Had a "Fantastic Level" Trane AC installed on July 4th by Arctic. It took almost 12 hours and an initial comment that their sales guy sold us the wrong unit after it was already craned to the top of our condo building on the 3rd of July. Our family of 5 are here for the holiday weekend and we needed this install completed. After supposedly discussing it with Trane, they figured out how to install it. I was not confident with this sudden change in what they were saying and their ability to get it done but they did finish at around 8pm. Unfortunately AC doesn't flow well now to our back bedroom like it used to with the last unit. At 12:20am on the 5th the AC kicked on with a lot of noise and a warning light came on the panel. I called their 24 hr service twice to come out and never received a callback from a supposed "on call" technician. They called at 8am today and I'm pretty upset that this system ran through the night with a "done temp sensor issue" on a newly installed system. At this point an independent tech from Trane needs to inspect what they've done. Terrible service for a $15M system. Bottom line: Don't use them for their top of the line Trane product. They don't build confidence in any of their work and it was a terrible experience. When I called last night I also asked to speak to the owner today. We haven't heard from him/her either. They knew this was a bad experience and we should have heard from them this morning with an apology and commitment to resolve this. read more

Terrible experience. They hire contractors for their jobs. Ripped the new ductwork in the ceiling when installing it and it leaked condensation through the drywall in the ceiling. Had to rip out the drywall in the ceiling and replace the ductwork. The drywall guy slapped the paint on everything slopping flat ceiling paint all over our semigloss painted beams. Spent many hours scrubbing the flat paint off and then had to repaint the beams. 0 stars. read more

I have been a customer since 1997, I have never been dissatisfied with the service from the various technicians at Arctic Air. One thing I have always appreciated is the response time. When your system fails in the middle of the day they find a way to get someone free to head your way. The techs are also looking out for your best interest. Last year a Tech after servicing my system, told me I might get another year of use out of it and I should consider saving for the expense. He then proceeded to work up an estimate to replace my system with a new Trane. Well fast forward to last week 13 months after that visit and my system died. I should have listened last year. Anyway the Arctic Air team ordered the new system, installed it and did it for the price they quoted me 13 months ago. When I need help I'll continue to call them. read more

Cody from Arctic Air Systems was scheduled for my semi annual ac check on 2/1! I have a contract that gives me special discounts! I received reminder texts prior to the actual day in case I needed to reschedule! On the scheduled day I received a reminder text first thing and then another alert when he was on his way! He arrived within the 2 hour window - right on time. Professional, thoughtful and friendly! He is very considerate and careful to never make a mess. He checked every part of my syst em carefully and efficiently. As my system is now almost 14 years old f(originally installed by Arctic Air and maintained by them) he suggested an acid wash to clean the coils. Wow! I was amazed how dirty they were and three wasp nests were cleared away! I highly recommend this company and their outstanding employeesew, especially Cody who has been my service agent the past few years! An outstanding expert! I thought I did my homework when I decided to go with Arctic Air Systems. Boy was I wrong! My AC compressor went out around mid August 2021. I searched for a new AC system since the air handler was no longer under warranty and was 7 years old. There were several good AC companies in the Largo FL area to choose from but Arctic Air had the most positive reviews online. I should have dug deeper. They initially came out and added some freon to my system. The freon was expensive. I thought they were a good company so I purchased a 2 year service contract. They said I would get 15% discount on all service and parts. The total for the first visit was $764.40. Apparently, the leak in my compressor was bad because I had to call them out again 2 days later. They added more freon and charged me more money. I got a couple of quotes for a new system from a couple of different companies including Arctic Air. I received 2 vastly different quotes from 2 companies for the same exact system (compressor and air handler). The Artic Air quote was $1337.00 higher than a competitor so I asked Arctic if they could match the price of their competitor. It was mid August 2021 and too hot to be without AC. Arctic took their time responding to my price match request but they eventually agreed. They led me to believe they could install the system fairly quickly but I had to wait over a week to get it installed. Installation was another horror story. They ordered the wrong system. The air handler was too big to fit in my AC closet but they shoved it in there anyway. They did not replace the old drain pan. Instead, they installed the new system but left the old drain pan. I was wondering why they did that and I figured it out later. Since the new system was too big for my closet, they couldn't replace the old drain pan because the new drain pan wouldn't fit. So they installed the new system on top of the old drain pan. To install a bigger system the installer cut the drain pan on all 4 corners in order to setup the new stand for the air handler. I didn't notice what they did until a few days later when the horror show got worse. But first I have to go back to the 2 year service contract that I purchased that entitled me to a 15% discount on all service and parts. I did not receive any discount for the new system. If they had honored the terms of the contract, I would have saved just over $1100.00. I own a 3 story townhome and the new AC air handler was installed in the 3rd floor closet. A few days later my wife notices a dripping sound coming from the air handler closet. When I open the closet I find the mess and another stage of terrible customer service and incompetence begins. I don't remember how many times I had to call them to get them to come out to fix the mess they created. They did not flush out the drainage pipe to the air handler and it got clogged. Water from the primary drain pan was backed up and leaking down to the secondary drain pan. Yes, the secondary drain pan is the same one that they cut at the corners to get the new system to fit. The water was leaking down to the secondary drain pan but the water level never rose high enough to trip the secondary safety switch. The secondary safety switch could have saved the day if they had not cut the secondary drain pan because the technician that installed my system failed to connect the primary safety switch properly. The primary safety switch is designed to turn off the system when the water level rises to an overflowing level. But since they did not wire it correctly, it failed. The water leaks down to the secondary drain pan and this pan has a safety switch that is also designed to shut the system off but it never triggered because the drain pan doesn't hold water. All the water draining into the secondary drain pan is leaking out the sides where the installer cut the drain pan and down to my second floor. Needless to say, I go downstairs and find a huge mess in my ceiling and walls. So third floor carpet and floor are drenched, 2nd floor ceiling and walls are drenched and leaking down to my first floor. They finally send a technician out and he fixes the problem with the primary safety switch and flushes out the drainage pipe. They said they would fix the water damage done to my home but here I am in January of 2022 and they still have not come out to fix the water damage. I later found out that they recently changed ownership. All the good reviews were due to the previous owner and management team. I've lost count of how many times I've called them to get them to come out and fix the mess they created. Most times they don't even answer my calls and when they do they just say what they think I want to hear but nobody ever shows up. They agreed to refund me some money that they overcharged me for freon but they never did. I wish I never heard of Arctic Air systems. read more

Living in Florida, HVAC is of premier importance. It gets unbelievably hot and incredibly humid in the Summer and early Fall. My unit at home was only 7 years old and it completely failed one afternoon at 5 pm. I phoned Arctic and got the answering service. Lo and behold, first thing next morning, I received a call from Jordan, telling me he would do everything he could to get me a replacement that day. He was unsuccessful, but lo and behold, he phoned first thing next day and had not only a new unit for me, but a crew of his installers to get the job done. Above and beyond in my book. The only hitch was the crane which had to come and go 3 times that day, but finally ... all was completed perfectly. (The county confirmed it, the work was done perfectly!) Don't go anywhere else in Pinellas County (or the Pinellas area) without first contacting Arctic Air Systems. A very satisfied consumer. read more

We initially had great service but that has changed in the last month. Our AC was malfunctioning (the temp in the house was higher than the thermostat setting). Jim came out and the problem appeared to be resolved, but then it recurred. We were charged another service call ($99) when Steve came out, but after a few days the problem recurred. When we scheduled Jim to come out, he was a no-show twice. We were told by Linda (at Arctic) that we needed to go to the panel on the handler, remove it ourselves and change out the fuse. It appears that Arctic doesn't warranty their work. read more

Absolutely horrible. I paid for artic air to replace my ducts in my home and to install a air purifier that i paid over $2500. The kids they sent out took apart our system and damaged the warranty and did not even pass inspection from the city. This company put in a Reme Halo air purifier at the suggestion of our contractor. They are not my normal HVAC company for good reason. When Moe installed the $978 purifier on 10/27/20, he had to come back within ab hour b/c the a/c stopped working. Then on 12/26/20 no heat or a/c. On 12/28/20 my regular HVAC company came out & discovered Arctic Air failed to install the required transformer with the Reme Halo. I contacted Arctic Air & Frank (service manager) refused to acknowledge any of this. I had to pay $284 for the missing transformer & $360 for labor to replace a bad motor module which could have been damaged by the missing transformer. I definitely suggest using a different HVAC company. read more

Let me first start this with, I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years with this company! On January 2nd 2022 my AC went out that I just purchased with them back in May 2020. So I called Artic Air and they sent out a technician named Cody he diagnosed my problem and said that the part was under warranty but the labor wasn't. But if we bought a 5 year extended warranty that it would take care of the coast. This being $589.00 for the 5 year to extended the warranty, so we did that. He told us that the part would not arrive for 2-3 days. So I called to check on the part on Thursday and didn't receive a call back from them until Friday morning saying that they have the part and would be able to come out between 3-5 . Today Friday January 7 they came out to tell me that the technician made a mistake and that it's going to cost another $569.00 to fix the problem because the extended warranty wouldn't start for another 90 days. So now this company has left me without air for a week and then has the never to tell me about this situation on a Friday at 4:00 o'clock in the afternoon knowing that I will not be able to hire anyone else to fix the problem. Jordan the gentlemen on the phone explained the problem to me while calling the owner Andrew to see what they can do to take care of me! I was told that they can refund the warranty money but I will still have to pay $569.00 for fixing the air conditioning today and that's the best that they would be able to do to make me happy. What a joke of a company!! If you want my advice stay far away from this company because this how they treat there loyal customers. Unbelievable!!!! No better service in the Tampa Bay Area!! Highly knowledgeable for service/repair as well as installation. You can rely on their findings and recommendations and very fairly priced- no gouging when you need help with no air and 88 inside! This is the second home I have used them in. When the air went down two days after moving in, called the company who did installation two years prior as thought that might be best. On hold for far too long, and was told that it was an extra $60 to make the service call same day or next day at a high rate that came to over $115 for the first hour. Then called Arctic Air Systems and they were out in under 3 hours at not extra charge. Best reasons for using them are honesty, responsiveness, customer care and integrity. My husband and I scheduled for a new AC to be installed September 2019, installation went smoothly (or so we thought) the workers were friendly and professional. All was well then the inspector came and it did not pass. I reached out to their main office to get this resolved. it is now august 2020 and our AC still has not been installed properly, i have tried multiple times to have them come out and fix the issues. workers have come out and then say "oh someone else will have to do this" then i hear nothing. Arctic air has also canceled a couple scheduled services with us when they were supposed to come out. We are still extremely frustrated with this company as we are making payments on an AC that is not even installed correctly. The most recent excuse I have received is that the install manager has been out of town for 3 weeks...ok what about the last 10 MONTHS. save yourself time and go with a different company. read more
