Terrible customer service, almost never returned calls, always had inexperienced or impolite assistants showing up in his place, completely unprofessional! I have worked with Alisa for the management of my rental property since I moved from Boston to Los Angeles in 2009. We've been renting with Arborview for a little over a year. When we first moved in we were a little disappointed with the cleanliness, but after a phone call to the management we literally came home to find our place smelling like roses (from something lovely the cleaning people had sprayed in the air). They are really prompt with service calls, and generally keep their places up. You might pay a little more renting through them, but you get your driveway shoveled and the grass in your yard mowed, so for us it is worth it. Plus they do have great properties in JP. read more

In 2018, Nate Kirby and his firm helped me purchase my first new condo in Ashland, MA. In 2020, a year and a half later, he also helped me sell the same condo as I decided that the suburbs were not for me. As a tenant of Arborview, I found it very difficult to get common courtesies out of the property manager/realtor. No notice of construction, maintenance, walk ins, etc. When asked about these things, the response is essentially "everything we do is within the law." Basement getting revamped? No notice that things will be inaccessible for weeks or moved around. Construction at 7am for two months? Why would we tell you that since you already signed the lease again? When our smoke alarm went off 12 times between the hours of midnight and 6am, the response was: "Well, it's better to be more sensitive than to not go off at all." Unfortunate that the team works more for landlords and property owners than they do for tenants. Rents raised ridiculous amounts each year. read more

Arborview was fine when we first got our apartment, however, once we started in the apartment the attitude from the employees that worked there was abysmal. There were never any "warning" emails or gentle suggestions. It was simply an overly aggressive email out of the blue about something we had no way of knowing would be an issue and every email had a threat in it. ie. We can evict you; you will be fined; we'll take your security deposit; etc. Celeste and Ashley are a two-headed monster of unnecessary aggression. If they would have addressed us with a positive tone and not threatening every step of the way, we would've been much more inclined to appreciate the help and service they gave us. Would never use them again and will actively steer people away. read more

No matter how I addressed, she concluded I needed an market analysis for current market value of my house. He is really helpful for walk-throughs because it is like a mini-inspection. Nate always points out things we wouldn't have noticed- marks on the basement walls, different factors related to structural integrity of the home, updates that we might want to consider doing before moving in (having the floors redone, fixing rotting beams or porch posts, etc), estimating the age and condition of the room, and so on. We ended up doing quite a few updates on our condo and our single family home, and Nate was really helpful both times in giving us suggestions and estimates for what projects we should prioritize and ballpark prices to budget for the work. Five years ago I hired Arborview's restoration team to reconstruct a skylight in my condo. During the time I worked for a business whose landlord was Arborview. The original skylight had been there since 1978. I hired Arborview because I assumed our positive working relationship would translate into their team giving me their best effort. I was charged $1000 for the skylight, which was a relatively straight-forward job of rebuilding a wood frame and sealing double paned glass on top. We were away while the work was completed. The new skylight was a bit underwhelming in construction (roughly cut plywood with one coat of paint, edges not perfectly matched up) but at the very least it was an improvement from the 30 year old one. In March of this year I heard a very loud pop and saw-because moisture was getting in between the panes-the inner pane had broken. I asked the owner of Arborview three times to come take a look at the skylight but he told me he is too busy. I then asked an owner of another restoration company to look at the skylight. He said the original work was "a quick job" and that there were a lot of details that should have been handled but weren't. He also expressed some surprise over the cost of $1000 given what we got as a result. All I wanted was for Arborview to look at the broken glass, and perhaps offer me a discount on replacing the glass, but I have been told no. So I guess having a relationship with their company and being a fellow small business in the area doesn't really count for anything. I can't speak of them as a real estate company, but I do think they are fair landlords. However, take it from me you are far better off hiring someone else to do restoration in your home. I can't believe I was essentially charged $200 a year for a skylight that I now have to replace! read more
