We recently had the stressful and unpredictable experience of selling our home in Jamaica Plain. After over 30 years in the suburbs where we raised our children, we decided to move back to the place where we had lived when we first got married. Jamaica Plain is a wonderful place to live and we enjoyed it immensely. It has great restaurants, a warm friendly population, and proximity to Boston. But when the pandemic hit, we decided to go to our summer home in March. We started working from home there, and continued to do so. We tried using "big-name" realtors first, and found the experience impersonal. Unsurprisingly, we came in second or third on half a dozen offers over two years. In the winter of 2019, we knew we needed to take a different approach for the spring 2019 housing market. We met the FOCUS team, by chance, at a home they were selling. We were immediately impressed by how professional they were as they showed the home, and how nice they were to us as prospective buyers. After the showing, we reached out to them to ask if they would be our buyer's agent for the spring house hunt. FOCUS proceeded to do something in a couple of months that the other realtors we worked with couldn't accomplish in years--they helped us find our dream home.
