He went through my whole coin collection which the other place didn't do. He was very patient with me and answered all my questions regardless how silly they were. I wish I had read the negative reviews before visiting this business. My father is an avid coin collector, and I brought him here so he could pick out a Father's Day gift for himself. While looking through a box of coins, my father mistakenly began examining a box that was apparently awaiting appraisal. The box was unattended, and he believed it was available for customers to browse. As soon as an employee informed him of the mistake, my father immediately stopped and apologized. Unfortunately, the situation did not end there. The employee raised his voice to my father in front of other customers and staff and continued to berate him even after he had apologized multiple times. What could have been resolved with a simple explanation instead became a public confrontation. My father is a 76-year-old disabled veteran, and the continued hostility was upsetting enough that he began experiencing symptoms related to PTSD and felt he needed to leave the store. We left immediately and will not return. My father made an honest mistake, acknowledged it immediately, and apologized. He did not deserve to be treated with disrespect. My wife and i took a few coins to this shop. One was particularly odd to her because it has an unusual etching on it and she wondered if it was natural or something done after mint. The man who "helped" us seemed very disinterested and seemed like we were nothing but a bother to him. he picked the coin up, glanced at it, and pronounced, "it's a smudge". Uh.. I know a smudge when i see one, this was not a smudge. He made a glance in the direction of the other coins and said they are worthless, handed us a flyer for a coin show and walked away. 45 minute drive for worthless "help". Cannot recommend this place enough! Professional, friendly, knowledgeable and, above all, honest! This was the absolute WORST experience I've had in a coin shop since I've been collecting silver, coins and currency-about 6 years now. I usually go to Nevada Coin Mart and the only reason I decided to try this BUNK establishment was because its closer to where I live. I called a couple of days ago and asked if they buy uncirculated Presidential rolls of dollars. The guy said no, they do not. I asked if they sell silver bars, 10 oz. I asked what the best out the door price is, he quoted $345 out the door. I said maybe I'll come down and use them to purchase some silver, and that was it. Today I went in there with 20 uncirculated rolls to use at FACE VALUE TO MAKE A PURCHASE. I also brought $200 cash. The guy shows me two 10 oz bars, quotes me $684 OTD and I said excellent, I showed him the rolls and he says "oh uh, let me see if its ok to take these"!!!! I said its face value as he was walking away. He spoke to someone and came back and said "they dont want to take them"!! I was dumbfounded! I asked why and he said "Im not sure, they just dont want to deal with them"!!!!!! I've never felt so disrespected, I guess I'm an idiot for thinking a COIN SHOP would have no problem taking $25.00 uncirculated rolls at face value for a 700 dollar purchase, but this JUNK establishment DID' Do yourself a favor if you have things to sell, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE WHERE THEY TREAT YOU WITH RESPECT AND WANT NEW CUSTOMERS, this was a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE that I am still pissed about. The first time I went here it was a good experience and I got a fair price. But after that they low balled me, offer far less than my platinum and gold was worth. The price for one troy once should be $40 under spot. They use Kitco's sight which low balls you by on the average $20. Then they want to pay you 3% less than it's value. You will get a good deal from them the very first time, but after that they start pulling shady you know what. Update: It pay's to read these reviews as I just read another one star review that said they stated on the phone they only carry generics. Very glad I read about selling the rare coins on Ebay. As for your comment, the first time you offered $40 under spot price, but later you got greedy and offered $80-$100 under spot. You gave a good and fair deal at first, but later changed. I absolutely hate writing 1-star reviews. As a business owner, I know that it's impossible to satisfy all customers. But the level of service here is inexcusable. Every so often I call around local dealers to see what they have in inventory. I am very busy so driving around to all these different locations is not feasible. Therefore the most efficient thing to do is to call. Sounds reasonable right? I look for very specific items and most coin shops only carry a handful of these items at any given time. Here is the conversation as followed: Business: "Hello?" (No Archangel Coins, how can I help you?) Me: "Hi I'm looking for "specific item" what do you have in stock" Business: "You call all the time and ask us the same question and you never come in. Which indicates that you're looking for high premium or rare "specific items". When we get those in we put them on our eBay page, not in the store. We only have generics here." I did not ask you to go over every Morgan Dollar or wheat penny or give me a history lesson. All I asked was for a specific type of items. It is quite disgraceful how you talk to your customers in that demeanor. All of the other shops had no problem telling me what they have in inventory, which usually takes about 30 seconds. And quite the contrary, I have been in your shop at least a dozen times and have purchased numerous items. I've had bad days but never once talked to any of my customers in that tone. Looks like I'll be taking my business elsewhere, which is a shame because the elderly gentlemen who works there is very nice. Good thing there are plenty of other options for coin dealers. It's sad because I generally like helping smaller local businesses, but in this case I'll make an exception. Response to owner: I have about 50 different types of bars I'm looking for.
