Okay so I've been here a few times, and honestly I should stop more often because I live rather close. They have what is in my opinion a better donut than Dunkin donuts down the road. (I'm still partial to Krispy Kreme however that's quite a drive from here.). The place is rather large, the dining area indoors looks like it's good for at least 30 people anyways and then the outdoor porch weather permitting is probably good for another 20. I arrived about 15 minutes after they opened and the line was forming pretty quickly however it also moved along pretty quickly. The person that takes your order is not the same person that gets your donuts and puts them in the box, so that seems to streamline things pretty well. There's a display up by the cash register with one of every donut that is currently being sold that morning/day so you can make your selection easier. The menu is a little more extensive than donuts, as they also have hoagies and shareables and of course coffee/ juices. For whatever reason, somebody decided to put donuts with beer... Yeah I don't know... But, if the mood strikes you they have a very fine selection that they rotate from time to time of draft beer. It's a pour your own kind of a thing and they also sell growlers. There's of course t-shirts and other random souvenirs that not only have the company logo/wording but Owego in general. Bottom of mind this place is definitely worth a visit. read more

Absolutely great concept! I love the blend of coffee, donuts, sandwiches, beer & wine, and even a build your own charcuterie station. We came for breakfast at 11 on a Sunday and got: - coffee cake donut - maple pecan donut - home fries - breakfast meat pizza - amazing! - coffee - tapped beer The breakfast pizza was the headline of the food for me. I anticipated an egg like omelet / quiche but it had a light bread bottom and the meat was crispy. It was well balanced and super tasty. We got a ton of beer tastes and it was great that you could pick your own beer glass and make your own flight. We both spent about $10 and had at least 6 beers we were able to taste. Have heard raves about Owego Donut & Beer from a colleague, so stopped to try it out recently. Love the beer selection, various coffee drinks, hoagie menu, and, of course, the donut selection. They truly seem to have options for all different kinds of tastes. (The pistachio-mortadella hoagie, by the way? *chef's kiss*... and the donuts I bought to share with friends/try were all delicious. Great flavor and texture.) The ambience of the place is also very inviting (love the little fireplace) and fun. Decent amount of space, though I've heard they can get very busy. My last visit was around 11am on a Saturday and it wasn't too crowded at all though. Service is friendly, organized, and fast. It took less than 5 minutes for everything in my order to be prepped and available at the pick-up counter. This place! Visited some friends in Binghamton and they took us out to this spot in Owego and I can now say I understand why they were excited to take us here. We had a couple different donuts which were super fresh and delicious. The coffee was great as well. The real hit was the sandwich and pretzel. The hot honey Italian sub was phenomenal, bread was fresh, perfect proportions and the hot honey sauce was a great touch. Also, for the price, it was a lot of food. We also started with the pretzel which we all loved. I was a big fan of the mustard they use and the beer cheese, while not my favorite, was good as well. The first time my husband and I tried to come here it was packed and we couldn't get in. We are so glad we tried again because after experiencing ODB, it's so easy to see why they are so busy. The people that work there could not be friendlier or more welcoming. The donuts are so pretty. Very Instagram worthy. They offer delicious flavors and have new offerings regularly. They also have savory food as well! My husband and I got breakfast sandwiches that were large, hot, and buttery. So good! They also have the best fresh squeezed OJ in the area. This very cool place just opened in Owego! They obviously serve donuts and beer (with the only beer wall in the area), and also hoagies, share plates, and coffee/tea. They're keep long hours so you can go in for a morning donut and coffee, lunch or light dinner, or an evening snack and drink. It's comfortable inside and there's a nice patio that will be great when the weather warms up. My dad and I checked this out for lunch. We kept hearing that it was always packed but were surprised to find it nearly empty at lunchtime on a Wednesday - maybe it's just the evenings that get busy. Without a crowd there, we got lots of help from the very friendly staff as we were ordering and figuring out how to use the beer wall. The beer wall is easy to use - you get a pour card, and just tap it on the wall displays for the beer you want, then pour your own using your choice of glass. They have tons of styles and each beer sounds very distinct, so no struggling to choose between 2 beers that sound almost the same. There are a few big name beers for those who really prefer to stick to what they know, but the bulk of the selections are independent breweries, of which there are both "plain" beers and more unique choices, so there's really something for everyone. Of the beers, I had a small glass of Lucky Hare Brewing's "Milk Milk" (milk stout) and Good Nature Farm's "Good Natured Blonde" (blonde ale). The blonde ale was described as "easy-drinking" and so it was pretty light. Very nice if you like a simple blonde ale. I was getting a sort of citrusy note to it which was interesting. The milk stout was rich with a bittersweet coffee flavour. Perfect beer to pair with a donut. For food, I got the Kale Yeah hoagie, the one vegetarian hoagie on the menu, which is very similar to a caprese sandwich. I really liked the kale pesto, not at all bitter like you might expect from kale (I don't mind the bitterness of kale at all, but if you don't like it, don't let this turn you off of this sandwich), and not super oily either, it went very well with the mildly tangy burrata and juicy diced tomatoes. The bread they use is great! And I tried the "ring of fire" donut for dessert, a chocolate donut coated in cinnamon cayenne sugar. The donut had the perfect fluffy texture with just a little crunch outside, and a rich chocolate flavour. The spiced sugar coating wasn't spicy enough to leave your mouth burning, but there was a little kick to each bite! This is a great addition to the area! I'm looking forward to coming back next time I'm in town. read more

Such a great place. We came up for Spiediefest and were pleasantly surprised! The taps on the wall are such a great idea. One of the taps is for Prosecco for those of us that don't drink beer. The donuts look delicious, they even have a gluten free option which was really good. My family ordered sandwiches and said they were good. We sat outside for a while and had a great time. The owner came up to us a few times and was so friendly and welcoming. Owego needed a place like this so badly! Thanks for being here. I understand it's owned by the same people who have the Owego Kitchen on Lake Street so once I heard that, I couldn't get there fast enough. I am not a beer drinker so the donuts were my focal point. The day I went they had flavors like "Holy Cannoli" , "pb&j" , "churro ring of fire", "German chocolate", "Boston cream" and a few others. It was really hard to decide which to get (see pic). In addition to the donuts they had multiple coffee and fancy coffee/ espresso drinks including- get this - affogatos! OMG, my kryptonite! I went for a Holy Cannoli donut and an affogato (with vegan ice cream, but they also had regular ice cream if you prefer). My donut eating partner in crime had the German chocolate. To be honest I am a donut SNOB so yeah, I ate about two bites of the donut and called it a day. The cake was very dense (although soft) and it was so sweet the flavors were getting lost and my brain was just signaling "sweet" instead of "flavor". The German chocolate was way overboard, and went one note after about three bites. Yes it was ooey-gooey with tons of coconut but also described as cloyingly sweet and too rich to enjoy. Sometimes too much is too much. The donuts were NOT oily/ greasy though, so huge props for that. The espresso for the affogato was acidic/bitter, so that was another fail for me. That being said, would I go back and try other menu items? You bet! Now that I have a baseline about what to expect I will dial my order down a notch and try some more simple flavors. read more

Finally made it down to Owego donut and beer. We have friends that live in Newark Valley that absolutely love it so we decided to meet them yesterday for lunch. This is my NEW FAVORITE PLACE and I'm just bummed that it's a 35 minute drive away from home. We got there at 12:30 yesterday and there was plenty of seating inside and out (they have a really cute deck area). As we were waiting for our friends, a super friendly guy walked by and said "hey folks, how are you, welcome" and his demeanor made me smile. We placed our order with one of the helpful cashiers; I got the Kale Yeah hoagie (a delicious blend of burrata, pesto, roasted pepper, and tomatoes) and hubby got the Mooz, a loaded Italian sub. I forgot what our friends got, but both of their meals looked amazing as well. I also chose a dragon fruit flavored lemonade, which was so delicious. All of us were totally stuffed after eating our huge sandwiches, but I saw that they had homemade gelato for affogato, so I opted for one made with salted caramel gelato. Possibly one of the best desserts ever! The owner came over to say hello and ask us how we liked our food. He was also hustling and bustling helping clear tables, etc. and I can see why this is such a successful place. He obviously cares so much about his customers, his food and just the general vibe. I cannot recommend this place enough, we will definitely be making the drive down again soon and hopefully this time we will actually get some donuts and beer! read more

Who would have thought donuts and beer go together? Well they do! This is a really interesting place. First of all they have some great Italian sandwiches and subs with specials just about every day. The decor is attractive but a little too bright inside but hey, I guess you need light to read the couple of dozen taps. You get to serve yourself from a great selection of mostly New York craft beers. The donuts are surprisingly world class. Try the peaches and cream, it's to die for. The subs are great too. Two of us has a couple of beers, a couple of subs and a donut and walk out of there for about $28 so big thumbs up there. I can't wait for the weather to get a little better so we can sit on the deck but they do have heaters out there. All in all a great experience and will be visiting there frequently. read more

Last night was my first time at ODB. I am writing my review today after returning here for brunch. I'd been wanting to come here for a while now, as I was intrigued by the walls of tap beer, shown in a pay-for-what-you-pour concept, and fresh donuts with a creative flair. My order from last night was a prosciutto/burrata/arugula/pesto Italian hoagie. It was great. Let's focus on my brunch order, though. The apple cider whoopie pie donut was a hit. The proportions were just right, and each bite followed with pleasant crunches from the cinnamon sugar topping. It paired well with the fresh squeezed orange juice and also my glass of Lucky Hare. Now onto the breakfast wrap. It looked ordinary--nothing special. But hands down, it was the best breakfast wrap I've ever had. The tortilla wasn't too thick or thin, which made it possible to appreciate the flavors and ingredients inside the wrap. Not to mention, the salsa did a dance with my breakfast wrap. I also appreciated the arugula and orange slice garnish, and I enjoyed nibbling and grazing on some arugula after each bite of wrap. ODB is the crown jewel of Owego eatery, and it's not even close. From ODB's concept, to the cozy seating and warm ambience, to the menu and fresh ingredients, it's clear that the staff cares about the details. I liked the lay-out of the place. The use of a "beer card" to tap into your own drinks, as often as you like is a great idea. You pay for what you actually drink. Oftentimes, you order a glass of beer or wine which is filled to the top, but you drink only a small portion of it. With this system, you do not waste. My lower rating involves two items I ordered. One was the Cuban sandwich. While the fillings were tasty, they were cold in the middle. This was because the bread was toasted, not pressed. The roll was hard and burnt from the exterior heat, and too high, making it awkward to get into your mouth. I have had many Cuban sandwiches in Tampa, and they are evenly pressed, making the cheese melt and the inner fillings warm. The other issue was the affogato cafe. The espresso was made first, so by the time the ice cream was scooped into the cup, the coffee was already cold. The espresso should be hot when poured over the gelato, allowing the ice cream to melt into the coffee. Perhaps some tweaks can be made. A good sandwich press would keep all of the sandwiches from being too high and awkward to manage. read more
