They showed up. They put in an egress window in my basement. It looked good at first but on closer inspection over the course of the last two years its clear they don't really know what they're doing. Had a structural engineer tell me they didn't put a header on. If I hadn't gotten that inspection there could have been serious structural issues in the future. As a result of that inspection I had to undo some of the window casing they put on, which I specifically asked them not to do. The casing was cheap plastic material that they glued on. I had to cut it off with a Dremel. Lastly the wall of the lightwell they put in is already cracking after less than 2 years. I wouldn't trust these guys to fix it even if they offered to. read more

I paid more than we agreed and got less than we agreed on. They didn't do things as I asked, they screwed up a couple of things, some of which they would not fix because it'd require them re-doing a shower wall. Now I have a shower that doesn't meet my needs as a disabled person. On the other hand, they showed up reliably and did the main job. Working with contractors in this town has been on the scale of disappointing to a total nightmare. These guys were on the disappointing end. I felt a bit duped and cheated. I have to use the thing they renovated daily and the fact that it's not how I asked them to do it makes it physically difficult for me daily. All this despite paying more than we originally agreed (they added costs midway through, the point at which I had to agree in order to finish the job). I've had to have others come in and correct what they could, but the main problems with the work can't be fixed unless I pay another ten grand to have it all re-done. Initially I was happy to have someone show up reliably and work (that's how sad it is trying to get contractors here) but as time goes on I regret not being more dramatic about my feedback for them along the way, because they didn't listen to me as it was and I basically wasted my extremely limited funds on an incorrect job that I can't afford to fix in my remaining life. read more

Carlos and the crew did a great job on our dining room so we hired them for a full upstairs remodel - 4 bedrooms and the hallway (walls, floors, closets, etc.). This was a multi-month project but the teams were there consistently (no multi-day gaps waiting on contractors) and did the work quickly and with high quality. Towards the end of the job, we had a couple of issues that we wanted changed/corrected and Carlos was on top of it and quickly brought the guys out to make changes per our request. In the middle of the project we decided to sell the house so we also used them to install a new kitchen floor, stain our front door and a variety of other random pre-selling work that they did quickly and well also. Came out in a timely fashion to provide an estimate for some work on the outside of our house. The estimator didn't taken any notes or photos during our discussion and advised that I would have the estimate later that day. The estimate came back 4 days later and only after me asking several times for it. The estimate that was eventually provided was 8x higher than the estimates provided by other companies that came out to bid on the work. read more

We can't review their work because they were a no show twice. After the initial bid was given and we accepted it, Carlos became almost impossible to contact. We were told both by him and his office he was going to call us back at a particular date and time on several occasions. It never happened. We had to chase him down to speak to him. The first day we were scheduled, we received a call 10 minutes before the time of our appointment to let us know they were cancelling. We were told that the foreman assigned to our project had a family emergency so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. It took several days of calling and being told Carlos would call but never did to get on the schedule again. We understood that all contractors are swamped right now though and kept giving them the chance to reschedule. We even gave Carlos an out as it seemed they were just not motivated to do the job. He swore they really wanted to do it. So, here we are today. We were scheduled for 8 this morning. Both of us took the day off work. No one showed up. It is now 1 1/2 hours after our scheduled time. Calls to Carlos and the office are unanswered and no one has contacted us to let us know what is going on. They may very well do good work but the frustration you will feel trying to get them to do it is just not worth it. Horrible communication, total disregard for the clients time and a complete waste of ours. Update: Nearly 3 hours after they were scheduled we got a call from Mariana. They must not have compared notes because she actually tried the family emergency excuse again. Said she got an email from Carlos last night that he had this family emergency. Even if this were true, which is highly suspect, no one at any point reached out to us about rescheduling when they knew they were not going to make it a second time. She told us she was going to try and get someone out to start our work today and would call back in 2 hours. It has now been 3 hours and nothing from their end. So buyer beware, this company is at the very least dishonest and completely unreliable. read more

I had a project for my attic. Needed insulation blown and also laid, drywall and tape, some electrical, 2 new windows and a banister. The team that came over was so polite and professional. The project was quoted at two weeks but was done around just 1. The work that was done looks great and I can not stress enough how amazing Carlos was to work with. I have a few other projects I will have done in the future and I hope to only use them moving forward. read more

Carlos and his crew provided prompt and reasonable quotes for my covered patio project. When supply sourcing issues came up due to COVID, he worked with us late into the night to find alternative options that met our needs 100%. We felt that the quotes he provided were by far a better value than his competitors. The price charged was comparable to other local companies, but with nicer materials promised and used. Premium touches were included throughout the project, mainly the #1 Douglas Fir, monster sized beam he used for the main supports. The additional aesthetic touches of the cedar wrapping and Sherwin Williams stain really set it off. The timeline was very quick as well. From the day we accepted the quote, most of the work was done within a week, with a few minor touches being finished throughout the remaining couple weeks. I am so happy we found Arch Angel on Yelp, we strongly recommend reaching out for a quote. We will also be looking to Carlos for future jobs around the house. read more

Carlos was our angel when we moved to town. We bought a condo that needed the ceiling and soffits redone, electrical work, kitchen, carpentry work, new light fixtures installed, etc. We knew no one and blindly interviewed several contractors based on Yelp reviews and availability before selecting Arch Angel. Time was of the essence as we were moving in soon and Carlos and crew were very responsive and got the project done quickly. The crew kept everything very clean and were great at problem solving when the usual construction obstacles arose. Estimator came out to talk about our project and see our house. He arrived on time but during the consultation did not take any notes or pictures, which I thought was odd. He said that he'd get back to us within a few days with the estimate but it's been over a month now and we haven't heard anything. If they're this flakey before they even have my business I can't imagine how they'd act once they've actually gotten the job... I would say "oh maybe they're busy" but the estimator said that they only had one other job going on at the time so I'm going to assume that they're just disorganized and don't follow through. read more

I needed some work completed quickly in order to close on my house. Mariana and Carlos were very good with communication and understood the time crunch I was in. I needed to have some new vapor barrier put down in my crawl space, but due to some inconsistencies in the depth of the crawl it became a bigger project. UPDATE from original review: since they never came out to replace the dryer cord or outlet, as promised. I went to Home Depot to buy one so I could look up how to install it. When I showed the Home Depot associate the outlet so they could show me the cord to buy, they told me they actually installed an outlet for a stove/range, not a dryer outlet. I bought the new outlet and stopped at Ace to see if what the Home Depot was true or if they had a cord that would work. I didn't tell them anything about the situation to see what they would say. They too, told me that it was an outlet for a stove and says they used to be used for dryers a long time ago but that was no longer true and that that particular outlet they installed would be quite dangerous if I tried converting it with an incorrect cord. (Fire Hazard) They also told me that it would void my warranty if I converted it. Now I'm going to have to have an electrician out fix everything. I was told the electrician would likely have to run a new line to the electrical box as well and put in a new breaker since it was installed incorrectly. read more

Carlos responded right away, I was honest upfront and explained I needed a verification on a siding repair I did for my lender that it was just cosmetic. Juan jr. came out and verified it was cosmetic, had been sealed, and didn't infiltrate the siding. Carlos then took a week to get back to me and wouldn't write a letter. Nearly cost me my rate lock ($200/mo. mortgage difference for 30 years, do the math!). Luckily another contractor was able to quickly come out, saved me and I barely got the letter in time. I dont recommend and wouldn't trust this business in my opinion. They're certainly not "archangels". read more
