Westerly Fitness is one of my favorite gyms I've been to. Maybe it's because I associate it with vacation, but it's objectively a fantastic gym. To start, they offer short term passes at really reasonable rates. Even better, no cumbersome process to start-- just sign a waiver, pay, and you're on your way. The man in the front was kind, efficient and welcoming. Secondly, the equipment. This gym has well maintained, new equipment. It's spacious and immaculately clean. The members are kind and respectful. The gym is bustling but not full. No waiting for machines! This is my annual gym retreat and I'll be back for sure.

The venue has ample parking, men's/women's lockers and showers, filtered hydration stations . The gym is divided into 3 areas: Cardio/weights , workout classes and weight room . The usual players are there: Lifefitness, Rogue, Hammer Strength, Atlas, Precor , Platinum boxing and much more. Note no chalk is allowed. Members wipe down the apparatus after use which I appreciate. If you choose to workout in the mornings, Michelle will greet you with a cheerful hello as she keeps the areas clean. I highly recommend this no nonsense gym. You need to give Westerly Fitness your undivided attention. Johnny C

Not this place! Staff is friendly and helpful, definitely will be going there on a regular.

I raised this to the morning manager and she said, essentially, yeah that's been broken for awhile. That's it. The showers that work don't have door handles! She knows this too. Around 20 of the lockers are zip-tied shut, presumably because they're damaged. The first time I was there, 6 months ago, I stated that the water fountain wasn't working. Answer: yes it is. The kid height one is fine. Actually, it's not because the whole thing should work and the pressure is insufficient to get a sanitary flow. Almost impossible to fill a water bottle. Second to last time I was there the soap dispenser didn't even work, which is a code violation for a public restroom. All of this has been pointed out, nicely, and for doing so they stated they were not reviewing my membership because I complained. Next, I'll talk about the Sunday afternoon when I accidentally showered a few minutes past closing, the attendant cake in and knew I was there, then he shut the lights off in a windowless room and I had to feel my way to the door to get the lights on so I could leave: his remark, "I don't get paid to stay late." Not about the hazard or inconvenience or plain rudeness. This place is run with no accountability and apparently they don't care

There are multiple highly skilled black belts who are actively involved in teaching, and the level of technical detail and attention given to students is impressive. As a woman, feeling comfortable and respected in a martial arts environment is very important to me, and this gym absolutely delivers. The atmosphere is welcoming, supportive, and focused on learning real, practical self-defense skills. The instructors take the time to ensure students understand techniques properly, and safety and discipline are clearly a priority. The culture here is very positive -- everyone is friendly, helpful, and genuinely interested in improving together. Whether you are a beginner or experienced practitioner, you feel encouraged and challenged in the best way. They also have a fantastic kids program that emphasizes confidence, respect, and strong fundamentals in a structured environment. If you are looking for high-quality Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instruction with experienced black belts, a respectful atmosphere, and a strong sense of community, I highly recommend training here.
