It had a pretty good variety of groceries and a bakery and deli too. The ambience was decently busy on this New Year's Eve morning. With my sweet tooth, I couldn't help but to try some donuts. I went with a maple bacon bar, regular maple bar, and a lemon filled bismarck. Service was great as I rang the service bell, a clerk came out promptly and was nice and friendly. The maple bacon bar was delicious; the perfect balance of salty and sweet in one bite! The bacon gave it a good crunch and a slight smokey taste, but in a good way. As for the lemon bismarck, I love lemon anything. This lemon-filled donut was pretty good and did not leave that weird lemony after taste as some lemon do if you know what I mean. The ratio of filling to dough was perfect. I hate when the donut barely has any filling inside, but this one didn't disappoint!

I was so anxious to see Wallace after learning about almost 8 years ago. I had always wanted to go up here. I got the Air B-n-B in Kellogg because Wallace didn't have anything available other than the hotel Wallace. I REALLY wanted a mountain experience and wanted to rough it. Meaning, off the grid totally while in the cabin and that actually happened. That's a story for when we all gather again and are like sitting around the fire or something hahaha! Anyway, we drove up the side of the mountain to the cabin, dirt road that took 10 mins from the paved road to get to lol...super windy road too. So we dropped out shit off and drove back down so I could get to Wallace. Wallace is only like 8 miles from Kellogg. As soon as you get off the freeway, loop around, first thing you see...Harvest Foods. It was literally the first place we went to when we got up there. I mentioned in my Yokes review that you get the cheaper prices there because of the fact that it's a chain and they can afford it. Anyway, Harvest Foods is definitely a little more pricey, but for convenience sakes, it's not bad. Also, if you're visiting, chances are you won't care about the prices. I know it didn't bother me all that much and I'm a super cheap m'fer lol. I walk in and immediately loved that it was old school. Reminded me of "Bells" a tiny grocery store in Geneva, NY that closed years and years ago. Any place that takes me back to when I was a kid, is incredible for me. I live for nostalgia. Means so much to me. This place was that. It's conveniently located and if you live in Wallace, no matter where really, you can walk here. Yeah because it's convenient, but Wallace is super tiny. 700 and some change people live there. It's literally calling me!! The cashier was so nice. Another one who immediately engaged Frankie boy. And again, if they do that before saying anything else, it makes me smile. The dogs love it and it makes me so happy to see them happy because of all dogs do for us. She asked me a few questions about him. I was like "ok he's in here?" She was like "even if we didn't allow dogs, would never say no to that little face. He's so adorable" Again, I love people like her. Then told me she had an older, little one at home. She was great. Not too much to say. This place was great in every sense of the word, even if the prices were higher. I went to Yokes that last night because 1) I just discovered it by accident and 2) it was not far from our cabin at all lol. Had I never found Yokes, I would have gone to Harvest Foods more than I did. Harvest Foods has everything you need. I'm sure they hate that the Walmart was built up there. Smaller, independent stores like this always suffer when that giant comes stomping in. However tho, if you live right ok Wallace, Harvest is definitely more convenient than Walmart ESPECIALLY during the cold months. It's on the main drag of this town, just a few blocks from the hotel we were at. The "Liquor Store." Yes, pretty generic branding, but not out of the norm in a town that also has a restaurant simply signed as "Eats" and also a furniture store called "Furniture Store" a few blocks down. [Creative names don't abound here. They should call it "El Liquor Store" just to kick it up a notch.] She paid for it (I LOVE HER). Probably a few bucks more for a fifth than what I usually pay in Seattle or she pays in L.A. (minus 1-Star), but what can you do when you are hundreds of miles "deep into the stix." [I already had the mixers back in my room.] So there you go. [Some transactions are painfully simple and don't require "fluffy linguistic skills" to relay the ambiance of a room, or the presentation of an entree.] CONVENIENT FOR THE WRONG REASON I should also say that we came back here a second time when we were at the wake (for our uncle Jack - no relation to Jack Daniels) across the street at the Elks Lodge from El Liquor Store. I still don't think Rikka's dad or my mom (Jack was their oldest brother) knew of our little trek to spike our soda's and those of so many grateful cousins.... and our parents are not yelpers... sooo... *crosses fingers*... A pretty decent variety of the top shelves and the bottom shelves not marked up too horrible at all. They have the occasional special edition versions that come out which is neat to see in a small town. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. They have limited mixers or chasers so if you're looking for that and/or beer or wine take a trip down the road to the grocery store to find a bigger selection. Conveniently located and good hours of operation - just make sure to check out holiday hours if planning around that.

My friend told me their donuts are pretty good and of course I had to try one. I had a maple bar and liked how the dough wasn't heavy and the maple glaze frosting was nice, smooth, and tasty. The clerk was friendly and engaging, which is awesome since I'll now be a regular. Being on the reservation, it was pretty cool to find out groceries aren't taxed.

The main reason I'm not a fan of grocery stores is how poorly laid out they are (intentionally) and how hard it is to find anything (again, intentionally). Well, WinCo falls into that category for me. It might the most poorly laid out grocery store I know. Another thing I don't like is that they only accept cash or debit cards. Annoying you can't pay with a credit card. Normally this would be a 2-3 star review, so why four stars? Well, first it's super inexpensive. They have great prices here. Second, they have a bulk food section which is great.

There have been good moments or at the very least neutral. Primarily, I've been faced with negative and oppressive incidents imbued with racism, prejudice and bigotry projected by Cherie. It is absolutely intolerable. Self-healing and a depth of awareness of Cherie's character acquire her to do a deep review of the hatred and bitterness within that expells out of her being. She severely lacks (non-existent) balance in her mental/emotional health and spiritual wellness. I believe the store itself has great potential and can be a gem to the CdA community but it starts with who Natral Grocers chooses to be the representation of their company.
