The drink menu however was blank... like nothing inside. When we alerted the waitress she laughed and said "oh well that's not great." But didn't do anything to fix it. We originally said we were going to stick with water but the water was gross! So we ordered sodas instead. The decor here is cute and it appeared to be clean/well taken care of. There are a lot of seating options between booth, high top and low top as well. They also have a fair amount of big screens and pull tabs. This place also smelled amazing but the food just did not capture that. We started with the smoked wings and got the sauces on the side. My boyfriend really liked them. I felt they were just ok. They were moist and a decent sized wing, but lacking any real smoke flavor. The garlic parm sauce was our fav and the ranch here is solid. We got the little pig. Another person noted "bland" and unfortunately we agree. There was absolutely no flavor the any of the meats! This place has the word "smokery" in it, and yet no smokiness at all. The other strange part was the texture. The pork and ribs were both mushy... my boyfriend said it was giving, "reheated" vibes. I don't know if that's true, but I've never had meat have a texture like that. The brisket in my opinion was actually decent. Though I wish it had more flavor, the texture was pretty good. The corn bread muffins were excellent and the sweet potato fries were also good. This place relies heavily on you putting lots of sauce on the meat, that's where the flavor comes in. I didn't care for the sauces very much either though. Unfortunately this was a let down. When you spend over $100 for food, you are expecting a quality experience. We will not be back.

The sauce tasted like mayonnaise and I didn't care for it. It was like canned corn with some stuff on it, but one miss on an otherwise home run of a meal wasn't bad. The Queso Blanco was a perfect consistency and the chips were good if lacking salt. Note that the queso is about 1/4 cup, a small portion perfect for me. I tasted all three salsas and loved them, especially the salsa verde.

I also tried their Mac and Cheese. Thats pretty good its dauced just right and i think its pimento cheese. Our server had to come back to our table multiple times to get our breakfast order put into the kitchen (one trip for potato choice, one trip for eggs and I still didn't even get the right kind, one trip for toast, one trip for the meat, I felt like I was being punk'd), the food was extremely underdone but somehow took forever to prepare so I really just had toast and coffee for breakfast (almost raw hashbrowns, raw onions, barely melted cheese) and it was over $50 for two of us to have breakfast with a tip. When we moved here three years ago it was one of our solid spots for a bite to eat but I don't think I'd go back again after the last two experiences. I will say anything with shredded chicken isn't my favorite (not enough seasoning on the chicken for my taste) but everything else we've tried is a hit! We always start off with the chips and salsa flight and add cheese sauce - it's NOT a queso, there's no peppers or spice. The creamy green sauce is our favorite salsa they make, it's delicious on everything. The torta is a great choice if you're unsure what to get, the pineapple bowl is awesome if you're trying to share with others. Tacos and burritos are always a hit - I love the crunch of the pork belly and the flavor of the al pastor, taco toppings are onion and cilantro unless you get the loaded taco with slaw. The burrito could probably feed two people with an appetizer. It's a little higher priced than your typical plate of tacos but the quality of the food is always top notch, the kitchen is open and clean, and I've never left hungry or without leftovers. I also thought the patties themselves were very good, thin with a slight crisp to them with a soft bun and melty sauces and cheese. Since it was a happy hour option the burger did not come with any sides like it would have as an entrée. We also got fish tacos and we were a big fan of the slaw and pineapple mayo which brought a balance of sweet and savory to the dish. Only came with two tacos (at least for happy hour) which might not be enough food if you're hungry. The hot smoked salmon was one of the more unique items we tried. The salmon itself was super tasty - salty and smoky just what you want. They use the smaller scraps of salmon that wouldn't work in their Wood-Fired King Salmon entrée and incorporate it into this appetizer which is great sustainability-wise! The salmon came with a creamy ricotta, salty capers, crunchy crostini, and sweet and acidic pickled red onions. We liked this combination a lot but felt it could have used even more sweetness/acidity, maybe just adding a couple more onions to the dish. We really enjoyed the 'Garganelli' pasta dish. It was creamy and indulgent with pieces of lobster and freshly shaved parmesan on top. The chili added a really nice layer of heat but wasn't overpowering. The server was nice enough to split up everything we had over the evening to share (which explains the two small portions in the photo). MN Mule - 8/10 Pretty average but solid mule.
