I placed and paid for an online order, and I sent my son to pick it up. He had a screenshot of the receipt and proof that the order had already been paid for. Despite that, an employee refused to release the order because she assumed my son was homeless and judged him based solely on his appearance. There was absolutely no legitimate reason to withhold an order that had already been paid for. When I called the restaurant to speak with the manager, the employee refused to transfer my call and instead hung up on me. After I called back, I was finally connected with the manager, Rosa. Rather than listening to my concerns and trying to resolve the situation professionally, she argued with me and raised her voice. The situation became even more disturbing when Rosa threw a cup at my son while he was inside the restaurant. This behavior is completely unacceptable and should never happen to any customer. I have requested that Popeyes Corporate investigate this incident by reviewing the surveillance footage and speaking with the employees involved. I expect accountability and appropriate action. No one should ever be judged based on their appearance or treated with such disrespect. I hope Popeyes takes this complaint seriously and ensures that no other family has to experience what we did.
