Not ten feet from where I'd parked, I spotted something that looked like a $595 Dries Van Noten bucket hat inside this cute, tiny store. I walked in and discovered that it was a local brand and actually made from vegan leather but had a nice matte finish. Alli was super kind as I tried on all three colors before deciding on one in a faint red. Somewhere between red and brown. With some caramel in there? Like Dentyne gum...but also not. I've often visited Atwater Village, but I hadn't checked out this shop until today. The window display caught my eye, and decided to go in! They offer a wide selection of flowy, cute dresses and matching sets, perfect for LA's weather and reasonably priced too. After following The Runway Outlet on Instagram I went to their website to have a sneaky gander at what kind of goodies they had for sale!!! After perusing the site I decided to actually go into the store and have a look in person. There is ample of parking around the store and very easy to find. As soon as I walked in the owner, Alli, welcomed me into the store with a friendly hello which was so refreshing !! Straight away I knew she was Australian and immediately felt like we were family. She mentioned if I purchase through the Instagram link I would get a $25 discount as a promotion as a new customer and another 10% discount if picking it up in store!!! The process was super easy and saving $25 in these hard times was a bonus!!! I purchased an abundance candle (cause we can all use some extra abundance right!!!!!) and a sleeping mask set with a silk pillowcase, scrunchie and sleeping mask with an adjustable strap (like a bra). I practically got my candle for free!!! There were so many beautiful one off items that I must definitely go back and try on when I have a good hour to spare. I constantly get asked about my outfits and for those in my circle they know half the time my answer of where I got it from will be here. I've been shopping here for 7 years now since the days they were in Silverlake and I followed them over to their new location. The owner Alli is the sweetest and a great stylist- she's literally become my friend!!! Everyone I've brought her- friends and family alike have appreciated it and now adopt it as their own. Mostly LA based and Australian brands. Some of the clothing is literally currently available on the brand's website or online sites like revolve for 1.5 times the price. Not cheap- but also not fast fashion- quality pieces at reasonable prices. Some sample sizes. Some overstock. Some one-offs. Always unique, fun, flirty, feminine pieces in store. Pro tip- visit often because it literally changes so quickly! They often have sales too. Every time I walk into this shop, I walk out with a unique piece that I could not find anywhere else. I'm not a small girl, and I can still find items that fit my style and body. The owner is lovely, caring and really not the typical pushy salesperson at small boutiques. I always feel seen, taken care of, and I feel comfortable and confident looking at clothing there. A great shop if you're very into that boho aesthetic: high-low skirts, super washed tank tops, off the shoulder everything. There's not much range in terms of the aesthetic but if you're into it, then perfect. I walked through the shop and there was a lot of poly, printed blouses for around $40, light wash distressed jeans for like $50, and crochet maxi dresses for more. The salesgirl was nice enough and the store was clean. There's a sale rack in the back that you could prob find some good deals. Parking lot is a big bonus. read more

This little shop (which sits next to a record store and Silverlake Wine) is small but has a lot of women's clothing (including a lot of dresses). I would not try to pass myself off as an expert in women's dresses, but the options here seem nice (with several light dresses--perfect for summer). There were also deals aplenty with % discounts and 2-for type specials. They did have one rack of men's clothing (mostly light shirts with a nice feel to them that ran around $20). The owner was nice and very helpful. If you are a local or live near the Silver Lake area, The Runway Outlet may be a worthwhile destination if you fancy clothing boutiques. The record store, Silverlake Wine and The Runway Outlet share a small and free parking lot. It is a small lot, but it actually has a good number of spaces. read more

I live in the area and have gotten a few cute dresses here. I came in about a month after having a baby to find some new outfits that would make me feel good as a new Mom. Unfortunately one of the dresses I bought didn't quite fit me right in the bust as I'm still nursing. I just wanted to exchange it for something better fitting, I brought it in 3 weeks later (unworn, with tags, and receipt) and as the other negative reviews say their return policy is a ridiculous 7 days. As much as I love SF, my city cannot hold a candle to LA in terms of shopping. LA has a range of styles, from hippy to hipster to beachy to Beverly Hills diva, and in a range of prices to accompany each fashion segment. SF seems to only have two...Mission hipster and Marina douchebag, and most of it seems to be overpriced. I digress. Anyways, I stumbled upon the Runway Outlet after enjoying coffee across the street at Silverlake Coffee Company. And I am SO glad I did! All of the clothing is from LA-based designers, and a good portion of the clothes are actually assembled in the US. The woman who owns the shop is a woman after my own heart...I think I pulled at least 20 pieces off the racks to try on. In particular, I went crazy with Viereck, who I discovered in an SF boutique and LOVED the simplicity/elegance/fit of her clothes. The best part of all of this were the prices. Unbelievably cheap! For the knockout red Viereck dress I bought in SF at Ambiance, I paid about $80 on sale. At the Runway, I bought a Viereck dress and a Viereck shirt for $88 (also on sale, but still!). It's probably a good thing the Runway does not exist in San Francisco. But I will be frequenting it every time I'm in town. read more

Lived in the area for years and I've always wanted to check out this store. I was a little hesitant because of the prices, but tonight I finally managed to make my way to the store after perusing records next door at Rockaway. I initially came to TRO to check out the CopperPeace bags, which I loved, but still too expensive for me. I was able to browse through the sale racks and the other racks before finding pieces I really wanted to try on. Prices varied widely and size-wise seemed to accommodate everyone. Though, I could understand being frustrated not being able to find larger sizes in these great pieces. In order to really find what you're looking for, you really need to dedicate 30-60 mins to just go through the racks. For such a small store, they stuff it full of items. The ladies working here ( I'm assuming one of them was the owner) were very helpful and also pointed out other racks I might have been interested in looking at. I found a great dress from Line and Dot for $50, a steal compared to what the garment would normally cost. I fit me well, and I couldn't put it down once I had tried it on. I absolutely love this outlet and will definitely be back. I'm so glad my girlfriend and I happened to be in the area and decided to stop in. The outside was very colorful, so it was hard to miss. Parking was easy to find, which is always a plus. We felt very welcomed the moment we stepped through the door. The lady working was super sweet and helpful, but wasn't pushy in any way. We didn't expect to be there as long we did, but we ended up closing down the store and never felt rushed. We were extremely happy with the customer service we received. They usually run sales during holidays. I went during their 4th of July sale ( I think items that were red, white or blue were an extra 25% off or something like that) and came out with some great basic pieces. read more

Picked up a steal of a deal by the brand "Stella & Jamie".... very sleek black dress with mesh cutouts in every direction with the only exposed skin on the piece was the back. The Runway Outlet is the artist formerly known as The Circle, under new ownership and with the help of a WONDERFUL facelift and new designers in stock. I've been a regular customer for four years, and over that time the shop has only gotten more interesting. They carry samples and limited collections from high-end designers, most of them small labels, many of them local. Imagine your favorite items from Fred Segal. Then imagine buying all of that at 50-75% off. The stock over the past three months has been amazing -- my breath is taken away every time I walk in. The collection always changes, and its consistently been stunning. There are always sales on top of the sample prices -- you can always walk out with something new and fantastic for $30 or $40. If you have $100 to spend, you can get something truly luxe -- Ali has been stocking a lot of silk and beautifully tailored items lately. I have shopped here many times and tried returning a pair of sunglasses that broke where the link between the lens and ear piece grew weak causing it to snap in half. I'm not much of a yelper, but thought I'd throw some love to this little store. I popped in yesterday on my way to the wine store (Rose´ season!) as I hadn't been in in a while. I still have a $300 dress in my closet from this store that I purchased years ago for $85. It is still one of my all time favorite pieces. I didn't have time to try anything on and the woman (i think owner) helped me pick out a cute top and a dress. When I got them home and tried them on they were both two of the most well suited pieces for my shape and color that I have purchased in a year. I have just always scored at this spot. I generally end up spending a tad more money than I intended to but that is because I lack self control and they have so many beautiful things. read more
