I was coming to this location because it was close to the 110 S freeway but after yesterday morning's issue, I will not be going back to that location ever again. First off, only go to this location if you are using a credit card to get gas. WHY? Because the guy who works the morning shift does not get there until after 6am most times so the door is locked. Yesterday morning was no different. I unfortunately left my cash at home, so I had to use my credit card and so of course the cashier was not there and not did not arrive until 6:18 am. When he did arrive, he did not apologize for the wait and when he unlocked the door to go in, I attempted to follow behind him and his response was "Uh Uh Uh Uh". So rude! So I stood outside for a few tics and ended up going to the Chevron gas station up the street which had better service. This guy never says good morning and always looks mad or upset because he had to come in. Poor customer service and will be looking for the number to call corporate for file a complaint. Do not go to this gas station if you don't have to. There is a Chevron up the street on Mission that I will be using from now on that has better service AND opens on time. read more

Aside from the good gas prices I initially came to this location out of convenience. However, now I come here because of Nancy. She always greets you with a smile and takes the time to ask how your day is going. She takes pride in her job and often I'll find her sweeping outside or tiding up indoors. The store is always neat & tidy. I'm not sure what she does but when she brews the coffee it taste so good. Nancy is a model employee. I wouldn't be surprised if she were promoted to manager one day because she is management material. If I need to fill up. I'll pass other gas stations to come here because I know Nancy will brighten my day. * I also want to give a shout out to Jason. He is very sweet & helpful. read more

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE TODAY I stopped by this ARCO to pay cash for gas inside, and while I was there I decided to try one of their coffee slushies. Unfortunately, my experience wasn't great. After paying, I had to go back inside two more times because my pump wasn't working. On my third trip in, the cashier told me the pump was finally working -- which was fine -- but I also mentioned that the drink I purchased tasted terrible, almost like mold, and asked politely if I could switch it out for another flavor. Instead of helping, the cashier (a young woman with a nose piercing) rolled her eyes, mumbled something under her breath, and said "I guess" in a rude tone. It was unprofessional and unnecessary. I wasn't even asking for a refund, just an exchange. I understand everyone can have an off day, but this kind of attitude toward customers isn't acceptable. A little courtesy and customer service go a long way. read more

On June 16, I went to this location for gas. After going inside to make my purchase, my new ATM card was declined. Dale, the cashier asked me, in a contemptuous tone, "Is it stolen?" I was too stunned to address his statement at that moment. I had to go outside to call my bank to resolve my card issue. Once resolved, paid for no more than 2 gallons outside. Why only two? Because an ARCO employee accused me of using a stolen card! I came to this location for fuel, not a micro-aggression. How could I fill up my tank after such a rude and hostile comment? I got only the amount of gas I needed to get to the next stop. After paying for my gas at pump 11, I went back inside to deal with Dale. I expressed my shock and upset at being accused of a crime when I simply was having trouble with a new card. I also said what he did was effed up (including the "f," I'll admit to that). I was upset at him seeing a mistake and framing it as a criminal action. He tried to make excuses but I told him that such a question did nothing to resolve my card issue. The only point in asking a customer if they are using a stolen card is to humiliate them and to project whatever bizarre stereotypes he has about a particular group onto a single member of that group. Regardless of why Dale committed a micro aggression against me, his actions were outrageous, inappropriate and outright hostile. I would never feel comfortable dealing with this person again. I asked Dale for how to contact the ARCO owner, he directed me to his coworker or manager, Nancy. Although she was professional and listened to my concern, I don't feel that it is enough to address his actions towards me. So after leaving for an appointment, I returned to ask Nancy as to how to contact the owner. Nancy was no longer at the location so I asked Dale for this information instead. Dale refused to provide this to me and said I had to get it from Nancy and she wouldn't return for another 2 hours. As a result, I am writing about my experience on this platform. I look forward to how this issue will be resolved. I can't imagine that ARCO is okay with employees basically accusing customers of using stolen cards to make purchases. Unbelievable. read more

I don't typically write reviews for gas stations as you can tell from my profile, but I was really struggling finding a place with air for tires that wasn't out of service or only accepting quarters with service marts open at 7am on Saturday. If you're looking for a place to put air in, come here! It's super easy to use as well (clamp down to push air out) and in great shape. Just know that you'll need a tool to measure the air pressure in your tires (or at least I didn't see a gauge anywhere). Shout out to the guy at the mart who helped me!!! So friendly and helpful! Love this gas station, it's off the Orange exit on the 110N in South Pass, close to TJ, Senor Fish and restos. It's the lowest price gas in the Pasadena, no lie. It's a standard Arco gas station but hey, this week it's $2.45 a gallon, that's freakin' cheap and while there are other gas stations with lower rates, this is close. . I live around the corner from this gas station in South Pasadena for 40 years. This is my go to place to gas up and buy refreshments. Today, 3/4/24, I experienced very bad customer service from a cash register attendant named Jason. I have never had bad customer service at this store. Jason is never friendly and can't muster up a smile. Today, I paid for my small purchase with a $20 bill and asked for 5 one dollar bills. He rolled his eyes, grumbled and shook his head whispering something I couldn't understand. I asked if he had one dollar bills and he snapped with an unpleasant NO. I said cancel my transaction because I don't appreciate his attitude. He said "fine, don't ever come back." I said "excuse me, did you say to never come back?" "He said YES, never come back." I asked his name and he proudly displayed his name tag. Wow, if he represents this store, then they just lost a long time customer. read more

As others have mentioned, come here for the gasoline, stay for the jazz. It creates a fantastic vibe when you are running a relatively mundane, and usually less-than-fun, task. They have great pricing, and I've never had an issue with anything at this station. Sure, when it's busy, it can be hectic, and people can be a bit testy, but it's not the fault of the location's owners or management for the way people act in situations that require patience and restraint. I'll keep coming here, for as long as possible, because prices are good as are the vibes, and in our current car culture, that's as good as it gets. read more

Phuq this place! Recently went in for a petrol stop. Stopped at the ATM right before. Withdrew $40. I did not realize it at the time but the twenty dollar bills were stuck together. They were new and waxy bills. Went inside to pay thinking I was only giving $20. After pumping, I open my wallet and realize I accidentally gave my other $20. I go back in and Mr. Worldwide/Pitbull looking fella who took my cash (OR SHOULD I SAY STOLE) denied having my other bill. No need to go here to receive discourteous and dishonest service from the Pitbull wannabe or rude ladies in the morning. Go to the Arco on Fair Oaks. I have been coming here for years. They consistently have the cheapest gas in town. Back in the day, I actually used to get my smog checks done here but they discontinued that service years ago. The only bad thing is that it's pretty crowded during the day. Early morning and late evenings are not too bad. But more times than not, I end up passing it because it's too much of a madhouse when it's packed. And it's literally an accident waiting to happen. Cars trying to tightly maneuver around each other, cars trying to get in and out of the lot...no thank you! When it's not crowded, it's a nice experience. It's the only gas station I know of that has jazz playing on its loudspeakers. It also has complimentary hand sanitizer dispensers at the fuel stations and the smell of it is really good! So when you get back in your car, you won't knock out your passengers with the smell of gasoline on your hands. You will actually smell fresh and breezy! The jazz and hand sanitizer make this the coolest gas station in town. Debit card or cash only. If you want to avoid the 35 cent surcharge for using a debit card, bring cash. read more

Ahhh Arco how I love thee. You consistently have the cheapest gas prices around and you are walking distance from my apartment. So even when I'm a dumbass and drive to the gas station without bringing my wallet. I know I can make a 3 minute walk to pick it up and come back. Since gas prices are the cheapest in town, be prepared to wait during heavy traffic hours. It won't be a long wait, but some people are pretty damned aggressive when it comes to pulling up to the pump. read more

These guys in the repair shop are awesome! I started using them when I needed a smog check to renew my car registration. Since then I have been back for oil changes, brakes. These guys go the extra length while I had my car in for service they saw my tires needed to be rotated and they fixed a tire that had a nail in it which I didn't know. They didn't charge me for the extra work. That's what I call excellent customer service! read more

Very small gas area and an even smaller store. The drinks were really disorganized! We had to look in all the cases just to find the regular-sized bottle of Sprite. They really try to sell the 1-litres or the cans. Instead of either organizing it by brand or type of drink, they just mix it all up! We had a bad experience, but it was our first time there and it was just the particular cashier we dealt with. While I was inside getting drinks, my uncle was outside pumping gas. Apparently, another customer had mistakenly given the cashier my uncle's pump number, so my uncle wasn't able to buy gas because it kept saying "pump in use". It then let him pump about $20 worth of gas, but stopped working. My uncle came inside to see what was wrong with the pump while I was checking out with the cashier. She pointed at my uncle and asked if he was with me, loudly saying that he didn't pay for his gas. My uncle handed her his debit card and said to charge him for the gas and put the drinks on his card as well, since I hadn't paid yet. She charged him, put the drinks in the bag and handed them to me. As we're leaving the store, she YELLED for us to come back because I hadnt' paid for the drinks yet. Why on Earth did she bag them AND give them to me if they weren't paid for yet? Ugh. Idiot! read more

I'm very sure that I gave him $40 because I didn't have any cash, and just got $30 bills only from a bank. I told him, it he didn't give me a $10 credit. Cheapest gas in the area. There's a 35cents charge if u use debit card, but if u get a full tank of gas, still worth it. Gets busy around rush hour at night when everyone is stopping for gas on their way home, but otherwise there's no wait. The convenience is tiny. Good selection of energy drinks and gum. When you're going to get something fixed on your car, I don't care what it is, you're never in a good mood. It's a given fact. no one shows up to an auto repair shop with a smile. SOooo.. I was in this situation this morning. I needed a flat tire fixed. I had no idea it needed to be replaced. I stepped into their service center. There was ONE technician and he was fixated on changing the oil on a Miata. I waited for a while, with no recognition. No, "hi can i help you?" no "be right there." not even a flippin hand wave, for cookies sake. finally i asked the gas attendant if there was anyone who could help me, seeing as Miata-tech guy couldn't scratch his ass and change oil at the same time if he had an itch. but alas, gas attendant-guy couldn't leave his designated post, and only said, "there should be." after waiting what seemed to be another 5-10 minutes, Miata-guy finishes up and decides to help me out. before checking out my tire, he jumps in my car to move it. now, i just want to know, what does it mean when your auto guy asks, "is there a trick to turning on your car?" and you have to tell him, "try stepping on the clutch." after finding the "kill switch" he discovered my tire was beyond repair and switched it out for the spare. finally, big-boss man decides to show up, just in time to lay the bill on me. i expressed to big-boss-man my displeasure for paying for a quick tire change. the fact that i could have done the same thing myself for free should relate the incredible ease of this service. i waited longer for someone to recognize me than the service actually took. big-boss-man, now big-ANGRY-boss man flails his arms in a raging banter, reaches behind himself a flings a handful of poo at me, while i'm trying to pay. .. .. ok, so there was no poo involved. but he did rant off something about the pressure gun and crap. whatever - i'd rather pay good money for a tech who knows how to turn on my car and can take care of me in a timely, pleasant manner, than to hassle with angry, poo flinging, techs who cant multi-task. read more

Cheapest gas in the neighborhood but their staff are dicks! I had a minor fendir bender and needed a screw driver to attach my bumper so I could get home to my real tools. They have a mechanic station. I asked to use a screw driver and the told me no. So I walked in there and took a screwdriver, used it and returned it right after. I loathe this place. It is always crowded, any time, any day. Getting in or out is a pain in the ass, as it is on the north west corner of Orange Grove and Mission (two busy streets). Bad setup-the pumps are wide enough to get two cars, but when two cars are side by side, there's not much room in between. Not only that, they have the stupid short hoses, which barely reach the car as it is, so it definitely won't reach if you are too far from the pump. I feel stuck going here, as it has low gas prices for the area and is close to the freeway. They get one star because you can't give no stars, and the second star is purely because their prices are the lowest around the area. read more
