If you're driving by Smelterville this is a must stop! We biked the Hiawatha and called to check their hours- they were closing and we'd arrive 20 mins later and they stayed open for us. My husband and I had pulled pork sandwiches, 2 sides each and separate drinks.. it came out to around $30 INCLUDING A 15% TIP for the whole meal. Gobsmacked when in LA the same thing would be around $70. What we liked the most about this place is that the ingredients all taste super fresh. You don't leave feeling gross because you just had BBQ. Simply put, it's quality food. The owner was also so nice. Texas Style BBQ in Idaho! I am from San Antonio Texas living in Montana now. This is a taste of home. Moist well smoked brisket was delicious in a sandwich and so good we went back to order another pound to take home. Hubby enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich with spicy sauce with baked beans and spicy Mac n cheese. Our son loved the pulled pork with no sauce and the cute pig and cow drawings they labeled the to go boxes with as well. The huckleberry lemonade was tasty and not too sweet. But then comes the meal... Outstandingly tender brisket and pulled pork sandwich, bread soft as heaven. Garren is a no-nonsense vet, and gets er dun! Along with Nancy in the front house (of a trailer), these two are a well-balanced mom and pop. As stated in other reviews, signature Huckleberry lemonade, and pepper jack mac and cheese, a very balanced meal! Amazing barbecue! I had sliced brisket sandwich and wife had chicken cheese sandwich. The brisket was melt in your mouth and she said chicken was equally good. Best coleslaw I've ever had. Man, oh man, was this place good! Worth the two minutes to travel off the highway! The owners were great and you could tell they cared about their product and their customers. We had the beef brisket and pulled pork sandwiches. The brisket was flavorful and tender, and the spicy BBQ sauce was delish. I'd like to tell you about the pulled pork, but my husband ate all of it before I could have a bite! Whatever you do, get the Fire Crack Mac and Cheese!!! The meat was good but not wonderful. The sandwich sucked. Just a couple of pieces of meat in dry bread. No mayo, no mustard, no onions, no cheese, nothing, just plain, dry and boring. They did offer a small cup of bbq sauce on the side but it should have been on the meat. The people were not very friendly or accommodating. I will not go back! read more
