmly talked to the staff at the 40 minute mark and was told they would see what was going on, then at the 1 hour mark, my husband asked because we still were waiting. We were about to leave, and I have never had to leave a medical appointment before it even happened, when they finally called us. We are normally patient people but this long of a wait is unacceptable to your patients. read more

I have some very mixed reviews. Some Dr's are very great with kids, some I wonder why they are in pediatrics? The PA we saw was clueless as to how to properly diagnose my daughter, she knew no "tricks" to make kids comfortable in an already scary situation. They messed up my kid's VAXX records so I had to contact our past Ped's offices AGAIN so that I could make them another copy. They won't receive the records through email so I had to go in person, wait in line, and wait while they entered them into the system. No apologies, no "sorry for the inconvenience". The virtual appointments are horrible because they end up telling you to just come in anyway if you want any kind of prescription. So you end up paying for two appointment's. But they say "it's okay it will go towards your deductible" which isn't really the point. One ear infection and $165 later...not to mention they forgot to send over the prescription after telling me they did, so I waited with my sick kid at the pharmacy for over an hour waiting. I would love to go somewhere else but I don't want to have to go through a transfer again. When I have the energy we will find a new place. read more

The doctor left me waiting for 40 minutes and then told me two hours into the doctor visit that me and my one year older needed to leave because i didn't want to vaccinate my baby!!!!! Mind you I was there for his skin that looks super severe rashes everywhere and he's in pain from itching and needing her to figure it out and refer me to a dermatologist!!!! Dr. Frakes, she's been a great Dr for my daughter. This is a small practice surrounded by different specialists, located right across the street from Kohls. The examination rooms are clean, small, and furbished with the necessary equipment, some of the nurses or assistants might sound a bit tough, but they are actually really efficient. The Doctor's are very nice, and knowledgeable, and approachable. I was told that Dr. Frakes is leaving this practice, but the other Drs are very good as well. Will definitely keep coming here. read more

After years of going here with my 5 children as happy patients, i have ran into so many "issues" at this office, starting with awful customer service being number one of the main issues, everyone besides the doctors tend to be rude, not very friendly, Unknowledgeable and short with answers. Our doctor is Dr Shulski and he is amazing but my kids can never get an actual appointment with him its always with someone we've never even met before and the other doctors aren't very kid friendly. Employees in the front ALWAYS have a "phone issue" they either don't answer or answer the phone and don't say anything and hang up or in mid sentence you "lose connection" they don't try to call you back or apologize when you have to call back and wait on hold Forever again. Some of the girls in the back DO NOT know how to give vaccines or swab the throat, beware, your child will be in pain and agony because they are not very experienced. I was just told today to take my son to urgent care instead because they had no openings for the time i needed, completely ridiculous! What doctors office recommends to go elsewhere due to something so negotiable ? I worked there a few years ago and I still have nightmares from working for this business. Most of the Doctors were great but some would treat the MA's horribly and would talk to us like we had absolutely no clue what we were doing. I have an emt background but they hired me as an MA, and I've had no MA experience before working there. They gave me a PowerPoint to learn from and then only had a week of hands on training, and it wasn't really training. I struggled to keep up for the first month and if I needed help from a more experienced coworker I couldn't get the help because no one had time; every doctor was tripled booked. My second month working I was relocated to a slower location and was learning way more than I did at the Avondale location. I was feeling more confident in doing MA skills. All of a sudden management throws me back to the Avondale location and I worked there for two days before they fired me. It was a particularly difficult and busy day because we had regular appointments as well as covid vaccine appointments. In general there was absolutely no time to scan in and input paperwork, and whenever I had two minutes to scan papers I would get scolded for not being on the floor. But this day with regular appointment and the covid appointments, management pulled me into an office and they told me "we just don't think you're fit to work here. We've heard complaints from both locations and we have to let you go as an MA. But we'd love to train you in front desk" I appreciated the offer for another position but what really did it for me was that they let me go from my MA position that very moment but then EXPECTED me to work another 3-4 hours to finish my shift. I was a mess because I was feeling better working there, I was broadening my skills and experience and then was fired for no particular reason. I told them I had to leave (I had an hour left of my shift), and they said "once you finish your paperwork you can leave". I scanned it to my email and left. I let them figure out what to do with the paperwork because they didn't respect me and took advantage of me that day. You are overworked here, it's severely understaffed, and don't get paid enough. If you work at 8am, they expect you to be there by 7am. If you get off at 5pm don't expect to leave until almost 7pm. Also, I was raised to say "yes sir, no sir, yes maam, no ma'am." And I respected the doctors that I worked for and this one supervisor I had, Christian, told me that it was very unprofessional and rude to call doctors sir or maam. Christina (a supervisor) is out to get you and will target you if she doesn't like you. The owners say that they're there for you and are willing to help but that's a lie. read more

She was nonch about a mistake THEY made and instead of apologizing and helping fix the problem she spoke to me rude then when I raised my voice to her she played victim and acted as if I done something wrong. Then I called back to get an understanding of why she cancelled my son appt she was further rude and over talked me while trying to explain I have 7 kids that come to mvp. I'm a brand new mom and worried about every new noise, eye booger, and cry when I call the office with a question I'm always called back by a nurse quickly and my questions are always answered. When I received the confirmation call from Liz I had a few questions that she didn't know the answers for but she took her time and found the answers. She didn't give me attitude for keeping her on the phone longer and was professional for the whole call. Careful! Make sure you ask a ton of questions on your bill as they make a lot of mistakes and refuse to explain it to you. We were cash patients so should have been straight forward, however, they played some games and started billing way higher than we were told. They even tacked on a lovely "administration fee" after the appointment (which we had paid in full) and tried to collect on that. read more

my nephew was seen at this facility three times before being admitted to PCH and at each appointment our complaints about difficulty breathing were ignored and even diagnosed him with an ear infection (when seen at PCH was confirmed to not have one). He was not properly cared for, the doctors rushed out of the room didn't spend time to evaluate my nephew, and the MA lied about my nephews pulse ox being good. My nephew could not breath an hour after being seen and had a pulse ox of 83%. When the office was contacted about this they stated action will be taken and we will receive a follow up call. We did not receive a follow up call and so far we believe no action is being taken in regards to neglect my nephew faced here. My son came down with a cough that progressively became worse over the weekend and I called MVP after reading their reviews online and NOT wanting to take him to a walk in clinic. I had planned on switching to them earlier as we were unhappy with the prior Pediatrician but never got around to calling and getting the kids established with the practice. I was SO impressed at how friendly the receptionist was on a Monday morning at a Pediatric clinic I explained we were new and thought the odds of getting in were slim...but she was able to! I was so happy and relieved. However my son was not as he is very scared of Doctors after our last Pediatrician. We got to the office and it was so very busy but the receptionists were very friendly and fast. We were called back at our appointment time and the MA was very friendly. My son's anxiety continued to climb and we were trying all we could to calm him down that this was a new clinic a new Doctor etc. As my son is in tears, in walked Jennifer Holmgren. I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful woman. She almost instantly put my son at ease, was very calm and patient and I could see his anxiety dropping away, as was mine! Our visit went SO very well, she was very thorough, kind and gentle. Providers like these are angels amongst us and they need to be applauded for such wonderful care in a ever growing field of uncaring Providers. All that being said, from the bottom of this Mom's heart, THANK YOU MVP Staff and Jennifer Holmgren we are so happy to have found you!
