It's always a treat when getting GTP. The pies are amazing including the chicken pot pie. Great comfort food as well as healthier options. It's a must try if you haven't already.

    Yummy selection of pies!

My current go to place for dinner after a long day work. I've tried wraps, quiches, and of course the pie! Cherry pie is my favorite so I've only had that, but every time it is so delicious just like the rest of the food. I always get it to go so I can't comment on the service, but the people that check me out and put my food in a bag for me are always super nice! Their only fault is not existing in Texas!

    Smoked ham and havarti.
    Erin B.

First of all, let me compliment the staff. They always make my day, even when I'm being ridiculously indecisive (their menu seems to have expanded lately, making this harder - maybe one of the few reasons it didn't get 5 stars). I loved that they're Michigan owned and that a lot of the food has a Michigan theme. It feels like home. Usually for lunch I'll have the smoked ham and havarti because I love the apple butter mustard combo so much, but for breakfast I get the breakfast sandwich, and Lucy's Cuban is great as well (but isn't a traditional Cuban, for the purists). Overall, a little kitschy, but for a fast casual (that yes, is pretty fast), solid place to stop in.

If you want corned beef or pastrami, greasy grocery store deli meat just doesn't cut it. Checking Yelp delis. I looked in every direction and decided to drive to East Lansing as my corned beef withdrawal pains were getting worse. Stateside Deli sits in a shopping plaza a few miles southeast from MSU. When we arrived both booths and tables were available just after the lunch rush. Just guessing, i'd say there are between 25-30 tables and booths. Even though I didn't need to, I studied the menu knowing that I would probably only get corned beef or pastrami. The soups however looked great as well. I ordered my corned beef extra lean partially as a test and mostly because that is how I like it. Served on toasted rye, that' is exactly how it came. My first bites were euphoric. It only got better. My wife ordered half a sandwich (tuna melt on wheat) along with matzah ball soup. She loved hers as well. I can tell because both the bowl and plate were empty when she was done. She will often not finish if the food is "just OK" Service was excellent and "seamless". One server saw my drink almost empty and quickly returned with another. Another server asked if we needed anything as she was walking by. Our server also kept checking with us to see if we needed anything or if we were enjoying our lunch. If this is the closest deli, so be it. We will be back as often as practical. Only drawback is the hour drive each way and approximately $28 worth of gas.

Zoup! is one of my colleagues' favorite lunch spots, so I think I'll be coming here pretty often. I…read moredefinitely understand why, they have a fun selection of sandwiches, salads, and soups. The soup selection (unsurprisingly enough) is definitely the most interesting, and they have six soups that rotate daily, which I love, since I hate getting the same old unless it's the ultimate comfort food. They also let you sample soups, which I don't think I've ever experienced, but I'm such a fan. I've sampled the tomato bisque so far, which is solid, and actually had orders of the lobster bisque and the New England clam chowder. The soups come with an order of bread - French or multigrain - and all the soups I've had are good. I probably won't dream of these soups (or any of their other foods) but that's okay. I've also had their chicken toscana sandwich, which was good. Seems like all their food has a good threshold of quality, and the value is pretty fair. I've also tried the cranberry almond sonoma salad - a half salad is a healthy portion, and I like their ability to mix and match soups, salads, and sandwiches for a nice variety. Zoup! knows its model and is doing it well. I also like that they have the nutritional value of all their foods online, and in person, which is helpful for anyone who wants to be more health-conscious.

Most of us liked the tacu tacu over the picarones because of the savory flavor and crispy exterior. Both apps could use a side of the dipping sauce since whatever was poured on top was not enough. The red lentil soup with a hint of sourness was a hit among all of us. I preferred the aji de champinones (mushrooms) vs the gallina (chicken) because the mushroom had soaked up the flavors of the sauce while the chicken, though well cooked, seemed quite under seasoned. The ceviche, sour as expected, was fresh and tasty, we wish the portion size was larger. Everything was packed in compostable containers which is always a cherry on top. I'm sure we'll be back again!

The staff was amazing at explaining the dishes and helping us decide what to get. Our favorite part was the salsa rocoto which haf a vibrant spicy flavor and next time we hope to get more sauce on the side. The fritters were delicious crunchy and savory and the aji de gallina was slightly spicy and very flavorful. Reminded me a little of Indian flavors. I contacted Panera support and they offered me a "7 dollar coupon" for my next order. What the f*ck makes you think I'm ever ordering here again?! What does that solve?!
