My wife and I were walking around the neighborhood when we spotted this Arc'teryx store. It reminded us that our youngest son had been asking for a new jacket. We're from the SF Bay Area, where the weather changes a lot, but most days the mornings and evenings stay pretty cool. Big thanks to Sam for helping us pick out his first Arc'teryx piece. He asked what kinds of activities our son likes to do, and we figured out the right one together. Our son sent a photo to confirm it looked good. Teens seem to love one answer responses (if any). We felt welcome right away when we walked in. Sam was super friendly and knew his stuff. You could tell he's passionate about the brand, told us a bit of the history on how they got started in Vancouver. He explained about the waterproof zippers and how Arc'teryx keeps improving things for the better. I was impressed with the quality of the fabrics--they felt tough and well-made. When our son tried the jacket on when we got back to the bay, the small size fit him just right--he's a slim 5'7" teen. We'll definitely come back and tell our friends to check out this store. This review is more for Arc'teryx as a company and not as much for the store location which was good in general. I had six-year old Beta SV that was delaminating so I submitted an online warranty claim which included photos of my issue. Arc'teryx responded promptly and offered to give me a voucher for the retail value of my jacket. I dropped off my jacket at the La Brea store, received an online voucher and purchased a new jacket that came in two days. Till today, after a decade, my navy blue cerium jacket still looks like brand new. I also have a few gear for different outdoor activities. This brand utilizes top notch premium quality materials. Technology in garment form. Finally, a retail store opened up. Unfortunately, REI only carry limited items and it's the main reason to pay a visit. It's nice to see the whole shabang in one space. The staff were helpful and introduced me to their newest products. It's pricey but it's worth it. Light and comfortable. Completely incompetent staff working there. One guy was on the phone helping someone and then went back to check something (fair). The other guy was zipping up jackets in the rack being oblivious while the front was forming a long line of customers trying to buy stuff. Finally the girl just had no idea what she was doing. I had asked her for a harness size. Said they didn't have it in store. Then I asked her the difference between the women's and the men's harnesses and if I could it's get a smaller size in men's. She had zero clue that I was talking about. Lying and saying that the only difference between the gendered harnesses was just the size. Wow so dumb. I love arcteryx and I'm so happy that this store opened up nearby. 2 downsides... they NEVER have sales and parking is horrible. I called and asked if parking is available and they said they had 1 spot in the back open. So they let us park there. I would much rather purchase my arcteryx gear from rei or other sporting goods stores since they have sales from time to time. But overall, employees there are very nice and helpful. read more

More overpriced garbarge. Bought a 450.00 down jacket and it sheds feathers like a bird after two weeks. Do not buy anything down filled from this company as the material is so thin you can see what is inside the jacket. The zippers are cheap plastic. Bought a Beta AR Shell jacket with Gortex and it absorbs water like a sponge. The quality of these products are simply no good. They do not back their products either. Avoid Arc'terx at all costs. The store is beautiful but the employees aren't helpful and are very rude. Would suggest to ARCTERYX they pay closer attention to those running their locations. We were shopping for new winter jackets and clothing and made the trip from Pasadena to purchase in person. The employees sat on their phone the entire time could hardly muster a "hello" and offered zero help. Would recommend shopping online or at REI where you'll actually be treated respectfully and can get assistance for a large purchase. Hard to knock the store itself, or the employees, or the goods-- when you are shopping Arc'teryx, you know you're paying high prices for high-end goods, and hence you already know what you're getting in to. And it's definitely good to try on expensive gear beforehand, especially considering Arc'teryx's eye-watering prices, which are higher than even many of their decidedly-not-cheap competitors (!). However, the store itself is... basic? Even when spiffed up for promotional events (looking at you, Ikon Pass), it's clear it's basically a cube-shaped space that sells clothes. And it doesn't aspire to do more, or to distract you with shiny things. Which is actually perfectly fine. But it's also hard to justify a higher rating than this for "perfectly fine." read more

This is by far the best place to get the most high tech outdoor and skiing gear. Their staff is highly knowledgeable and they explain all the features of their products. I believe all their staff either skis or snowboards and hikes so they use this gear and know it first hand. I was helped by a salesperson who greeted me as soon as I walked in and assisted me with getting my sizes and colors. We spent about an hour and I could not be happier about the results. Arc'teryx makes some of the highest end outdoor gear around. The gear is excellent and the company policies (replacement, repair) are as well. The store is lovely and everyone who works there is friendly and helpful. The gear is very expensive, though, so be warned. However it is long lasting and as I mentioned the company has excellent repair policies. Very glad to have this store in the neighborhood as I'm a gear junkie, and even if I usually don't buy anything, it's a great place to check out the latest gear from one of the best. read more

I needed to place a large order for an upcoming client event in Tahoe. I was referred to Atc'teryx's La Brea location, from a colleague who placed a large group order with them, for a previous ski trip. I had the pleasure of speaking with quite a few people, but I can only remember Annie's name, but all were tremendously helpful. Annie assisted me with narrowing down my selection and checked inventory, all the while I didn't honestly know how many jackets I actually needed since the group numbers were not final. But she assisted me as if I were buying the product that day! After a few days of back and forth's, I realized there was a location in my area, and Annie assisted me with that transition and connected me to their Palo Alto location where the service there was identically excellent. Cameron and Brie are absolute angels, and both were very patient with me. Brie helped me strategize and gave me peace of mind by placing an expedited order for me and even referred me to a local Embroider. She also offered to take my order once it arrives at their location to the embroiderer!!!! This gesture I would never expect, and yet it was offered-wow! If you need an example of what going above and beyond is -this is it! Arc'teryx definitely knows how to hire great people!
