I very foolishly went back to this theater after many years since it was the only one in town…read moreshowing Akira in IMAX. $40 for 2 tickets, another $20 for 1 candy and a soft drink. I was there early, about 15 minutes before showtime. Then the ads ran 20 minutes past showtime. During that entire 35 minutes, not a single employee of the theater checked on things or they'd have noticed the 6-7 young men behind my son and I cursing loudly, using racial slurs, and being absolutely obnoxious to everyone else in the room. When the movie began and they continued, I asked if they would stop, and was told "N*gger, shut up" and variants of that by 2 or 3 of them. Reporting this to the manager did not get them removed, but had my son and I moved to much worse seats without our food. This theater used to be pretty nice, but now it is one of San Antonio's worst. Avoid at all costs. Popcorn all over the floors in the hallways and spilled on the counters near the entrance was still there nearly 3 hours later when we left. It is a disgusting mess.

Of course it was a false alarm but I appreciated the response to get everyone out and make sure it was safe. We missed the ending of our movie but we were provided passes for our next trip and free popcorn. Overall, it was a great experience on how to handle emergency situations and maintain professionalism, quality, and courtesy. I highly recommend you visit this location.

After that, we went to concessions and bought ourselves popcorn and some drinks. The whole interaction went by super fast. Zhane was the worker helping us and she was super sweet. The one downside is that the theatre doesn't take tap to pay or cash but nothing too bad. All in all, great place and friendly staff.

Admission is dirt cheap (compared to San Antonio theaters) and the Manager's Special is an extra-large popcorn with all the refills you want and 2 medium drinks for a reasonable price. When I go alone, I have them fill one drink (placed inside the second cup) and butter the popcorn. For action movies I usually ask the snack bar personnel if there is a slow spot where I can get a popcorn and drink refill and they always tell me where there is one or just say you don't want to miss a minute. No problem there, as I just get my second drink and a popcorn refill on the way out at the end of the movie. At home, I share the popcorn with my dog, who does every trick I've taught her for more and I'm sure she gives the popcorn 5 stars. Very friendly staff. You can't get more "hometown" than this.

It's been awhile since I've been to this theater and remembered that the reclining seats weren't as comfortable as Alamo Drafthouse's. Well I think they had a remodel since then because the seats were very cushiony, seemed newer as the seats weren't worn down and the width of the seats and spacing between seats seemed ample enough that you're not going to bump your neighbor. The tray tables are also well-placed so that your table isn't impeding your view. I think it was well-designed. It was a smaller theater with only 5 rows but the terraced rows were low enough that someone walking in the lower row won't impede your view as well. The theater wasn't super cold as some places are where I'm using a hoodie and jacket in the middle of summer. Folks in line and around us still brought their blankets, LOL! To note, there's a $5 Santikos ticket deal where you can buy these tickets during the last few showings of a featured movie. They're only available for purchase at the theater according to the onscreen ad. Concession stands are downstairs and there's a bar. The screen showed a clip where you can order your food and have it brought to you for a small service fee. There was also a message of knowing where to exit and being vigilant with your surroundings or something to that effect. It's always good to be street-smart these days. After the movie, we exited and there was a Sheriff's Deputy that was outside and looking at his phone. I figured he was going to be on guard today or perhaps the weekend since a major world event occurred today that I expected ramped up security in public places.

Sadly, he left his card behind on accident, which ended up getting stolen. The great news is the staff handled it quickly. They were able to transfer his points to another card before it was used and gave him free movie and food vouchers. What outstanding customer service! I will have to return for some bowling, and it looks like they have virtual reality activities as well. The prices seem pretty reasonable compared to several of the competitors.
