Monique is a witty, cool woman. She's straight forward and it works for me. She takes good care of my 8 month old pomeranian. Kobe gets so many compliments since she's been cutting his hair. We take him in once a month and he's there no more than 2 hrs, price point is very reasonable as well. Highly recommend if you are able to get an appointment with her, she's booked. Initially it was hard getting in but she had a last minute cancellation, we took it and have been there since. read more

I met Monique, the owner, @ a Dog Food/Treat Manufacturing convention. We started exchanging thoughts on healthy dog food and dog treats when she told me she had a grooming parlor. I happened to be taking care of a very handsome White German Shepherd who had my house, car, yard, and eyeballs covered in white hair so I asked her what she suggested- and well, 2 hours later, 9 different dog coat discussions later, our friendship took off, and I savored her knowledge on every breed I threw her way. So I drove 14 miles (40 minutes on a Tuesday morning) to take my Poodle, Mr Happy, for a much needed bath, cut and style. What I Found: A small but efficient on space, no frills dog parlor in a small shopping center (5-6 store fronts). She had about 9 dogs waiting for their "do" and knew every one of them by first name. What I picked up: 7 hours ago, my sister and I had dropped off a grungy- rockstarish- looking poodle (fresh from Pooch Heaven- a rescue organization). 7 hours later we picked up a well manicured, dapper poodle. Mr Happy was Happy!!!! He walks different, smells different and feels different. It was a long drive for a haircut but you know how that goes... when you find one you like that does an excellent job and the price is right-- you make a day of it. read more

I love Monique's Pet Parlor! I personally have not had any trouble with the owner, groomers or the way my little one looks after being groomed. I have a mix breed dog that sheds a lot during the hot summer days. I decided to bring him in here and see how much it would cost for him to get groomed. This place is totally affordable and clean as well. I had heard about Monique's through my in laws and I couldn't be happier to come here. It is difficult though to be booked in since they have tons of returning customers every month. Since we are now part of that group, our appointment is set up exactly a month from when we go in and we have no problem from there and on. Although the place is small, it is well kept and has no dog poop or funny smell walking in or in its surroundings. Porky always is happy going in and happy coming out of this particular place. Monique, the owner, is very knowledgable as far as what your dog might need or what might help, in my case with the shedding. We all believe little Porky might have some corgi in him which leads to the crazy shedding. We have one of her groomers deshed him so he doesn't shed that much at home and we also have them put the flea repellant for us. They take care of everything for me and I do not have to worry too much about keeping him clean after that. Monique is pretty awesome in the fact that she knows each and every single dog that comes in and comes out by name! Not too many places can do that being that Porky only gets groomed once a month. We can also say that there has been a few times that we had to change appointments to a different day and it has never been an inconvenience for them to schedule us in at a better time and date. Over at Monique's, if I need to pick up Porky at a certain time , they have not had any trouble meeting my deadlines and working with my schedule as well. My little one always comes out smelling amazing, clean, nails clipped and with a pretty little bow. I highly recommend this place. read more

I would give this place a 0 star if it existed. I brought my sweetheart maltese to this place. I walked in, and this Monique woman is grooming another dog while she's talking to me. This woman sits there for 10 minutes lecturing me on how my dog is not a purebred maltese, and it's probably a terrier mix, that's why her coat does not look good (so her point is......?!) I tried telling this Monique woman that I'd like a puppy cut on my dog, leave about an inch hair or so. And she still blabing on and on and on about how my dog is not a purebred, and she KNOWS that my dog is from a puppy mill FOR SURE because I told her I got my dog from a breeder. Seriously, does she not understand English? BREEDER does not mean PUPPY MILL!!! And she insist that if I get my dog from a breeder, it has to be a puppy mill even though I've been driven close to 100 miles to see the breeder's house and meet my puppy. So I finally ran out of the place so I can stop listening to her trash-talk about these not purebred dogs are all from puppy mills, bla bla bla bla bla..... That was my biggest mistake!!!!! I came back 3~4 hours later, and Monique shoveled this ugliest alien looking dog to me who kisses and greets me like my baby, but I swear I cannot recognize this hairless creature that looked like it has starved for a month. First of all, I told this woman "puppy cut leaving about one inch or so of hair", and my puppy was SHAVED to skin, head to toe. I mean, I tried to communicate with this woman who obviously cannot comprehend English language properly--or if she could zip herself up and stop her nonsense about my dog being non-purebred dogs and puppy mill crap, she PROBABLY could understand what I asked for?! And if she can stop talking and do her work when she's with other clients, she PROBABLY won't shave my poor dog to a hairless animal. Yea, just imagine a maltese almost turned into a sphynx cat. =( This isn't the worst part yet. i went home, rubs my baby and looks her as I usually do-- I found a 1/3 inch long cut on my puppy's right ear!!!!! I literally sit there a cursed this murderer for almost 10 minutes!!!!! The wound was still new and I still see blood clogged on it. And I saw a huge dark circle (bruise?) under my dog's eyes. If it wasn't my mom holding me back I totally want to file a lawsuit on this place for animal abuse (and attempted murder if applicable!!!) NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER take your dog there for any service if you love your dog. It'll break your heart seeing your loved pet tortured and wounded by this ruthless woman who can't keep herself quiet while working on your dog. And be nice to yourself, save yourself from this Monique woman's endless blabby trash talk about your beloved dog. I really don't care if my dog is purebred or not, I love my dog regardless and I do not tolerate anyone trash talk my loved family member! They killed my beautiful dog April!! Do not bring your pet(s) to this horrible place. Monique was extremely vague as to what happened to my baby.. And if you have taken your pet to Monique, and he or she is a barker and managed to survive this place, you better believe your baby experienced some of Monique's "disciplining," i.e., screaming at the top of her lungs to shut up and be quiet. Monique was very vague when asked about what happened. When I brought April in, she was healthy and energetic and beautiful. When my husband went to pick her up, she could barely walk out of that place and was passing out. . He took her straight to our vet and then was transported to an emergency pet hospital. She had internal bleeding (apparently she had a growth on her spleen that was ruptured) and was in shock, low blood pressure, and hardly a pulse. There was nothing they could do for her. How rough were they with her to cause such an injury? She was a beautiful 78-pound German Shepherd/Chow mix. Think about it. If you had an internal growth, how hard would you have to be hit, dropped, lifted, et. cet., to rupture it???!!! Monique, I don't care about whatever "reputation" you claim to have or how long you've been in business or how many seminars you've been to. THIS WAS YOUR FAULT! Don't let Monique or any of her staff kill your baby. If you love your pet, make a different choice. i am devastated. read more

Never will I bring my puppy to Monique. I waited for a month on her apt. List and left very disappointed. It was my first time getting my puppy groomed and she did what she wanted and not what I asked. She cut off all his hair, left him uneven on top of his head and patches everywhere. I can't wait till his hair grows to take him else where. On top of all that I walked in and she was cusing up a storm to her employees till they told her I was standing in the front, very unprofessional and rude. Ugh!!!!! read more

Wow. What a freak is Monique. She had a yelling meltdown on the phone with me, and it was frighteningly ugly. Yes, I had to change plans because of an emergency. Instead of compassion for a family that gave her years of loyalty, she verbally attacked what she perceived to be an inconvenience to her. Wow. She literally said that she did not care about the tragic circumstances, and did not care if "that dog ever comes back." Our pets always came home exhausted and dehydrated and desperate to urinate. Don't send your pet here if you care about your pet. The owner has a violent temper and a dark side that is truly disturbing. I feel blessed to have seen this for myself and to stop trusting her with my pets before she killed one - which I was shocked to learn happened to another former customer when I looked on yelp! I read some people say Monique talks too loud, too much and being crazy. Well, I just think she is friendly and willing to share stuff. I really have problem with her staff Debbie. she dropped my previous dog from the table while he was very sick. The dog was 15 years old at the time. He passed away shortly after that. I mean, how hard it is to learn to leash the dog first if you are not able to handle it. Debbie dropped our second dog from the table AGAIN. I really think she has problem of learning stuff. If she really in this profession for a while, can't she learn anything. Once again, stay away from Debbie and do not let her handle your dog. read more

Absolutely love this business! I've had nothing but great experiences with them. They've taken care of all my dogs (2 in years past and 2 currently). Granted, my dogs have all been small and short-haired but I really appreciate how thoroughly they take care of them. The entire staff have always been very nice and treated my pups like friends. The prices can't be beat either. I really appreciate that I can make a standing monthly appointment for my dogs and they always find a way to accommodate me and my schedule. I liked this place because they provide great cuts for your dog if u can get an appointment (I was a customer for about a year now). And don't try and reschedule because they won't call you back and put you on a "waiting list." When I would request how I wanted my dogs hair cut and they would tell me they couldn't do it so they pretty much did what they wanted to do. I think the workers here do their job well but the owner I'm not sure. If you do not tell them what they will do to your dog they might throw in extra things and raise the price without you knowing until you pick up your dog. A few times I could hear the owner yelling at the poor girl on the phone or other workers there at the time. My dog for some reason really hates coming here he will pull and run away and I would have to pick the poor thing up and take him into this place. Owner knows a lot but I feel the customer service here could be improved. They also do cash only parents which is so inconvenient and I figure it's so they don't need to pay extra taxes. I guess it's a hit or miss with this place. Some like it some don't but, honestly I have found a new groomer and for the same price I get so much more plus a friendly atmosphere and great customer service. Good luck! read more

I have been there twice. The first time I just stopped by and she clipped my dog's nails. Today I called first because when I called a couple of weeks ago for a shampoo they told me they booked up a month ahead. So when I called today and asked if I could just get the nails clipped, they said get here in 10 minutes and did it in 5! I really am impressed.
