I always find something at this ARC store!!! They have a large furniture section in the back of the store if you're looking for something. And it's always been so reasonably priced. Better than that other thrift store further north on Broadway. There's also often goodies to find in the front of the store isles, stuff I wanted or needed but didn't know it until I got to the store! Arc is hands down one of my favorite spots in Denver. I come here all the time, and every time I walk out with something cool--whether it's vintage clothes, home goods, or just something totally random I didn't know I needed. But honestly, what makes this place special isn't just the deals (which are amazing, by the way), it's the mission. In a world where overconsumption is the norm, places like Arc are doing something genuinely important. They give second life to things that might otherwise end up in a landfill--and that's huge. It feels good to shop here, not just because I find unique stuff for cheap, but because I know I'm supporting a system that's more sustainable and community-focused. I've been shopping at this ARC location for over a decade. I'm not a reseller, so I am shopping for items to give to friends and family and myself. To my disappointment, the prices at this location have recently increased to a point that most items are no longer a bargain or a thrifty purchase? I saw prices that were at or above retail? Ridiculous, all these items were DONATED to support an extremely deserving cause. To see it turning into a MONEY MAKING MACHINE because of new Management, it's totally lost its MISSION STATEMENTS GOALS. I could go on about the store conditions, employee turnover and more, but it would just be piling on. Thankfully there's plenty of other Thrift stores to patronize. I'm not going there for awhile, hoping for a drastic overhaul across the board. read more

They have a pretty good selection, and I used to love going there. But since I don't have a car, I usually have a backpack with me, and the store's policy that backpacks be left in a locker as the front of the store is really inconvenient. The lockers are small and do not always work properly. I usually try to shop at other Arc locations now, as they do not seem to have the same policy around bags. Far more convenient. read more

You can find some pretty stellar stuff here if you allow the time to dig. Wall-to-wall clothes is why you come here! Possibly shoes, purses! There is a healthy amount of home goods, electronics.... Ok come here for everything, not just the clothes. There is parking lot parking that fills fast and ample amount of 2 hour street parking is available. Prices are reasonable yet on the higher end (they know the gems they have). Find the half off days and you might be swimming in cheap, awesome finds. Bring your own bags or be charged for plastic bags. (I love it!) read more

TL;DR: Arc tolerates sexual harassment. Buyers beware. I was shopping a Saturday sale here when I noticed a man following me in the store. When I got in line, he came up to me and said something sexual and gross. I shut him down loudly and caused a scene so he'd f*ck off. (The guy had been telegraphing his creepiness so I was halfway expecting it.) The guy walked away, but I watched him go up to the next young woman in line and do the same thing. I got out of line and shut him down again. Then, I approached the security guard at the front of the store. I let him know what was going on and pointed out the guy. (He was focused on another woman in a clothing aisle.) The guard said there was nothing he could do because it's store policy not to remove unhoused customers. I said, that's great, but he's sexually harassing women in the store. You can see him right there. Is that against store policy? He wasn't apologetic, and he refused to even approach the guy. He said there's nothing he could do. I know this is just one person's anecdote, but it's a common situation, and the store's lack of response suggests to me that it's deeply mismanaged. So boo, Arc thrift stores. An org that takes no responsibility for its customers' (and workers') safety is worthless. read more

I've been going to this location most Saturdays for many years. Many of the employees are lovely and friendly and kind. The parking lot is less than ideal, but there is plenty of street parking within walking distance. Prices on Saturdays are manageable. You must stay diligent re: personal safety due to its location and proximity. read more

This store has been around for a long time and I have been going there for a long time. More recently they have gotten super crazy with their prices. Whoever is pricing the items is smoking some major drugs! They see a jacket or shirt they think looks "vintage" and charge $40 for it. It's insane. They have completely ruined this store. It's a total rip off. Whoever prices the clothes and whoever manages this store should be embarrassed! I saw a random, used, nothing special REI backpack a few weeks ago and was shocked to see a $80something price on it. It wasn't even worth that brand new...beware...do not shop here!! read more

ARC stores have long been my go-to for thrift store shopping because they typically have courteous employees, a large inventory, and fair prices. The quality of goods has diminished somewhat in recent years, but frequent visits increase the chances of finding premium treasures. The Broadway store had never been an exception to the above, until a recent visit (August 25). It was clear from the moment I entered the store that the stock was seriously diminished. I asked a long-time employee if all of the inventory had been dumped in favor of more recent donations and a seemingly new philosophy of placing less on the floor. (Best estimate is that the inventory on display was slightly more than half the usual.) The employee said no, but that their new drill sergeant manager had no idea how to run the store, and that several longstanding customers observed the same. I learned also that long-time employees' hours were severely cut back and that many had already quit to search for a decent paycheck elsewhere. Seeing and knowing all this, I am reluctant to continue patronizing the store. If the new, permanent business model of this store is reducing inventory to a minimum and treating long-time and loyal employees poorly, then I will take my business elsewhere, and support those stores that maintain the tried-and-true and honor their employees' service. read more

OK - I spent a half day here as an out of towner from FL who absolutely LOVES searching for treasures and goodies. I'd say the prices are OK/ fair and there's lots of inventory from vinyl - VHS , clothes, coins , and a lot of random. Asked a nice employee to show me some of the items behind the locked counter, which she did in an extremely courteous and friendly fashion. The items were put behind the counter and I went on my way exploring the rest of the store. Upon check out, when I inquired about the coins/stamps/rocks that I had previously stashed up and had stored behind the cashier/checkout (items that I was SO VERY excited to search through after purchase!) I WAS TOLD THEY HAD BEEN SOLD TO A D8FFERENT CUSTOMER!!! A boy/young man employee (who didn't have a name tag) apologized, briefly and said that another customer said the coins were his and purchased them. ARGH!!!!! SO. EXTREMELY L. FRUSTRATING. A $2 Vinyl I was purchasing had no slip/ little scratches... asked if I could have a discount due to the mishap/ damage and was told no. I spent $100. Frustrating. read more

Whoa, this place is big. Lots of clothes. Lots of dishes and glassware. We found some great bar glasses from the now-closed Western Bowl in Arvada. They were marked with the 50% off color of the day, so we paid just 34 cents per glass. SWEET! Got a great Pyrex refrigerator dish and a useful tray. Good prices and a good cause. read more

I visited four Arc thrift stores in this area. I was impressed with all but this one. This one was the smallest, dirtiest and most rundown. I was approached by an employee who asked me to pull my mask up higher. She was not unfriendly, but had nothing else to add. She didn't ask me if I needed help. Two other employees seemed pretty lethargic and uninterested in customers. The man who checked me out was not friendly and was preoccupied. There was only one cashier and a long line. Yet employees were not working and could have helped. I did like the prices very much and appreciate the discounted tags based on color and the senior discounts on Thursday. If you're looking for an Arc thrift store, I would recommend driving a few miles down the road to another location. read more

I walked up and down Broadway for close to 2 hours after leaving Ted's Clothier's (which, by the way is awesome!) looking for a good consignment shop to find Canali, Armani, etc. for someone my size (6'1", 240+) I finally gave Arc a try and was more than surprised, waking out with (2) pieces of Canali and 3 higher end other designer shirts for $16. Well, I'll be! There really is a lot to uncover in this hodge-podge factory of basically everything that there ever was. On the hunt for old-timey decanters for an upcoming 1920's elite event, I thought I might discover vintage finds, and discover I did! Among many other interesting trinkets, vases, vessels, drinking glasses, and more - I also was excited to see they sold VHS movies, china, and picture frames. Certainly, it's possible it could be hit or miss when searching for a specific item, but it's also certain you will walk home with a find. Does a shelve in your home need a little love? Spruce it up while saving big bucks. I am such a sucker sometimes for the overpriced big brand stores when it comes to decorating my home, but have now realized I can probably pull off some of knick knacks found at Arc just as well. Plus - they have a story behind them. I didn't make it back to the endless racks of clothes as I was entranced with just the few aisles stocked with domestic decor in the front of the store. Sure, the quality is what you'd expect to find in a thrift store, however the selection is solid. And if you're ever on the hunt for a film on VHS - it's all there for you. read more

I love this Arc for the simple fact that it's never let me down. Here are some examples: For my birthday last year I had a "create your own theme" theme party. Since I'm from South Florida and was born in the 70s, I decided to go as a South Florida Cuban from the 70s. But, where, oh where, could I find the outfit needed? You guessed it - the South Broadway Arc. I found this dress with giant flowers all over it and like 4 ruffles on the skirt. It was perfect. I also ride around town in a bicycle gang call the Patsy Leotards and we often ride in themes. One theme I picked last year was Patsy Royales. So, we all needed royal gowns. And we found them at the Arc. Mine was a lovely affair - gold with a marvelous tutu. So there you go. Much like any thrift store you're going to have to take your time looking. But, if you look hard enough you're sure to find some zingers at this Arc. read more

Last night, the hunt for a prom dress was on. We visited the Goodwill on Broadway and walked out of there with a piggy stuffed animal for my daughter. Cute, but not exactly prom attire. Upon entering ARC, we made our way back to the dresses and found the motherlode. Unfortunately, the majority of the dresses we found were a bit too small for me. However, the hunt was fun, especially because other shoppers and ARC employees got involved. There was a lady scouring for luau attire who took it as a personal challenge to find a dress that would work for me...and she succeeded! Sure, the place is a little run down, and sure, there's some creepy stuff in there, but I got me a dress, made (albeit temporary) new friends, and hardly spent a thing. read more

I hate to shop. I have no urge to give my money for new clothes. I buy 95% of my clothes recycled from cheapo thrift stores sans undies, socks, swim wear or shoes. I have a closet full of name brands and have found most of them by digging through these cramped racks. Not too crazy about the new layout with the bric-brac in front. Oh well. When we are in the mall and the ball-n-chain tries to get me to buy a name brand, I always say, "I'll wait until it is at the segundo." I heard this was one of the best thrift stores in town, and being kinda-sorta addicted to thrifting I obviously had to check it out. Unfortunately I was a little disappointed. First of all, there seems to be some shady characters hanging around. They even have a security officer guarding the door sometimes (which is good of course but also tells me that there is a reason he needs to be there). The store is also pretty small, or rather, it seems small because it is packed with people, cluttered, and unorganized. It also smells strongly of urine, which sadly isn't uncommon for thrift stores, but this one is especially... erm, potent. It also seems to be really dirty. Now it's not all bad of course! They do have a huge selection and the few times I've been they've had some interesting and old items. I've found toys and stuffed animals that I never imagined I'd see, some cool costumey stuff and lots of unique furniture pieces. However I'm not very fond of the clothing and dining ware/nicknack selection, which are the main things I shop for at these places. It's not a terrible location but it needs some serious cleaning and organization! read more

You know how some thrift stores seem to have TONS of one particular item? For this ARC, it's scarves. I swear, it's creepy. First of all, where are all these scarves coming from? I'm not talking about the cozy knitted kind that keep your neck warm in the winter, either. Nope, these are the kind that Carly Simon was singing about in "You're So Vain." Hat dipped dipped below one eye, and scarf (it was apricot). You know... the kind you'd wear with your polyester leisure suit. Also abounding in mad quantities: short-sleeved men's button down shirts. RACKS of them. But I digress. This ARC recently underwent a medium-sized makeover (I don't want to call it a HUGE makeover, 'cause it really didn't change all that much). It's now a little less cluttered, a little less stinky, and a little more noticeable on the South Broadway drive-by. It's not the best thrift store Denver has to offer, but if you're in the market for scarves or short-sleeved button-downs, this should be your first stop. read more

By the power of Greyskull, this thrift store is THE best place to go for any costume, gag gift or weird little curio for your home. While you can almost always find a good amount of normal clothes here as well, this place it ten times more eclectic and less picked over than the thrift stores that are closer to the heart of Denver or, you know, Baker. Here is a list of some of the things that I have purchased at this ARC. -Canada Coffee Mug -Hot pink 80s power jacket and matching kitten heels -All manner of ugly sweaters -1950s kitchy grocery list pegboard -Giant platform boots for Burning Man -Framed 1st Year Photoshop Project of Noah's Arc that includes completely unscaled animals such as a gecko larger than a giraffe and a racoon the same size as an elephant. Plus, hot pink water and hot pink and orange mountains which have an unexplicable ostrich head popping out of them. Also, mermaid with a sword floating in the sky (It's one of my favorite purchases there. I kind of wish that I had created this masterpiece). -80s denim dress If it totally chaos there? Yes. Is it completely unorganized and fairly ghetto? Indeed. But if you go with some time to spare, you will leave with some great treasures. But, to be honest, if this list of amazing finds has not persuaded you to go check out the Arc, I don't know what will. read more

It can get pretty chaotic in there, especially on the weekends-they have those tag color half off sales that are great. While they have some great stuff (I got a killer green 100% camel hair, perfect like new jacket), that's the exception rather than the rule. I was beginning to accept the fact that I was going to have to wear an ol' faithful dress to the opening of my dad's show Off-Broadway, one of the few occasions in life where wearing something you already own is just not cool. But then my Hail Mary aka Arc Thrift came through like a stylish surprise rescue chariot. Well done, Arc. Well. Done. They also had an H&M blouse-y blue striped shirt for $2, and a pair of Blowfish boots that tempted my wallet something fierce, but a girl's gotta have her limits. I could also spend an entire day rooting through their purse and kitsch collection. Needless to say, it's one of the best thrift stores in Denver. read more

The Arc thrift stores aren't as well known as others like the Salvation Army, but they still offer quality used goods. I've bought quite a few pairs of pants here, but they also offer furniture and other goodies that qualify for twice-loved status. It requires a little patience, but take the time to dig through the record bins. You never know what funky diamonds are lurking within. read more

As far as thrift stores go, this is not the cleanest or the most organized or the most brightly lit. It doesn't have the biggest selection of furniture or dishes. It's routinely picked over by eccentric Baker residents who live nearby and have the patience to come all the time and snatch up all the good stuff before anyone else can blink an eye. However, it is one of the few stores in the area that has little jewelry grab bags that aren't locked up in a case. They're just behind the registers after you pay, or at least they were during my last visit. Although, I found the prices to be a bit high. They put something cool in a itty bitty bag with crap, and then you have to pay $5 to take the bag home, throw the rest of the stuff away, and use the cool thing in your amazing kitschy masterpiece. Ah, the sacrifices we make for our art. There were signs and baloons everywhere announcing a 50% off sale on certain color tags, but my cashier didn't give me the discount on my applicable items. I didn't want to argue, there was a line and in the end, I was only spending $6 or something anyway, I figured, hey, consider it a donation, right? Still, it isn't right on their part. read more

The Arc is such a great place for odd little findings and costume hunting. The former offers such gems as Pee-Wee Herman's cover of "Surfin Bird" mini EP on vinyl..seriously, where else can you find that?! You've also got your extensive collections of casette and VHS tapes of forgotten favorites, cheesy silverware and glassware, odd furniture...all sorts of fun stuff. The latter has helped me out in some pinches. When I made a short film at school, we needed some polos and shirt jackets, but being poor students we couldn't go brand new-enter the Arc, and we found everything we needed. Two Halloweens ago I wanted to be Ron Burgundy, which I mean i needed a colorful, 70-s looking suit. To my great pleasure, I found a navy blue suit, tacky orange-striped clip on tie, and pointed brown 70s dress shoes...for about $20. Cheapest costume ever! The one thing about this place is that they really pack in the clothes on the rack, which makes it hard to find something specific sometimes-but if you have time to browse, you'll likely find what you're looking for. So next time you need a quick costume, don't pay huge dough for a pre-made costume...create oneself for much cheaper at the Arc! read more

Part three of my quest to find something to wear this weekend for the Derby Party. But first, a recap: I started at Macy's and decided that $250 was too much to spend on what is essentially going to be a costume for me. Armed with some vague idea of what a southern gentleman might look like at a cocktail party, I visited a Goodwill store, to find nothing that would work. But is our tireless hero to be dissuaded that easily? Never! And now, the conclusion to our thrilling story (and if you've really found it thrilling, I'll need to help you redefine what thrilling actually is. We should start with some skydiving, or bungee jumping, or basically anything that isn't reading about some 20-something's shopping misadventures). I've been to this ARC several times in the past, usually when I'm looking for something for Halloween. They have a great selection of gently used clothing and housewares, and I'm usually able to find something that works, especially if I'm doing with an inspired thrifter. Today, I was looking for a springtime suit. I found a lighter coat and a pair of slacks that almost matches. Given my time and money constraints, I'll take what I can get. Once I got to the front, I decided to look for some cufflinks too, since I recently bought my first French-cuffed shirt. Julie, the friendly volunteer who checked me out, told me that cufflinks don't stay very long, but that she'd help me look for some. It's because of her help, and the fact that jacket, slacks and cufflinks came to $15 and change, that ARC gets 5 stars. And so my saga ends. I found something to wear for Derby Party this weekend, and I didn't break the bank to get it. Win-win in my book. read more

This is a fabulous and huge thrift store type with plenty of ragin' rags to cover your bags but also there are gems. There are gems among the racks. Also assorted cassette tapes, compact disks, blenders, patio furniture, windbreakers, linoleum, record players, tricycles, and poorly dressed folks rummaging through the racks just like me lookin' for sum gems or sum record players I guess.
