Yesterday our HVAC compressor died. Called Harbor Air and they sent Mike over to check it out immediately. He confirmed the compressor was done and found one which we had overnighted and next day he installed it. 90 degrees and 80% humidity isn't good for old geezers like us or Mike the pro that fixed the HVAC. They solved our problem quickly, efficiently and professionally! Great company. We are very thankful to have such a great local family owned company in our neighborhood! read more

No follow up. People did not get back to me on service on a unit they installed. Not the best impression for sure.

Nice people, but they replaced my smaller a/c unit with one much too large for my house 2 years ago and I've had nothing but issues since. My bill is OUTRAGEOUS, my house is humid (as the a/c blasts and shuts off too quickly and doesn't do much for humidity), and every room is a different temperature. My bedroom and living room are always 5 degrees warmer than the temperature is set. Now I have to do an "overcool for humidity" setting with TECO, which cools it longer to get my humidity to 78%. And this Trane is LOUD. I work from home, and it can be heard on calls and podcasts. So high marks for being a family business and nice people, but knowing what size unit to use in a medium-sized home is pretty important, especially for the money we fork out for something like this. My bill in May was over $300 for 1 person living here and that was with the windows open every evening from midnight to noon because it was still in the high 60's overnight. My friends have TWO HVAC systems (with a second floor home) and the temp on 70 at night, and their bill is $50 lower than mine right now. It doesn't add up and the only thing that can be causing this is the wrong size a/c. It's caused me so much expense. read more

Be careful if you choose to work with Kendall and Harbor Air. He's drinks starting early afternoon and continues driving around, going to customers homes, working on systems intoxicated. I wont go into much graphic detail but let's say from my own personal experience with Kendall i would advise not to be alone with him if you're a woman, sad as it is to say, for your personal safety you need to have your husband or a male neighbor ect there if at all possible. read more

We were so fortunate to be introduced to them today. They were able to squeeze us in today, same day. Our service tech, Mike arrived on time, was professional, and very pleasant. He quickly diagnosed the problem that was quickly resolved. Basically we had a dead rat in the outside unit and the very long tail was hitting the fan. Problem quickly solved at a very fair charge. We are scheduling them to take over maintenance starting Monday or soon as they can get on the schedule. Thank you. read more

I've used this company for years for my two rental units and they are fast, professional, reasonably priced, very responsive, and just nice, kind, wonderful people to work with! Tiffany, the scheduler, is always so nice on the phone, and the technicians we've worked with, especially Mike, are knowledgeable. They won't try to up-sell you on stuff you don't need, and are clean and quick with their work. I can't say enough nice things about the owner, Kendall, who responded to me even in the midst of personal hurricane recovery for himself, or worked safely with me to replace two AC units during the COVID pandemic. They fixed stuff for me after another company messed it up and ripped me off. Family run, very reasonably priced, very responsive, just plain good people to work with. Call them. Nice family run business. My AC went down twice when it was really hot. They came out and fixed things as quickly as possible. When a part held up repair they asked out of concern if we had a place to go and stay cool. Luckily we did. The prices are very fair. When repairs have been made, things work. I'm not particularly familiar AC units in a hot climate and Kendall has taken time to double check things and answer any questions I have. read more

Things started out great with this company, Kendall was very nice and helped us fix our AC. The second time we called him, he arrived to re-install a board and left with the AC not working. We called the next day and were told Kendall would be coming by that day. Kendall later TEXTED me saying he wouldn't be able to make it because he had too many clients, was overwhelmed, etc. He was incredibly unprofessional and I would not recommend. They can't keep up with the clients they already have. read more

Harbor Air has been very responsive, and they were able to send a tech out very quickly when our AC went out. Our AC stopped overnight, and when I called in the morning, they sent Bob the same morning! Bob was friendly, knowledgeable, and very personable. He was able to diagnose our problem and was diligent about figuring it out until it was corrected. Tiffany has always been helpful when making appointments as well. We've been using them for a couple of years now. We invested in a 3-year service program, and they kindly extended it by a year due to the year lost with Covid. Kendall and Tiffany are friendly, efficient, pleasant and kind to deal with in scheduling and service! Kendall is very skilled at what he does, thorough, efficient and very knowledgeable. The communication between the office, Kendall and myself was appropriate and superb. It was like dealing with friends or neighbors (that are friendly anyway!). Were do I begin from beginning to end. I called this company got there number from a friend . I called and Tiffany was so caring and professional despite that I was a wreck on the phone due to me just getting ripped off the day before from another company that lied to me . I called late in the afternoon and she had a guy come out within 2 hours !! Alex my technician was so nice , I explained my situation and he went over everything with me . Didn't push me into unneeded services. I actually bought a preventative maintenance plan. Very reasonable cost. See most Companies don't understand if you try to rip off people you never benefit!!! Keep the customer service high your prices reasonable and people will always come back. In conclusion I even had a phone call after my technician left from the owner Kendall to see if I was completely satisfied!!! That's what I'm talking about . I found Harbor Air on Yelp after another company decided to cancel on us last minute to fix our AC when it was 80 degrees inside the house. Tiffany was very friendly and accommodating on the phone and was able to get a serviceman out to us within 2 hours (and I had called late in the afternoon). Our service tech, Alex arrived earlier than expected and was friendly and most importantly honest! It was a quick fix and he was in and out in 15 mins. I was super impressed with Harbor Air for their professionalism and ability to accommodate on such short notice and of course their honesty. You can trust that they won't rip you off! Well this is odd. I wrote a very extensive review but it never posted. so sadly this won't be as awesome, but ALL POSITIVE !! One veteran to another I am happy Kendal is doing so well! Extremely Professional crew who treat you like family and go above and beyond to meet your needs and answer any concerns. Multiple occasions Ken and crew went out of their way to help me out in my time of need, calling to checkup on me and my home, dropping by to temp refill my ac during the cold snaps we had which was rare this past year but my luck, it was 50 degrees and I have not heat in the house. They answered my calls!. DO NOT consider hiring another company, Highly recommended if looking for contractor, look no further. You found the ONE. Love to know my fellow vet carries on the traditions of taking care of their own and doing honest work, being truthful to their customers and being dedicated to the community. Harbor Air is family-owned and operated which consists of both positives and negatives. On one hand, this company was very prompt with coming out for the initial quote, answering questions we presented, and the quality of the work performed on the job was exceptional. They were very nice throughout the process and it is visible they do try operating as well as they can for the most part. Issues did not arise until after the job was completed when we were billed for a cost 50% higher than what was originally agreed upon. I immediately called them back and left a message with them looking for clarification as this was not what was established up front. They called me back a few minutes later and explained that the original quote is accurate and they'll reach me again before processing the transaction the next morning. The next morning arrives and I receive a call from the owner explaining that it doesn't make any business sense for them to sell me an upgraded AC model at the price originally agreed to. I was very confused. Neither my wife nor I asked for an upgraded model and it was never communicated to us how much this would cost versus the standard. He offered to honor the cost of the standard model if they could come out and swap the updated model out. I explained this would not be an option as my wife had already taken a day off of work in order to oversee the first installation. After what seemed to be a frustrating call for both parties, we ended up paying higher than initially quoted but not 50%. If there had not been the mix-up with the pricing at the end, I would easily have given them five stars. Their work is quality and my wife and I have enjoyed the new Nest model that was installed; the need to barter at the end left me with a sour taste in my mouth however. read more
