I'm not sure why this coffee shop was so busy if I'm being honest. I like to consider myself a coffee shop connoisseur and there are very limited options here/ odd coffee combinations. When I walked in the woman at the counter stated she needed a minute to gather everything in which I never had a problem with because I know these things take time. It took her 15 mins to finally come back and take my order. The menu only has a few syrups for lattes and they do not have caramel on the menu. The one pro is they do have a pretty wide variety of food options so if you can hold for the service + limited coffee options it is a good space to grab a bite to eat!

While price was typical for trendy places, they didn't skimp out on the food! My friend got the avocado toast which was huge (and good), and my miso waffle was reasonably sized. First, the space is sleek and clean. While the staff puts a lot of time and effort into your drinks and food, you can look at different wine options or sit inside or outside to get work done. The drinks are made with care and the flavor is incredible. Dont sleep on the food! We loved both the avocado tart/ toast on a thick slice of delicious bread and the egg sandwich. Convenient location in camp north end!
Love this place!! The drinks were so good. I really loved the draft vanilla latte (it combines their cold brew with vanilla syrup). The staff was super helpful in deciding what to get! I loved getting to chat with them and see how personable they are. The coffee shop has such good seating and a cool aesthetic. Their breakfast sandwiches were a bit greasy but SOOOO delicious and filling. The melty cheese was so perfect
Wow this Japanese cafe is so good! I ordered the mushroom tartine and it was so delicious with the egg, pickled onions, cheese, and bread. The braised dashi sauce was very flavorful, and the bread was soft and thick. The hex waffle was also really good with the honey miso butter. It was very fluffy and light. I really enjoyed my iced chai as well! The food and drinks came out quick and the workers are nice. I love the blue decor and there's lots of seating.
Everything was tasty. They were busy and the food took about 20 minutes to come out which felt like a lot for a walk up counter spot. I wish they had a water station so you don't need to go to the bar for a water.
The customer service was good. Nice space. However, the matcha was not good. Also, the egg sandwich wasn't good either.
I'm not a coffee guy so order an iced ginger turmeric for my drink mid morning after walking the grounds. Spam Musubi was why I entertained the idea of visiting here. I ordered a matcha latte with oat milk, which was good, but lukewarm. The Brekky Sando was extremely greasy and soggy. I would not recommend. The inside is small and seating can be very limited and hard to find a spot. I had high hopes and unfortunately I am not in a hurry to go back.
Hex Coffee has a really cool vibe and is a great spot to work for a bit, especially being in the historic Camp North End area with restaurants and other things to do nearby. The espresso was very tasty, and their espresso machine setup is genuinely fun to see. I also tried the tamago sando, which is a Japanese-inspired egg salad sandwich on Hawaiian shokupan. It was flavorful and pretty good overall, but $13 for an egg sandwich is a little hard to justify. The coffee is also on the pricier side, so this feels more like a treat than an everyday stop. That said, the staff was super nice, the ambiance is great, and it's definitely worth checking out if you want a cool coffee shop to work from or hang out in.

Amazing iced vanilla latte (my go to) and even more amazing breakfast??? I definitely wasn't expecting my avocado toast to be stretched out the way it was but it was fantastic! Staff was incredibly friendly. I felt bad not being able to speak with one who checked up on me ad my face was stuffed with toast.

Love the food and drinks here!! Also great variety of seating with outdoor lighting as well. It can get full but if you go on a nice day there is really nice outside seating. I pretty much would try everything on this menu and trust that it would be delicious. Everyone working there is also very nice! Great place for a friend meet up, co-working space, or solo date. Amazing location as well since there are a lot of things of other things to do/local businesses to support/local art to see at Camp North End!! Parking: IS FREE at either the front or back cement/gravel lot (NOT THE DECK) or steet parking. Always double check signage! read more

My husband ordered the winter special espresso tonic and also ordered the spam musubi and Hex waffle. Wow, the food was absolutely delicious. I loved the spam musubi and haven't found many places that have it on their menu. I would come back just for that. The waffle also was perfectly made and super tasty. We went for one of their Wednesday chicken sandwich/wine specials and I can't wait to go back! Everyone working that night was helpful, attentive and welcoming. The cashier helped us pick out our wines and they were delicious. We enjoyed them on the patio while we waited for the chicken sandwiches. The fries were crispy and flavorful and the sandwich was HUGE. It had a little bit of heat from a spread that was on the bun, but the pickles on top were excellent. Precision Crafted specialty drinks, housemade syrups and incredible service/hospitality is what you have to look forward to when visiting Hex. Had a great time here with a few friends during silent book club! We split a bottle of chenin blanc and enjoyed some quiet time reading and then catching up. The wine was delicious, our waitress left it with us in a chiller and was very pleasant, friendly, and attentive with water/refills. This is a super sleek, minimalistic space, and they have a small but interesting food menu. My friend ordered a rice bowl with a fried egg. Looked like a good hearty portion. Unnecessarily pretentious. Naming a cortado milk and a shot of espresso seems silly. However, they did ensure it was served in glass and it tasted quite good. Note that the space is quite loud and outdoor seating is limited. read more

I came here with my friends during a slow time (meaning no one else in line) but the place was popping with people. There was a lot of seating everywhere with some very eclectic seating options. I ordered a Draft Vanilla Latte and I did not enjoy it as much as I wish I did. It just fell flat. My friend got a Cortado and it was good but very sweet. My other friend got their Rose Hip latte and it was so floral and decadent. Very good and girly!! I would recommend and go back! read more
My husband and I stopped in on his lunch break. We both ordered the vanilla latte. They were ok. I'm not a huge vanilla fan but the only options are vanilla or mocha, that was disappointing and is why I gave it 4 stars. The food was great. Service was excellent. Definitely one of my favorite coffee shops if you're looking for good coffee, a tasty meal, and overall just great vibes to explore around Camp North End. The breakfast sandwhich was delicious and so was the BLT special - which had a spicy onion jam that was a game changer - too bad it's only seasonal! I tried the avocado tartare as well and it's a massive piece of bread so very filling - whatever hot sauce they use with it really brought so much flavor to it. Had some time to kill and decided to check out Camp North End since I was in the area. I am still very new to the area and hadn't yet heard of HEX, but when I saw it I knew I had to stop in and check it out. The way the entire building (and most of Camp North End for that matter) is wrapped in vines and obscured by a multitude of different thriving plants really appealed to me. The inside of this place was just as cool, with a minimalistic and somewhat dark industrial aesthetic. Contrary to many specialty coffee shops, HEX had an abundance of indoor and outdoor seating, which I appreciated. All of the staff members were extremely friendly, and although it was pretty busy, my coffee came out relatively quickly. I was also pleasantly surprised to find a lot of their roasts were extremely fresh, and at the time I was here, all the beans on the shelf were roasted three days prior. I got their seasonal latte iced with whole milk and it was everything I would expect from a specialty roaster. I didn't try any of the pastries, but will definitely be returning in order to do so. Although this was my first time trying HEX, I immediately knew this would not be my last. If you're looking for amazing beans, delicious coffee/matcha, or a place to just get away for a bit, I would highly recommend stopping by and giving them a try. read more

Hex is known to be one of the best coffee roasters in the Charlotte area. So reviewing their food comes as a pleasant surprise. It's been awhile since I've been here (pre kitchen era) so I was happy to see they had a food menu when I arrived. It's Japanese inspired which also fits the Japanese inspired design. First, I ordered a filter coffee which was an Ethiopian. It was well balanced but still had tons of fruitiness and stone fruit coming through. For food I ordered the spicy chicken sando. It was HUGE. The chicken was protruding out of the bun. It was breaded perfectly. It was insanely crunchy, while also being the right amount of tender. The spices on the chicken are a simple katsu, but it ties all the other flavors together hiding under the brioche bun. The pickles, the sauce, the Mayo it was all :chefs kiss:. I also enjoyed the fries on the side which are seasoned uniquely. I would have loved an aioli or dipping sauce for them though. read more

In a world where it's seemingly impossible to find a great coffee shop that offers more than stale pastries, Hex coffee is a much needed institution that combines great coffee with great food. The breakfast and lunch offerings are creative, branching away from the standard bacon egg and cheese sandwiches. I enjoyed the katsu sando, even if it was a tad mustard dominant. My iced vanilla latte was one of the best I've had in Charlotte; smooth with the perfect amount of sweetness. There is ample indoor and outdoor seating alongside friendly baristas, making Hex my new favorite restaurant in Charlotte! read more

Hex Coffee is easily one of my new favorite spots in Charlotte. I ordered a hot vanilla matcha latte with oat milk and it was so good - honestly the best I've had in the city. Smooth, not too sweet, and perfectly balanced. I also tried the rice porridge. It came in a hefty bowl with pork belly, a fried egg, and veggies. I couldn't finish it, but it was comforting and flavorful. My only critique is the raw carrots and radish, which felt a bit out of place. Some cooked vegetables would've made it even better. There's tons of seating, both indoors and outside, which is perfect for studying or catching up with friends. The service was great - everyone was super friendly and welcoming. Clean, modern interior and the restroom was spotless too. Definitely recommend! read more
Came here for a drink and good breakfast food especially after seeing that they were having their chicken and waffles as a weekend special. I got the hot chocolate which tasted super good but it was as hot for my liking so it got cold faster than I would've liked. The chicken and waffles were probably the best ones I've ever had! I love how it wasn't typical chicken and waffles and it has an asian inspired taste to it with the miso. read more
Just checked out HEX to get some remote work done for the morning, and was pleasantly surprised by the great food and nice vibes of this coffee shop. The drinks were great, I got a coffee and a seasonal drink that had a chocolatey, miso, and sesame profile, which was awesome. I also got the breakfast sandwich which was ok, but I think some of their other food choices looked better based on what I could see others eating. Definitely will need to come back and try something else. Other positives were that most tables had an outlet and there was plenty of seating, so it was a great spot to hang out and get some work done. read more
