I've trained for a long time and respect gym etiquette, and I would have had no issue correcting it or accepting a warning. When the fee was brought up, I simply asked to see the evidence so I could understand what happened and make sure it didn't happen again. My intention was to learn from it, not argue. My concern was never with the policy itself, but with how the situation was handled. When I asked about the fee and whether a warning could be given, the interaction became argumentative, so I chose to walk away. At that point, the situation escalated when the owner yelled profanity across the gym and then approached me directly in front of other members. That response is what made the experience feel unprofessional and uncomfortable. I respect that gyms enforce standards and maintain order. I simply believe situations like this can be handled with a higher level of professionalism.

The venue has ample parking, men's/women's lockers and showers, filtered hydration stations . The gym is divided into 3 areas: Cardio/weights , workout classes and weight room . The usual players are there: Lifefitness, Rogue, Hammer Strength, Atlas, Precor , Platinum boxing and much more. Note no chalk is allowed. Members wipe down the apparatus after use which I appreciate. If you choose to workout in the mornings, Michelle will greet you with a cheerful hello as she keeps the areas clean. I love the variety of classes they offer, everything from yoga and barre to boxing, Sweat, TRX and now Lift. That class alone has encouraged me to increase my weights significantly and the difference it's making in my strength level is notable. I also love the community aspect, everyone who works there and attends classes is so nice and welcoming, and that all starts with the owner Kristen. The place is so clean and inviting, and the boutique is top notch. I even find shirts there that are suitable for work events! Last but definitely not least, there's Bear, the cutest and sweetest head of PR / mascot / occasional guest in Kristen's barre class wind down that you will ever meet. I came to lift, and boy did I come to the right place! Jared, the owner, is a master lifter and you can tell he put together the lifting area exactly how he would want it! There are multiple jerk boxes, squat racks, platforms and tons of plates! And all in kg! I was impressed by his facility for sure. Drop-ins are a reasonable priced at $15, and bc I'll be back he gave me the first drop in free. I'm considering a move back to ri, and if I do you can be sure this will be a place I will consider calling home base!

I was a true fitness beginner and a little intimidated by gyms and trainers, etc., but the folks at Advantage were patient, understanding and supportive right from the beginning. The trainers really make an effort to know you and your goals, and the atmosphere is always supportive and upbeat. You really feel like you have a team on your side! The Mystic facility is easy to get to, has ample parking, and is just the right size. The shake bar is fantastic! The gym and locker room are super clean, and they have been on top of all covid protocols and provided excellent communication.

The instructors crank up the heat during yoga classes that are not designated at heated classes. There is no way to tell which classes will be heated ahead of time and there is no way to email the center to ask questions about the classes because the online "contact us" form on the website is designed so you can't read what you are writing. The people at the desk don't know anything about the classes. The new online calendar is difficult to even find classes and there is no longer a printable class schedule. Not so zen lately. Hope it gets better!
