I have had multiple encounters with their salesmen. They are very pushy and rude, and do not take no for an answer.

I'm furious. A guy on a hoverboard comes flying up my driveway, activating every one of my RING cameras. I DO NOT HAVE ANY CONTRACTS WITH THIS COMPANY APTIVE AND NEVER GAVE THEM PERMISSION TO STEP FOOT ON NY PROPERTY. The guy jumps off his hoverboard and proceeds to walk up one of my two staircases, holding a flat black legal sized paper shaped piece of equipment or some kind of pest strip or trap...I'm not sure what he was carrying. At this point, he's at at the side of my house for 7-10 minutes and then goes back down my staircase, but this time the black item he was carrying is no longer in his hands or visible/evident. I don't know what it is or what he did with it or on my property! He gets back on the hoverboard and darts away. I have extensive videos of the guy and I had enhanced videos made and saw his green Aptive work shirt with a two digit number on the back of the shirt. When I called Customer Service to ask who he was, why he was on my property and what he was doing, I was told that they wouldn't know and when I asked to speak to a supervisor or owner of the franchise in my area, I was told I cannot. I've reported this to the police and we're going to meet shortly. read more

DO NOT USE THEM! I'm extremely disappointed with this service. When I first called, the representative specifically assured me that they treat ornamental shrubs and target pests like psyllids and leafminers on my boxwoods. However, when the technicians arrived today, one of them insisted I sign paperwork without even understanding what I was asking about. It quickly became clear they were not prepared or equipped to treat the actual issue. Instead, they sprayed for roaches around the exterior -- which has nothing to do with what I requested. This was a complete waste of time and money, and I feel misled. read more

Do not sign up for this scam company. Signed up in June had a service done, July comes get billed for July and have a scheduled appointment, only for the appointment to be canceled by the tech. End of July no service, called the customer service number and get the well they can come anywhere from 30-60 days but you still pay for the month they didn't come. Do not fall their nonsense. read more

TLDR; Aptive's technicians missed a giant yellow jacket nest that endangered the safety of my family and were not thorough enough in monthly treatments to prevent a small-scale ant invasion in our garage. They are staffed by a team of new and untrained exterminators, and I cannot stress enough that you should not trust them with the safety of your home and loved ones. *** We contracted with Aptive earlier this summer after one of their door-to-door sales teams came by. Having just moved into our home in the fall, we signed on. In retrospect, this was red flag #1. Initially, we were happy with the service. Bug presence did decrease and we found their people very nice, but I found that I never saw the same person twice and that most of them were relatively new to the company. Some of the newer guys told me that they came from completely different fields. Red flags #2 and #3. I didn't think much of this until the last two weeks, after I had asked our most recent technician (a plumber until about three months ago!) to assess a sound in our second floor ceiling that we had been hearing for a month or two. He dismissed the idea that it was bugs and suggested it was an issue with our HVAC (which is working perfectly). He did not assess the outside of the house in that area to see if there was any bug activity. Red flag #4. Well. Later that week, we're bbqing, and I look up to see bees going in and out of a hole near that area of the house. I call Aptive in a panic, asking them to come out and treat it. They say they'll send someone, but they don't do ladders and they won't endanger their people. Red flag #5 because we are paying them to keep dangerous bugs away from us. We called an amazing mom + pop shop (QualityPro Pest + Wildlife Control; highly recommend), who diagnosed that it was bees from a video I took of the sound. People, it wasn't just bees, it was YELLOW JACKETS, and based on the size of the nest, they were less than 48hrs from breaking through the ceiling and getting into our living space. In one area of the ceiling, there was just a single layer of ceiling paint stopping them from coming in. Naturally, the same day we saw the bees on the outside of the house, we also spotted a small-scale ant invasion in our garage, which would have been prevented if Aptive actually fulfilled their contractual obligations and sprayed the perimeter of our home. We happily paid the $199 fee to cancel our contract and forever sever our relationship with Aptive. In the Westchester area and needing quality pest control? Don't make our mistake. Listen to these reviews, do your research, and look elsewhere for an competent and knowledgeable exterminator. You won't regret it. read more

It's weird, these guys are going door to door on hoverboards, I've never seen anything like it. If (when) you say no they ask follow up questions, etc. I'm never buying anything from door to door salespeople. They're like car salesman only they come to you, imagine that? It's annoying. They claim people in the neighborhood use them, I can't find any proof of that. read more

Awarded one star, only because zero stars is not an option. Hired them to rid my home of fleas. After a month and a half and 11 appointments that were scheduled and forgotten, scheduled without my input at times I could not be home, scheduled with people I waited for who informed me they were not qualified to do fleas, and two guys who came and sprayed some stuff and told me it was safe for people and pets. (I ignored them and we all got out of the house, thank god! I now know it was dangerous.) Finally, a man came to my house to tell me that none of what they did before or would do that day would ever have solved my flea problem. Now they are threatening me and telling me I need to have expensive treatments done or I am in breach of contract. They have yet to do what I asked for!!!! I tried to cancel the service since I sold a house and I had 3 calls dropped while waiting for them to respond. Horrible experience. The service itself was fine. But after this bad experience I will not subscribe again since any issues will be difficult to resolve via their customer service. read more

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THEM!!! Aptive Environmental Is trying to charge me for a service they cant prove they provided. I have a contract for them to come out to my house every 3 months for pest control. but on 10/27/20 they claim they came to my house, but they never called to make an appointment, nor did they come into the house to do their pest control, nor did they leave the usual card that states who did the service and the technicians name, and they didn't leave the flags around my property letting me and other people know that they came. I've called them and they've called me multiple times since that date and told them if they can prove they came I'll pay and they can't. so now they've sent this to collections. read more

I've had a service agreement for 6 year where they are supposed to come and spray every 4 months. However, they change it to every 2 months all the time so they can bill more. When I call to reschedule, customer service which used to be in America is now in a foreign country and very difficult to deal with. Canceling my contract. read more

It has all the calling cards of a pseudo-scam operation. Intentionally deceitful contract practice and it's difficult to get out of it. I signed up with salesman for "initial treatment and quarterly follow-up treatments". That absorbs in my head as 1 treatment and 3 others at each quarter. Nope, apparently quarterly means 5. Initial treatment, then 4 quarterly treatments that start a month later. I still have bugs, not sure what they do but I'm honoring my 12 month agreement. I get a text today "Aptive service today...." what? 12 months is over but somehow they are coming for the rest of my life? No contract renewal? That's a scam to me. Annual means annual and quarterly means quarterly. On hold for 15 minutes to request cancellation. It's silly. read more

A nice young man came to my door soliciting Aptiv and a special program they are offering- one year of treatment for $99.00 down from $400. They come out 4 times a year- each season to treat the exterior. I signed up, then read my contract which stated that the initial treatment was $99 and each additional was $139 which he clearly checked off on the contract. Also- I asked which treatment they used and asked if it was organic but he couldn't really answer. I read about a previous customer who lost 2 dogs after having seizure attacks after their Aptiv treatment. That was enough for me to cancel my service. Deceptive. Read your contract !!! read more

My appointment was scheduled the day after a hurricane with heavy rain expected which prohibited the technician from completing the premium package service I paid for specifically the mosquito spraying. He was very courteous and said he would return in a few days to complete the spraying and dig up the yellow jacket nest that my yard has been plagued with since the last service call. The nest was sprayed twice and it continues to be re-inhabited by the yellow jackets. Later that day I receive a text message from Aptive telling me the service call can not be completed until 9/10 more than two weeks away. I asked for a earlier appointment but was told they couldn't schedule it. A few days later the yellow jackets continue to swarm my garden and seating area and I am left waiting two more weeks before the nest will be dug up and my children and I continue to deal with two more weeks of being attacked by mosquitos! I will not be renewing with Aptive! read more

Glad this contract is over. I would like to give zero stars if I could. I will be canceling Monday. I wrote a review not sure if it was deleted but this whole thing is built on a scam and lies. The kid salesman, his name was bitner lied about the whole thing. Found out from Aptive supervisor they do not guarantee anything that flies like bees, wasp, mosquitoes etc. Bitner stated otherwise. Since it's been warm here in ny past couple days. All I got is stuff flying around my property and I just had my last treatment this past Friday. Too much negative stuff to say but do yourself a favor STAY AWAY from this company read more
