We moved up the Hill a couple years ago and this is now our go to gas station. Was riding my bike to get some eggs and orange juice and David, the owner, had a 2008 BMW hardtop convertible for sale for a more than fair price. So I came home with more than breakfast essentials. Soon after, a belt started squealing on "White Lightning" and David offered to fix it for free? That doesn't happen too often anymore. Great gas prices, hand car wash and honest repair shop. Sold.

FRAUDULENT TRANSACTIONS! I am writing to formally report a…read morehighly concerning experience at a 7-Eleven location involving a duplicate gas charge and extremely unprofessional customer service. During my visit, I initially paid for gas inside the store; however, the employee entered the incorrect pump number. Believing the issue to be a system error when my pump did not activate, I returned inside and completed a second transaction. As a result, I was charged twice for what should have been a single purchase. After allowing 3-5 days for a potential automatic refund, I contacted my bank to dispute the duplicate charge. Following their review process, I was advised to seek resolution directly from the store. Upon returning to the location and speaking with the manager, I was informed that both transactions were recorded as completed at two different pumps within minutes of each other. I calmly explained that I only received one pump of gas and that the situation was likely due to an error made by the cashier. Rather than addressing the issue professionally or investigating further, the manager questioned my honesty and implied that I was being untruthful. I found this response deeply disappointing and frankly insulting. As a paying customer attempting to resolve a legitimate billing error, I expected professionalism, accountability, and a willingness to assist--not accusations and dismissiveness. The manager further refused to provide his name or the name of the employee involved, which only added to the lack of transparency and accountability. This experience has significantly impacted my trust in this location. I am a frequent customer of 7-Eleven stores, and to be treated in such a disrespectful and combative manner is both unacceptable and disheartening. I have submitted a complaint through official channels and am prepared to escalate this matter further, including filing a report with the Better Business Bureau. I respectfully requested a thorough investigation into this incident, appropriate corrective action, and a prompt resolution regarding the duplicate charge. I have also provided pictures of another transaction on a SEPARATE DAY to show that the pump prices are inaccurate. !Only reason I am giving 5 stars is so this review can be seen! FRAUDULENT!

The shop is exceptionally customer‑focused, professional, and friendly -- the kind of place that makes you feel confident coming back for any issue with your car. I own five different vehicles, including a Porsche and a Mercedes‑Benz G‑Wagon, and this shop handles everything from routine oil changes to more complex repairs with the same level of care and expertise. The mechanical staff is highly trained, thorough, and always takes the time to explain any issues in detail so I fully understand what's going on. This is a trustworthy, well‑run shop that consistently delivers excellent service. I recommend Silver Spur Arco Mechanical Repair to everyone.

I came in for a routine engine oil service. During the visit, I was told that my timing belt needed…read moreto be replaced, and I was given a quote for the repair. However, I had my timing belt replaced just two and half years ago and have driven only about 22,000 miles since then, so I felt something wasn't right. To get a second opinion, I took my car to a shop in Torrance. After inspecting the vehicle, they told me there was no clicking noise coming from the front of the engine, no visible cracks or other signs of wear on the timing belt, the timing belt did not need to be replaced. They also explained that the timing belt typically needs replacement every 60,000 miles, with inspections recommended every 30,000 miles. The only reason I went to Silver Spur Arco was because it is conveniently located next to my home. Based on my experience, I am concerned that they may have tried to sell me an unnecessary repair, possibly assuming that I was an older woman who would not know much about cars. My advice to others is to be cautious whenever you are quoted for a repair. If possible, always get a second opinion before approving expensive work. It could save you from paying for repairs that aren't actually needed.

When I questioned why I only received that amount after paying more, he was rude, dismissive, and acted like I was the problem. I only realized it after I finished pumping and saw that the total only went up to the amount he claimed I had paid. I counted my money multiple times before handing it over, so being told otherwise was extremely frustrating. It was only a small amount off , but that doesn't make it okay ... it was still my money. More than anything, I'm disappointed by how poorly the situation was handled and by the complete lack of customer service or accountability. Honestly one of the worst experiences I've had at a gas station.

Apart from that, the disgusting short Indian man you inevitably end up having to talk to inside apparently thinks he can talk to customers however he wants and nothing will happen to him. I've been going here for as long as I've been driving. Since I was 16. I've been a loyal customer my entire adult life and the nerve of this guy to yell at me over asking him a question about the recent spike in pricing. It took every ounce of energy in my body to restrain myself and leave before I did anything I would've regretted. I can't understand how this man is still employed the way he talks to customers. Makes zero sense.

I had a very disappointing experience with this shop. I…read morebrought my truck in for what was supposed to be a routine oil change. Throughout the process, I dealt directly with the owner. Instead of a straightforward service, I was repeatedly told that more and more repairs were needed. One explanation that really raised concerns for me was being told that my water pump failed because of "recycled oil." That didn't make sense to me, and it made me question the accuracy of everything else I was being told. When I finally got my truck back, the check engine light was on. I was then told it needed spark plugs as well. Communication was also poor--I was told they had misplaced my phone number, which caused unnecessary delays. The biggest frustration came at the end. After everything that had already happened, I was told that because I came in late which was not true, I now needed an entirely new engine that would cost around $6,000. From my perspective, what started as a simple oil change turned into a series of expensive diagnoses, poor communication, and a vehicle that came back with more problems than it had when I dropped it off. Based on my experience, I would not return and cannot recommend this shop. I would encourage others to ask questions, get everything in writing, and consider getting a second opinion before authorizing major repairs.
