I was referred from another company who was booked. When I first called I believe I spoke with the owner who was actually very nice. He gave me an estimate to remove a tree stump at $300. The quote was to remove the stump 6 inches below grade. He showed up with a stump grinder same day, and worked for about a hour, after which another guy came int he afternoon for another hour or so. When he was done, he told me he didn't clean up the shavings because it would be helpful for the retaining wall project I had going. I trusted him and believed him. Turns out, when my team went to build my retaining wall the following week, the shavings that were there, were just covering up the fact that the stump was still there above grade in some places. I tried to contact the owner of Arborist Crew for 2 days with no response to my calls or texts. I was forced to pay my gardener to come on a Sunday and re-do the job. I let the owner of Arborist Crew know I had to pay someone else to do the job and waited a month to see if he would make it right before posting this. OVERALL - sounds like they are great with big jobs making big money... but I wouldn't recommend if you have something smaller they are squeezing in AT ALL. read more

We needed to have our trees looked at and have some of them trimmed. My husband called this company and they request to pay $75.00 down when they came out. They came out took a look at our trees and we gave them the check. They called back and told us that they were mailing our check back for $75.00. And told us that if we are interrested with their company performing the work order, that they can come back at another date. They thought we had a small tree to trim and they were able to trim it for $75.00. Since we had several large trees that needed major trimming they would have to come back another day. We thought how honest are they to call us and mail our check back. They could have kept our check and told us they would keep it as credit until services were rendered. Whereas we had problems with another company prior to this one. They faxed us a contract to sign and we had them come out for the work order. They did a fantastic job in trimming our trees. Though they were a bit pricey, it was worth using this company for their honesty and reliability. I would definitely recommend and use them again for future tree services. read more

Had two large trees in my backyard that I needed to have removed. This company sent out someone to do look at the job and I had a formal estimate in my email inbox within about an hour. They maintained excellent contact with me after accepting the bid and in scheduling the job to be done. I received a phone call this morning at 8:15am to let me know they were on their way and was shocked when I drove to my house at 10:10am to find them finishing the cleanup!!!!! Arborist Crew did a great and efficient job trimming a large number of trees on our property recently. We had several very large trees that were a safety concern - a huge pine at the top of our driveway that was leaning toward the house, and several huge Eucalyptus, with heavy limbs from all the growth after the rains last year. We also had a number of Olive trees, a big sycamore, etc. We needed everything to be trimmed before the next winter winds and rain set in. Charles did a thorough assessment of the property and offered a very reasonable quote for such a big job. It was important to me that a certified arborist and crew did the job. Wonderful service! Their crew is experienced and so good at thinning out trees instead of chopping the tops off. We have been using them every year for 5 years and never had a problem. We have around 40 trees on the property and they bring enough people to get the job done in one day. Very responsive, quality work, reasonable pricing. The absolute worst service, not the crew but the scheduler. I asked that appointment times be confirmed as I have animals and twice the crew arrived with not notice whatsoever. I felt horrible for the crew as they seemed to really want to help. When I called the office to explain why I had to turn the crew away, the office manager could have cared less. read more

Called to set up an appointment. Need tree service for my trees and opinion on effect from neighbor tree. Lady said, "we don't do anything with neighbor trees." I repeated that I just wanted an opinion which could be done when coming out for estimate on my trees. "We can recommend someone to give you a report" she said. She obviously has no listening skills. Asked to speak to someone else. "No one else is here." was her answer. I wouldn't trust this "Crew" (which goes by a name different than their real name) to touch anything on my acreage with this greeting. If the person answering the phone doesn't care to obtain customers, doubt the owner is serious about satisfying them. read more

We have used Camarillo Tree Service on an annual basis for many years. Once a year, they come out to trim hedges, trees, etc. Their work is flawless. They trim, shape, and thin trees the way the work should be done. No "chop it off a the top and worry about how it looks for the next 2 years". I called and left a message to call me back. When they called me back, I asked if they gave free estimates. The response was, "I am really busy, I have to go, thank you for the call." and then he hung up in my ear. Not only was my question not answered, but he hung up in my ear leaving me high a dry and speechless on a dead line. Somehow, I think he did me a favor.
