In addition, the company is Hardieplank Elite Preferred installer, meaning they were up to date on any installation best practices and that was important to me. Unlike all of the other bids, there was no pressure. Gino was easy to work with, extremely responsive, meticulous attention to detail. No overselling or "the sky is falling" behavior. No eye rolling or treating me like I was a PIB at the end when some little painting details needed extra attention. Was very respectful of me as a woman. No weirdness or disconnect from his team. Everyone was on the same page. And his team are direct employees of Lifetime ... for many multiple of years. This latter point spoke volumes to me. The renovation was complicated by wood beams which needed to be kept product and paint free. We had three different major projects to get bids upon and Julio was one of the several construction company representatives who responded to our calls. He was on time for our in home meeting and impressed us with his attention to detail while considering the work and materials needed to complete the jobs. Julio was able to give us a comprehensive bid on each of the projects (flooring, siding and construction of an external awning/sun shade) detailing a prospective time schedule if we chose to hire his company. He was also able to offer us a discount if we decided to hire his company to complete all of the projects. This made good sense to us as it would save confusion in resources like dumpsters, vehicle parking, porta potties, ETC if we had different entities working at the same time. The work contract was easy to understand and there were no surprises throughout the whole process. Julio also provided all the necessary legal documents to show he had proper licensing and insurance for his company and workers. All the individual workers who Julio sent to our home were professional, courteous and efficient. The building supplies were ordered properly and we were promptly notified about the impending deliveries The demolition and removal of our old poor quality siding was done quickly and skillfully and at the end of every workday, the workers cleaned every bit of scrap and all the sharp nails and pieces of wood that would have been a hazard to us and out pets. The siding crew that wrapped our stripped house was great and the crew that cut and attached the Hardie board siding was amazing in their skillful technique. The painters did an excellent job and got everything right, down to the smallest of details. The awning project was initially not what my wife expected but Julio quickly understood and directed his crew to make the necessary improvements getting it just right. The same work ethic and and attention to detail was applied to the removal of our old, worn-out and stinky downstairs carpeting. After stripping the floors bare, the cement was leveled and prepped for the tile we had chosen from the business that Julio had recommended. The relatively big area was tiled, sealed and new baseboard was attached. During the entire renovation project, Julio was in constant contact with us and he was onsite at least once if not several times a day while the workers were present. The payment plan was clear and simple with no unexpected surprises at the end. Two side of our house needed siding replaced due to construction flaws and water intrusion. We chose SFW Construction based on their Angies List recommendations. The workers were very skilled, they knew exactly what they needed to do, explained everything to us every step of the way. This is painful work for a homeowner: it is slow, noisy, invasive, and very very expensive. It took over three weeks to do two sides of our tall skinny house, and we spent about 10% of the purchase price of the house on the repairs. Painful, as I said. Very happy with the work and the people who did the work. 5 stars for that. I took one star off because they recommended SFW Painting to paint our house, and if you read my review of that company, doubt may creep into your mind as to whether you should do business with SFW. I can say that SFW Construction did a good job, and they were very good people to work with.

The part that made us go with Pro Quality was the fact that they have their own team and limit how much work gets subbed out. This way the schedule was easier to adhere to, and quality and communication were kept to a high standard. Vadim set everything up in Builder Trend so that we could easily see the work scheduled out and knew what was coming up and what to prepare for.
