Very professional staff. We have a tree of heaven (our only tree) that had a lot of spotted lantern flies. The past few years I controlled with sticky tape and a daily fly swatting. This year the SLFs won! My yard was covered in honey dew. Deck plants etc and it seemed to be killing my neighbors trees with the heavy dew on the leaves. Arborpolitan used an insecticide and a few days later they started to all fall off the tree. I pick them up and toss them daily to keep the bees or any other insects from investing any possible insecticide. Arborpolitan also gave us an estimate to trim the tree this winter. HOMEOWNER BEWARE! On top of heavy follow up for a quote, requesting estimates and scheduling, we then had the severe disappointment of finding out that they could not clear the tree 6-8 feet from the building! That was my original goal and what I wanted in the original scope of work! It's definitely listed on there but if you come to my house now, you can see that the branches are still too close to the building. What a joke that I ended up paying over $2000 to then find out that they could not cut anything beyond a 2" branch when he originally said 4". My neighbors were laughing at the ridiculousness of it all. They trimmed for 5 hours and left a mess behind in front of my home. Learn from my mistake and book elsewhere. I had a strange experience with these folks. A couple weeks ago, we made an appointment for them to come inspect my Brooklyn backyard fruit trees--a big pear tree and a peach tree. They never showed up and were not in touch the day of the appointment, and they never responded to my followups by email and phone. What makes this strange is that a few years ago they came and worked on the pear tree and other trees in my yard. I was having a problem with my neighbor's tree. 3" diameter branches were breaking off and crashing into my yard and on the internet/phone lines that service the surrounding houses. I decided to bite the bullet and pay for an inspection because my neighbor for whatever reason doesn't give a shit how his tree is affecting everyone around him. Aaron from Arborpolitan came out and did an inspection. I learned a lot from our meeting including what type of tree, its health status, and recommended actions. He sent me an incredibly thorough, detailed report, which was very well written (which is so rare these days). I gave a copy to my neighbor who without reading it, rejected it and sent it back. Anyway, all the law will allow me to do is prune what hangs over the property line, again it's not my tree. A second appointment was made with Arborpolitan to do that pruning. A crew of two guys came out, a climber and a spotter, and they did a great job cutting back the tree in a responsible way. Meaning while the law says I can cut anything on my side, I can't cut so much as to threaten the health or kill the tree. These guys with their climbing rigs (not amateurs from the corner) were very professional , knowledgeable and personable and cut the tree back in a way that made it look "balanced", not too much from any one spot but far enough back from the house roof to discourage squirrels from having a party on my roof. They cleaned as they worked and a final clean up at the end. In the end, after two interactions with Arborpolitan, I would recommend them to anyone who needs tree inspections or service. As for price, I live in the Midwood, Kings Highway area of Brooklyn, not Park Slope, and found their prices for the inspection report and tree trimming VERY reasonable. read more

His team did such a beautiful job--our tree looks so healthy now, we are so happy we can keep this old giant in our family! Had to wait 3 weeks to get an appointment. When they came they told me they would send me a quote for the job - this was one week ago I still haven't heard back - and that they are pretty full so won't be able to do the job fast. Even though I expressly told them that the job is quite urgent as branches of my tree are hitting my roof, damaging the house. Seems that they couldn't care less.
