So my wife is starving, but she's a sucker for Arby's, and I had noticed there was one at Hwy. 46 a few days earlier when we were heading north. So we skip Santa Nella, skip Kettleman City, and arrive at Lost Hills only to find the Arby's/Love's Megacomplex has a big fat B health rating. EWWW! But we brave it anyway, cuz she's a sucker for Arby's remember. I had a roast beef sandwich which was the same as any other Arby's I've been to. They have TV's that are usually playing some sort of sports-related thing, and it's connected to Love's, which is where the restrooms are. tl;dr: It's clean, service is quick, and it's yummy. Well, if you're en route from SF to LA and would rather make your lunch pit stop other than the same place everyone else does, skip Kettleman and hold out a little while longer. screw In N Out/Kettleman City, lost hills is the spot!!! especially for drivers to San Diego - it cuts the drive into 3 hours prior to stop, 4 hours after stop (thanks, LA traffic.) ~ I stop here EVERY time because of Arby's. I was under the impression that there are no other Arby's in California, but was recently proven wrong. BUT still, it is a rare gem on the west coast. i love the beef n cheddar. I keep telling myself "ok next time, I'll try something else" but i just can't resist it when i see the photo... beef n cheddar (add some of that Arbys special sauce!) and curly fries... delicious. they're always cleaning the place, so it's sparkly... wish i could say the same about the bathroom in the attached convenience store, but eh on the bright side... at least it has toilet paper...? I would give them zero stars but that is not an option first of all they have run out of several items on their menu which is absolutely ridiculous their manager obviously does not know how to manage ordering products second of all it was like a nursery school in there bunch of young kids with bad attitudes who don't know how to make food. This is my spot. For 10 years I have been driving on the 5 to get from Socal to Norcal for school and now life in the Bay Area and I ALWAYS stop at this Arbys. Why? because i never eat arbys and this is my treat for putting up with 6-10 hours of driving. Last time I get here I remembered why I loved it. Great food and even better service. I was standing in line, kind of in a rush, and asked one of the attendants how long it would take to make the new pretzels. The attendant said less than a minute, and right after turned around and told someone to start an order of pretzels. She was so attentive and prepared. I think her name was Bri. I was coming back on I-5 after a recent trip down to So Cal and decided to stop for Arby's. Apparently this is the only one along I-5 in the central valley. It's located right next to Love's and is part of the same building. I went in and quickly decided on the Bacon Cheddar combo. Sounds good right? I certainly thought so. Once I got my meal and settled in to eat I dove right into the sandwich. And was disappointed. The bacon didn't have much flavor and the Arby's roast beef was lacking as well. I've been a long time fan of Arby's ever since I took my first bite and I usually go with the very tasty Chicken Cordon Bleu which has never failed to disappoint me at numerous Arby's locations. The flavorless Bacon Cheddar which I got was a shock. Deep down I'm hoping this was just a fluke and something that won't happen again, but we'll see. The curly fries were just average, nothing special to rave about. Fries just have to be really good for me to even take special note of them. I'm not saying I was disappointed with the fries, its just that I didn't think they were outstanding. I will gladly try Arby's again, one bad experience won't ruin it for me, but I might have to go with a different sandwich next time. read more

Great location as the first of 2 stops to and back from Las Vegas, or the halfway point to LA, and located at a gas station that's usually one of the cheapest at this exit. I had a pretty good experience on 2 out of 3 visits, using the 5 for $5.95 deal btw, but the one time that I tried the potato cakes, I got those bland hash brown wannabes that were actually cold in the middle. This Arby's is at a "rest stop" off I-5. It's well lit, has plenty of seating. It connects to the Love's gas station / convenience store that sells a lot of random stuff in addition to the usual convenience store food & drinks and has decently clean bathrooms. I got the King Hawaiian Roast Beef with extra meat. It was so good! Arby's is usually good, but symptoms of a bad Arby's include skimping on meat, not spreading the meat evenly in the sandwich, or dryer buns. This Arby's fell victim to none of the above! read more

I can't remember the last time i've even seen an arby's, let alone been in one. But on a stormy drive to LA we had to stop and gas up, take a bathroom break, and have a snack to keep us awake. I leave the fiance to get some fries. I meet her as she's waiting for them, and the server has like 6 inches of napkins and is like "is this enough?" we think hes being funny, and he is, but he starts putting them in the bag. She's like "maybe not that much and we get half of them. Then comes the sauce and we get like a gallon's worth in little packets. Good thing my baby likes sauce. Too funny though. I love stopping here on the way to L.A. or back. Firstly Lost Hills is the best place to stop because it definitely has the cheapest gas (from the bay to LA) without having to wander off the highway very far. As a side note, Love's (which is right by Arbys is the cheapest - further gas station on the right if you exit southbound). The restaurant is very clean, well-staffed and provides great quality Arbys. Burgers are great and among the best Arbys I have had. The convenient store next door (which is connected inside) has a perfectly good bathroom that'll beat any rest area on the road as well. They have two HDTVs inside too if that suits you as well. This Arby's needs work on both their foods and cleanliness. Had a to go order of the Smokehouse Brisket sandwich with large curly fries and a large Chocolate shake. They didn't fill the container of the curly fries up, it was about 3/4 full. The chocolate shake was also not full, it was missing a 1/4 of the cup. For what they charged they should at least fill up the containers. It was a good thing it was a to go order because all the empty tables were dirty. read more

Been back several times since last review and happy to report that the flies are gone! This exit (highway 46) is the still the only one along the 5 with a choice of 24 hr places, including this Arby's. Plus, this exit always seems to be having a gas war with Love's, Pilot, and Arco competing for the cheapest gas on the 5. read more
