I love Wienerschnitzel. While visiting Tucson I had to stop in. I checked the reviews and didn't see a photo of the menu so I took some. The online menu didn't mention the pastrami sandwich which I love. Not a huge sandwich like a deli, just the right size and very good. Hot dog is basic with decent chili. I placed a pick up order for a time when the dining room was still open. I didn't have a car this weekend. They closed the dining room and made it basically impossible for me to pick up my order. I had to loiter near the drive-thru which I had no interest in doing to try to get their attention and then they were annoyed that I was there without a car. If you're going too close your dining room early, that's fine, but you shouldn't allow online pick up orders to process. They also got my order wrong and gave me ice cream with Oreos instead of ice cream with Reese's cups. Unfortunately, I am allergic to gluten so although I otherwise would've been fine with the substitution, for me, it is not acceptable at all. read more

Went through the drive-thru, and the service was quick and easy. Staff were very friendly and I received my food super quick. The food was quite good, and I live pretty far from this location so that was a surprise to find that my food was still hot and fresh. I think the only reason I gave this place 3 stars is due to value, it's just a bit expensive for the amount of food you get. I don't necessarily blame them but just the times we live in. Just did the drive thru so can't comment on any interior details. Drive thru was quick and friendly. We got a corn dog, chili dog, and chili cheese fries for $3.99 and a pineapple lemonade for a couple bucks. A lot of food for little money. I really enjoyed the pineapple lemonade, not too tart or sweet. Nice mix of pineapple and lemonade and there were pineapple bits at the bottom. Nice for a hot Tucson summer day. My husband liked all of the food. I had some chili cheese fries and those were good and I especially liked the corn dog. Solid. Overall this place is good for what it is--fast food. I rarely give 3 star reviews because to me they seem so "middle of the road" but that about perfectly sums it up- it's not good food and it's not bad either- it's like fair food . Yes this is standard fast food fare but the two hot dogs I ordered with ketchup & relish were very good. Normally I can only eat one hot dog on a bun but I knew this particular place serves a mean hot dog so I got two and I wasn't disappointed. My granddaughter also ate her entire large corn dog (not the minis). So I rewarded her with a "pink" ice cream cone, something she saw on a poster on the front door. Each was super fresh, excellent bun, hot fries, good quality dog. Further, the restaurant was clean and comfortable. No cooking smell, no trash, clean all the way around. Staff were friendly, and they even bring your food to your table. I'm posting this because IMO it ticks all the boxes for a family fast food place. My meal, including drink, came to just over $6. When we entered today, there were no booths open and I thought even if one opens, it won't get clean. WRONG. A booth opened and was cleaned immediately! I was very impessed! Wienerschnitzel is not one of my normal places to eat and, moreover, I don't do a ton of fast food. When I was a kid my buddies and I would load up on Chili Cheese Dogs after surfing, as they were like a buck a piece back then and, of course, it was 'Der' Wienerschnitzel. Perhaps that became too German? In any case, I thought, what the heck and pulled into the drive through. The lady on the speaker started with, "What can I get started for you?" which I think is awesome. It makes you feel like they are making your food after you order and it's not sitting there ready, as you order. I responded with my order and, immediately, her response was, "I cannot hear a word that you're saying." I responded, "Not one word? You didn't get one word of what I said." She said, "No." So, I then raised my voice and gave her the same order. She replied, "Is that all?" I said, yes. No 'thank you' or 'pull forward' or anything. I get to the window and she tells me how much it is, thus I pay. No smile. Not one bit of niceness or warmth from this woman, at all. While I'm sitting there waiting for my food, I hear her snap at someone else on the speaker. This time she spoke four broken words... "I Can't Hear You!" And, truly, I was talking right at the speaker and only a few feet away when I ordered, so it's actually their intercom, speaker or, whatever, that's the problem. And this sour face, unhappy witch is taking it out on us? The freaking customer!!!! If the management of this site reads this, they will know, exactly, who I'm talking about. When you are that miserable and you feel it's acceptable to speak to customers in that manner, you'd have no problem speaking to your coworkers in that manner. In this entire review, I haven't mentioned the food, which was fine. It is what it is and it was fine. No complaints on the food. I just can't believe that someone is allowed to speak customers in that manner, as it's obvious fellow employees, even management, is in the area and hearing this. Here's a tip from someone who knows retail and understands the importance of the customer experience. "I'm sorry, I'm having trouble hearing you due to road traffic and the weather, could you please repeat that and I'll listen carefully." Not, "I cannot hear a word that you're saying!" That's not MY problem, it's your crappy communication system and you've now crapped on two customers simply trying to buy some food from you! NEVER AGAIN! The inside is dirty, the drive thru speaker and microphone are cheap, and the restrooms? I wouldn't want to rest in them. This is, Wienerschnitzel. You won't find anything pleasant about dining in here, with dirty tables and restrooms that probably haven't been cleaned for days, but, they're the only Der in the NorthWest, so this'll have to do. They've come out with a cotton candy ice cream thingy, and boy, it's horribly sweet, but I'll give them 1 star for being kind enough to pour a gallon of ketchup over my dog. If you want good, clean, well prepared food, head to Sullivans down at River Rd or Sullivans across the street (River is steak, Orange Grove is IceCream). My credibility is down the drain with this review. Okay this is the deal, every once in a while I get a craving for a hot dog and Wienerschnitzel makes a pretty darn good one. Is it the best, nooooo, but they are convenient and their chili dogs with onions just hit the right spot. Plus their French fries are pretty good and I remember many years ago this used to be of the few fast food places you could get mountain dew at.
