To preface, I'd say I'm sensitive to loud, low frequency noises like car and motorcycle ignitions/engines, etc. Bird/nature sounds I could care less about. I contacted Richard for the former and asked if these windows would reduce the issue. He confidently, and with quite a condescending explanation, told me it would reduce the noise, but not eliminate, which I understood. I asked many questions, like if walls made any difference and he basically told me I didn't understand science and that's not how things work. Despite being turned off by our conversation, I was desperate to try to solve my noise issue so I signed the contract. I was also a little concerned about the fact that you pay everything up front, which generally is not how things work, but again, I went with it - much to my ultimate regret. I got the windows installed and immediately could hear there was no difference to the noises that I was looking to reduce. He, of course, argued with me and said there was (mind you after also telling me he is basically deaf in one ear). He told me I was too sensitive to noise and that the windows work. I was in shock. I called another company that specializes in residential soundproofing and they told me that 100% the walls make a difference and that without proper insulation, the windows would make no difference. So after Richard patronizingly told me that I would see a HUGE difference, his "science" was in fact incorrect. Yet I was out $12K. On top of this, I had issues with the windows - not closing all the way, gaps in the panes, cracking glass and paint chipping. While he did fix most of these issues, like the cracked glass, it was like pulling teeth and took forever to get even the minor issues resolved. He kept saying he would come with touch up paint - come to find out they use white out! I could have done that myself in the almost year I waited for him. The gap in one of the panes - the only one that had this issue, he told me was unfixable and it just is what it is. I paid $2K/window and this was the ONLY one with the issue. So instead of fixing it, he basically told me to go pound sand. To say I regret ever doing this, and particularly with Richard, is an understatement. He also kept showing up to my house much earlier than expected and then would get upset when I told him I wasn't available until our scheduled time. He is incredibly inflammatory and becomes easily agitated. He once got mad and yelled at me for texting him while he was driving. He called me to yell at me instead of just not checking his phone like a reasonable human. As you can see from his responses to people's reviews, he's incredibly defensive too. Just a difficult person to work with. If the product was good, I'd say maybe it's worth it, but it's not. Save yourself the headache. With all these positive reviews, I'm genuinely wondering how...

However, I am not receiving the sound reduction that I was expecting. I am not receiving the 75-95% sound reduction that is advertised. The noise that I am trying to resolve is motorcycle and car revving engine noises. The website advertised that the windows are completely customizable in terms of color. That is only partially true. I ordered a white frame and white window. The frame and window sash is white however there are 2 very noticeable gray strips on each window that face the interior of the room. I was not informed about this prior to the purchase. I was expecting everything to be white. There are some gaps in the corners of the window sash. There seems to have been some lack of attention to detail during production. I highly regret the purchase and would have gone with another company. I would return the windows if possible.

He was prompt coming to the site to give the estimate which was very reasonable for the detailed work that was involved. He returned to remove the window and replaced it with a temporary clear glass panel so that the old window could be taken back to his shop for the repairs. He again returned to the site to remove the temporary window and reinstall the leaded window. What a great job! no one would ever realized that the window had been repaired as it looked as good as new!... When I arrived home he was carefully cleaning each tiny area of glass. I would highly recommend David's Inner City Glass to anyone in need of repair and especially to those who are in need of Historic type window restorations. Thank you David!

Was hired through the mass save program. The insulation was fine, but they did insulate more of the…read moreattic than they were supposed to, which meant I had to shovel insulation off the flooring in order to get my attic space back. The big problem was the weatherstripping around the doors. They used 18 guage brad nails to hold 1/4" PVC weatherstripping to the doorframe. Anyone who knows the first thing about materials knows that the nail is just going to break right through such thin PVC. Sure enough, it fell down. I called, emailed, and texted to get them to fix it, and they never replied. Eventually I got them to come back by contacting MassSave again, and sure enough, they just tacked the same weatherstripping with the same brad nails. Now I have twice as many nails in my door frame and still no weatherstripping, as of course it fell down again. I am going to have to patch and repaint the doorframe they ruined myself and buy my own new weatherstripping to install properly. They have no idea what they are doing. Don't use them. If they get assigned by MassSave, tell MassSave you want someone else.
