The people in front of me weren't sure what to get and the owner was extremely helpful in explaining the menu and made some suggestions on things to try. The portions are huge and the prices are not. The prices look really reasonable so we figured we'd give it a shot. When we arrived, the storefront didn't look like anything special, nothing really appealing to bring someone in, just kind of blended in with the rest of the block... And after entering, it still didn't really reach out and grab us. Not a lot of decoration, a few tables with chairs and a couple of booths, and a counter to order from which is perfectly fine but I didn't know having never been there if they had a wait staff or anything. So we looked over the menu for a minute and ordered a couple of dishes. My wife I believe had a chicken and lamb platter, and I had the fish platter. So far up to this point everything was fine but nothing was really over the top awesome, and then we sat down and ate. Oh my gosh that food was good. My wife absolutely loves tzatziki sauce which of course they had, and the chicken and lamb was served with rice and you get choices like lettuce and tomato and hummus and chickpeas that they can add to your platter. My fish platter was incredible. Her and I both commented a couple times to the gentleman at the counter that the fish was cooked perfectly. It was nice and lite and flaky and I wish there were more than just the two pieces on there. The price of everything did not break the bank by any means, and they do offer wraps, burgers, and breakfast items. We will definitely be returning customers...

I'm definitely a fan any…read morecafe or similar space that integrates art into their environment, and there were quite a variety of lovely pieces at Carol's - many by the owner, but also included are other local artists. The menu, of course, also has "Carol's Favorite 'Comfort Food' Sandwiches" on the menu, all named after famous artists. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I'm a huge Van Gogh fan, so I ordered the "Van Gogh" sandwich that comes with oven roasted turkey breast layered on sourdough bread and lettuce, tomato, and mayo. The sandwich was good, but I have to say that proportions of the ingredients felt a bit off. I also noticed during the prep of my plate that the chips came from opening a bag (a bulk version similar to ripple chips you'd just buy at the store). In a cafe space like this, you can't necessarily expect people to be making everything from scratch... but I think it's just helpful to note to keep expectations in line. The drink that I ordered was made well (their beverage selection is at the very back of the menu). You can definitely tell that this is a community space, and it seemed like a number of locals filtered in throughout the lunch. There are notes on the tables that advise of a 90 minute limit for sitting at the table (not something I've ever actually seen before), and there's wifi available for use by customers. Perhaps an awkward experience was just related to the overall service? You grab a menu and choose your table if you're dining in, but you end up paying at the counter. Personally, if I'm going to sit down to eat then I'd prefer to have the check brought to the table and pay that way. The space is a bit cramped by the counter, so it seems like it'd benefit to minimize the foot traffic that has to wait there. And perhaps this is silly, but upon paying for the lunch, the server handed me my receipt and said "Just sign here", and then seemed to be somewhat... abrupt? I feel like I'm pretty low maintenance when dining out, but it just left me going "OH. Okay. Time for me to get out of the way" (it's worth noting that at the time, there was nobody waiting around, or to get to, the counter). Still, it was enjoyable to stop at Carol's Coffee & Art Bar. It's a more unique space with nice offerings.

The food served here is homemade and the prices are reasonable. The place has two dining rooms with booth seating, table seating and counter seating, kitchen in the back. The walls in the dining room are painted in dark pink color and local artwork (for sale) decorates the walls. There was a nice painting of the Delhi Covered Bridge on display in the main dining room. I've driven across that covered bridge many times. The breakfast offerings include the usual suspects: egg platters, omelets (with homefries & toast), breakfast sandwiches, burritos, biscuits sausage gravy, pancakes, French toast, corned beef hash, oatmeal, and muffins. The lunch offerings include a variety of hot sandwiches, burgers, melts, cold sandwiches, salads, soups, chili, and fries. All sandwiches include cole slaw, add a side for $1.25 more. Daily special items are offered too. The prices here are very reasonable, under $10. Boars Head deli meats used here. Pepsi fountain drinks and Mr Koffee (located nearby) coffee is brewed here. I decided to stop at Gigi's Place for lunch recently instead of my usual very popular diner near the highway. I sat myself at an open table in the main dining room. I was told by the waitress that anything with roasted beef (Philly steaks) were not available. For lunch, I decided on the Florida Reuben ($7) with cole slaw and fries (add $1.25). My food was served to me in about 10 minutes. The Florida Reuben was a big sandwich layered with thin deli slices of turkey, cole slaw, 1000 Island dressing, & melted Swiss cheese between two thick grilled slices of multigrain bread. The fries were deep fried to perfection, hot and crispy and salted just right. The homemade cole slaw (shredded cabbage & carrot) were creamy and sugary sweet too. The food I had was excellent and very fresh tasting. The service was friendly and courteous. I'm glad I stopped here and I will definitely have to return here again and try out the breakfast! NOTE: MC/Visa accepted, ATM on site

I will say it is a little weather dependent unless you want to eat barbecue under the pavilion in the rain but personally I think barbecue is best enjoyed in sunny weather. I got the pulled pork dinner with extra bbq sauce and fruit salad and potato salad. My dad got the chicken dinner with salt potatoes and Mac salad. Both dinners came with 2 sides. First off the portions are very generous you definitely won't leave hungry. The pulled pork was delicious and was gone in like 5 minutes! In my opinion the potato salad was a little I guess thick but that's really just a preference thing it was still really good! The fruit salad was pretty basic melons and some strawberries nothing special but again still good. My dad is a big fan of the chicken and this is like his go to bbq spot. The service was good and quick there's really not much of a wait after you order and the grill is full and visible as you go to order. If somehow you still want more after you can go to Big Dipper ice cream literally less than 50 ft away. I paid just a little under $40 and I do think there's a cash discount and I also left a couple bucks for a tip and we got drinks. Overall if you're looking for good legit bbq this is the place to come.

The pork was pulled style with an Asian profile of flavors. There was also some German bologna, which I don't think was really necessary but oh well. The sandwich was topped with a broccoli slaw mix, cucumbers, cilantro and sriracha. Yum! Everything was very fresh and flavorful. The only downside was the sandwich was kind of hard to eat because the roll was chewy. Just be prepared to get sriracha all over your face! The sandwich also came with a side of either baked beans or Mac salad. I tried the Mac salad and it was very good with fresh herbs and sweet pickle. On a side note, I had this sandwich as takeout so I haven't seen the shop itself. I don't know what gear they have, but I don't think they smoke the pork, so don't go here expecting a more authentic BBQ. That being said, I can't wait to try more!
