Posted on the window just to say, I thought the workers were too stressed to do a good job. The HR guy answered the phone. So there really has no call Center but the owner has nine local stores. He literally stayed on the phone with me for 11 minutes telling me that my incorrect order was the fault of course staffing " because people don't want to work anymore" incorporate for new items they aren't trying to prepare. He was defending every single thing about management's approach. Definitely not the guy that should be answering the complaint line without being trained how to talk to customers. He never offered a refund, a coupon or even an apology. I am specifically speaking of McDonald's at I 96 & Okemos Road.

And it's frustrating. Make no mistake, they do not want to talk to you. Except minimally at the drive through. They really don't want to talk to you there either. They want you to have used their app and give them the ticket number. I use the app once in a while. But it is cumbersome. Between a Dr visit and work this morning I thought an egg McMuffin breakfast sounded good. I hate the after smell of grease in my car so I went in. The place was barren. Lobby empty. Counter empty and all the workers could be seen around corner in the kitchen. I perused the fast changing digital menu. And waited at the counter. For 4 minutes. People looked at me and walked away. Not a good morning, we will be with you, eat poop and die, nothing. And I knew they wanted me to use that damn menu kiosk. All fast food places do. And they along with Taco Bell and others do it too. They will purposefully ignore you. So you can spend 10 minutes maneuvering their cumbersome digital nonsense. So I did. And at the end it said "sorry this machine is unable to process digital funds. Please take this order receipt to the checkout". I was furious. I turned and went to the desk again. Smoke must have been coming out my collar. Again they ignored me. Until finally someone came out with food for another customer they lay on a tray. And said "do you need help"? I said yes. Because I don't work here. I handed him the receipt and he said "ok, 7.99". I paid and said "you know, this used to be the BEST fast food place when I was growing up, while my kids were little, and now it's a sleek looking poorly run machine. Nobody has manners or etiquette. We truly are just ticket numbers, Ive been trying to order a meal for 10 minutes. What happened to customer service"? He said "yeah. This will be out shortly"...and in 7 minutes more, it was. So what's the end game? McDonald's doesn't want you IN the lobby. Sharing meals with your family. Making messes and noise. Having to speak to you. Learn and practice politeness and basic human communication skills. They advertise the 5 dollar meal but hide it by not putting it on their menu. You have to ask for it like a dirty word. Their sandwiches are smaller but cost more. Again, you probably know all this, but I needed to let you know along with everything else, the greed and corporations continue to consume us rather than appreciating a customer who can and will go somewhere else. McNOPE.

That is the picture of our cold fries and burgers. I think they put ice in her bag. My sister-in-law Samara thought it was ice cream.

I gotta say for the past seven years I have been a Culver's fan. Though I really can't tell the…read moredifference between a butter, burger, deluxe, and a Deluxe hamburger, the taste has always brought me back. In the beginning, it was a little bit more pricey for the food, but it just tasted better. So I didn't mind. The last few times, they cannot seem to get it together while charging higher and higher prices. Last night we visited again, reluctantly. Jimmy John's was across the driveway and a Cracker Barrel across the street. I would've sufficed for that, but my wife wanted some of the extras that only Culver's can give. For a family of four, our bill used to be around $45. Last night it was almost 65. And in a day and age where people are really counting their pennies, it didn't sit right. Let me set the atmosphere for you, we came in to the lobby. Always impeccably clean. We were greeted by the cashier. She was young, helpful and kind. So far so good. Much better than the girl that was at the drive-through window the week before when I just came through late at night to pick up a couple of Sundays you know, the two scoop caramel with cashews? But that's a whole Nother story. Two scoops of ice cream, a bunch of cashews and a hint of caramel for $13? Definitely not worth it. Nor was her attitude. Getting back to last night we ordered four combos. Our girl was very fast and very courteous. So fast that I couldn't keep up with adding the next thing to my order. We asked for two sets of onion rings and two french fries. With multiple burgers, which then became combos. Somehow, we got 5 cups for four people and a slushie drink. The lobby was not busy, which is a rarity for Culver's. We thought this will be easy Peezy. My wife saw the tally and told me not to look at the card reader and just pay it. Lol. This building used to be one of the best. Customer Service was so high. I felt like I was at a Chick-fil-A. (who still holds the bar for accuracy and politeness) my wife wanted to check through the large bags we got before we went out to the car, because they almost always forget something or give you something different. I didn't want to stay in there any longer so we got into the car and yes, we got one onion ring, and three french fry. We sought to go around to the drive-through and have it exchanged, but the line was long and our food would get cold before we get anything done. And that's not really too big of a deal because we like the french fries but also like to get what we ordered and paid for. We got home and as usual, the deluxe burgers that I've loved was once again burnt to a crisp on the outside rim of the burger, and very salty. It's been this way the last three times I've been to Culver's. I know McDonald's can be garbage, but they never burn their burgers. I really don't know what's happened that this has become a consistent thing. Since I have moved to Lansing, Culver's have popped up all over the state. Maybe they are just getting too big to care? I hope not. But the younger generation have attitudes in every bit of their lives, especially in a workplace that they don't appreciate. Many complain that they don't get paid enough to do a good job. I don't know that's the case for Culver's. But something is amiss in their kitchen.
