UPDATE 2 - While I respect that some families may have had positive experiences, it is important to…read morerecognize that not every parent or child undergoes the same kind of treatment, communication, or support from lead teachers. One parent's positive experience should not be used to dismiss or respond to concerns raised by other affected parents. There is no need to invalidate someone else's experience when the focus should simply be on sharing one's own. In our experience, concerns regarding ADHD and behavioral differences were discussed, but what was difficult was how those concerns were approached. Sensitive matters involving a child's struggles should remain professional and parent-centered, rather than becoming discussion points in ways that affect relationships with other families whose children were friends with mine. I have heard two of the parents approach me and letting me know that my child's conditions were discussed with them and told their kids not to be friends with him. Despite being uncomfortable and concerned, they informed me about this so I would be aware of it. What became especially concerning was when my child began coming home visibly distressed, crying, and repeatedly expressing that he felt pressured by the green class teacher into accepting the blame for an incident he consistently said he did not do. From our perspective as parents, it appeared that instead of carefully understanding the situation, there were moments where he felt pushed to agree with accusations or accept responsibility despite insisting otherwise. Watching a young child become emotionally distressed to the point of crying at home and describing feeling pressured in this way significantly escalated our concerns and aggravated an already difficult situation. More importantly, identifying concerns should also come with meaningful support and guidance. Instead of collaborative strategies, accommodations, or support to help my child succeed, it often felt like the child was only commented on having ADHD and also blamed for behaviors -- such as moving quickly through activities or transitioning to another task instead of staying engaged in one work for extended periods. Expecting a young child to remain focused on a single activity for more than 30 minutes without understanding developmental needs or learning differences did not feel supportive. When I approached the lead Green Class teacher to discuss how we speak to and guide our child when he was not listening, I was told that she had significant experience handling children and did not like parents giving suggestions. I found this response dismissive because, during a meeting when we genuinely asked for suggestions or strategies to better support our child, we were told there were none and were instead asked the same question in return. However, when I attempted to offer open suggestions based on what worked for our child, this was the response I received. This felt particularly concerning when it already seemed as though there were ongoing struggles in understanding, handling, and supporting our child's individual needs rather than working collaboratively to help him succeed. Comparing a 6-year-old child to a younger child, such as a 4-year-old, was also unhelpful and discouraging. Every child develops differently, and comparisons do not provide constructive support or understanding for a child's unique strengths and challenges.

A year before joining RMA I started asking moms in the community where their children go to…read morepreschool and if they like it, and time and time again RMA came up as being the go to preschool in the area. They have a waitlist for a reason. The grounds are beautiful with open space for kids to play and there are two locked entry points w security codes to get in; the grounds are fenced to keep kids safe. The classrooms are clean and Montessori educational items are placed at eye level accessible for children to interact with. Montessori language, such as calling the activities "jobs," is used, along with the traditional "walk around the sun" ceremony that takes place on a child's birthday. The school uses an app to communicate with parents showing pictures of their child during the day so you know what they're working on. I made it a point to check in w teachers at drop off/pick up time so there was always clear communication and collaboration with the school. The staff were all professional and kind in our experience. Our child has grown so much in the years we have been at RMA. At a recent elementary school assessment we were told she scored a grade level above academically on the kindergarten readiness test. Our child loves science after having weekly hands on science experiments in the classroom; she mastered letter and number recognition; she can write her name and has developed critical thinking skills thanks to her teachers and a school environment that encourages curiosity. The performances the school puts on throughout the year are really precious. The kids work hard at learning the songs and a lot of care goes into the events. I don't know the circumstances behind the negative reviews here, but I fully respect that Ms. Janet does not air any dirty laundry on a public forum like this. All I know is that RMA has a responsibility to provide a safe and healthy environment for the children enrolled, and from our own individual experience, they have done so. Our experience with RMA has been nothing but heartwarming and positive and we will miss it.

It saddens me to have to write this review. I am giving this school 2-stars for the appreciation…read moreand love for the teachers our child had. If it weren't for them, I would be giving the school a 1-star review. As a parent, we always want what's best for our children and for their safety to be the top priority. Which was the case for the 1.5 years we had our child enrolled. After looking for countless facilities, we found American Montessori Academy (AMA). We were hesitant due to sharing a campus with a church, not knowing if the school was religious based, however we learned that the only connection is that the school rents the space. As we toured the facility, we enjoyed the classroom environment and the Montessori approach to learning. We enrolled our child and began our journey in Red Class. All seemed well, until we observed some odd behaviors from our child. Our child demonstrated more anxious behavior and would plead to stay home (in a 2.5 year old way). We asked questions and learned that certain children in the class were being yelled at. Our child hit the point where feelings turned into fear of the teachers themselves. We addressed this concern with the Director, Michelle, and she agreed for us to switch our child into Blue Class. Blue Class was our saving grace. From my understanding Blue Class had a larger group of children due to one of the classrooms being renovated from a leak. Our child was weary entering a new classroom and needed adjusting but the fear was no longer present. It wasn't until we witnessed the care and attention the children received from these teachers that eased our minds. Fast forward to the 24-25 school year where Green class opened their doors and AMA now had 3 running classrooms. We decided to keep our child in Blue due to the connection our child had with the teachers. While the year progressed, our child was thriving socially, emotionally, and academically. We continued enrollment through summer and everything went downhill from there. We learned that children were alone with photography staff for their school photos and no school staff were present. When the Director was addressed about this, her response was "no one else has ever had a problem with this": https://www.ccld.dss.ca.gov/transparencyapi/api/FacilityReports?facNum=313619751&inx=11 As many parents began to view other concerns relating to staffing ratios and teachers needing support ratios (specifically relating to 2 year olds and children with needs), emails were sent to the Director to address these concerns. The Director's response was dismissive as she minimized any concerns we had and her solution was for us was to find a new facility. On July 3, 2025 a parent found an incident report filed on AMA on the Department of Social Services website dating back to November 2024. The incident allegation was in violation of child personal rights: https://www.ccld.dss.ca.gov/transparencyapi/api/FacilityReports?facNum=313619751&inx=9 According to licensing every family was supposed to be notified if the incident fell under a Type A violation, however, that was not the case. Another complaint was filed about not receiving the incident and an unannounced visit was made by DSS. As a parent, I called DSS myself to discuss this incident and notify that I had not received any notification from the school. According to DSS, the Director informed him that she informed parents but she can't control if parents return the signed form. The notification of the incident was not distributed to all families and was not posted anywhere around the school. Parents began receiving the notification in other classes. When they addressed the Director, she responded by informing them that it won't be an issue because the staff that is in question no longer works at the school. On July 11, 2025 we received our letter informing us of an incident. When we addressed the Director about the incident, she told us a different story: that the child's parents requested staff to pat the child's back for nap time and whoever recorded and reported the incident did so in retaliation of not receiving a Head Teacher position. First, the stories are different. Does the staff who pounded the child's back work there or not? (By the way, the staff is still employed and continues to be rough with children). Second, if the child's parents were aware of the incident - why wasn't the report dropped and why go to such lengths to hide it. If you decide to enroll your child in this school - be weary. I honestly believe most of the teachers are great and care deeply for the children - especially Blue Class. But the administration needs to change. The way problems are handled leads me to believe it's more about the money than the children.

It is next to a church, but they do not have a religious affiliation. The picture company that does the school photos are AMAZING; SERIOUSLY not one hair was out of place! I was able to actually observe them during my daughter's first session and they are super kid friendly and hilarious! They learned all concepts of the Montessori curriculum as well as age appropriate academic skills, making sure they are focusing on the whole child. It taught my daughter to be independent with transitions and lunch for public school. The classrooms are very well organized, and had a cozy vibe with separate inside / outside shoes. They have annual field trips, theme days, and sweet Holiday traditions! Overall, it was like my daughter's second family, and we will miss it dearly!

Especially when it comes to a service or program that involves children. When I was searching around months ago for an educational toddler daycare I researched about a dozen places and actually reached out to maybe half of them. Something that I was thoroughly surprised about was the poor customer service I received. Whether it was severely delayed responses, terse and rude responses or no response at all ...I experienced it. Wendy Spencer the Director/Owner of Woodcreek Montessori responded quickly and was very cordial. In addition to the customer service being on point, I quickly found out that the price was right. In regards to the other sketchy places: I get that anything involving kids can be pricey but when you couple that with poor customer service I would have been an idiot to send any sort of money their way, let alone my offspring! For example the Montessori school that is no more than a mile away from home, never responded to an inquiry I sent via their website, then when I called it sounded chaotic and it didn't help the lady who barely spoke a word of English (not to mention they were twice as expensive as Woodcreek Montessori). Please, no and thank you. Getting beyond the research phase, Wendy was phenomenal throughout the entire enrollment process as well. Informative and patient is exactly what the doctor ordered for someone going through it all for the first time. It is nice to encounter folks who are cognizant of the typical concerns and fears us newbies face and she showed nothing but understanding and patience for my seemingly endless questions. And it wasn't even like they were hurting for business, my kid was on a waiting list for the days we wanted! You know what I am getting at? Some business will be over the top friendly because they need the numbers to add up at the end of the month, not the case here. We pick up a happy, fed, educated and WORN OUT kid. Talk about a priceless scenario.

This is not a school, but more like an overpriced and unqualified daycare. When I informed the administration of my complaints, they proceeded to defend their inadequate staff due to nepotism and did not refund my money for the month my kids did not attend due to bullying and poor teaching conditions. The elementary program has one teacher, Ms. Sangeetha, who encourages bullying, shame and treats her students with humiliation, as described by my 6 year old daughter at the time (she is 7 now and has vivid memories and stories of the terrible situation at that school). There is no learning, no homework or evidence that your child is even learning. I also reported Ms Sangeetha's inappropriate behavior of inviting my daughter on field trips without parental consent and not scheduling any meetings with us as parents to review my daughter's progress. My second child was in the toddler children's house with Ms Eva, who from my understanding, is not a Montessori trained teacher but rather simply the mother of another student in Ms Sangeetha's class. I reported Ms Eva and her assistant as being cold and ineffective. My 4 year old son informed us that both teachers left the children alone for long periods of time. He had a horrible experience and felt very neglected. He had a fall and giant knot/bump on his head on his first week there. Ms Eva also was an emotional wreck, who appeared to be crying on a daily basis. The staff that is hired here is questionable. There are "field trips" planned without parent consent or permission slips. My daughter had an accident at school and soiled herself and not one staff member alerted us or helped her. Our experience at this school was horrible and I am considering to take legal action based on the money that was taken from me and the neglect faced by my kids.
