I love to support new businesses and was happy to have the opportunity to do so with my girlfriends for my birthday brunch. We took an uber to not have to worry about parking but there seemed to be a few spots on the street if yku are lucky enough to get one. If not I guess you would park in the garage maybe. Walking in it's very cute, with lots of pink, flowers, greenery, nice spot for selfies. When we walked in a lady asked our name and took us to our table right away. My friends bought buffet tickets for noon and we arrived right at noon so I'm glad our table was ready. It's very quaint I would say no more than 18 tables maybe. I didn't like that two of us had to face the wall and the other two faced the rest of the restaurant. It's super tight seating so not sure how you could fix that other than get round tables instead of square. Here is where the less than 5 stars comes. Our tickets were for a noon brunch the Buffet was not ready until almost 1pm. That means we were literally sitting for almost an hour with no food. We did have mimosas which was nice and our server who was great made sure they were constantly full. But like no food for all that time is insane to me. Then when the buffet food was ready, they allowed people to go up table by table and someone even though we were there pretty early in the time segment our table went up last which meant we didn't eat until after 1pm. There was one person serving you in the buffet line and she gave you minimal food on these very tiny side plates which I'm sure is by design so you can't load your plate up. So I got one tiny piece of fish, one slice of bacon, one tiny chicken wing, like 6 green beans. Like just barely food. There was a gentlemen making made to order omelets but of course since it was just him you had to order and they bring it to you but by the time we got it we were basically done eating so it was a waste. The entire process felt very elementary, and they have a lot of room to grow and improve and grow this business. They have the potential to really take this far but they will need to invest into some to get it right. Would I come back, maybe in a few months for drinks and music not for the food though, it wasn't worth the money. read more

I came here for my birthday! They have a brunch with a Buffet and at the time unlimited mimosas! I will note they did inform us they are no longer allowed, by the state, to offer the unlimited mimosas so don't expect this to be offered. The service was great! Everyone was so pleasant and they kept our drinks full no need to ask! The food was delicious and fresh! I loved the DJ and the vibe was like we were out of town celebrating! Now the place is cute and definitely gives the vibe of a rolling out the red carpet when you walk in. The red carpet guides you to the front desk. I took my daughter since I knew she would love it. We were seated and provided a menu. Looking at the menu, I noticed it wasn't a big selection, but I rather enjoyed that. Prices were not too bad until I saw the cup size and the food. The bacon was that microwaveable bacon, so pieces were thin n small. All in all, I thought I would get fresh cooked food, and that was not what I received. Hmm, this is difficult. I am quite torn. I really wanted to like this place. I loved the concept, but alas... Let me just list what I liked and what I didn't: Liked: -The restaurant is beautiful -Instagram worthy all around -The DJ was playing not too loudly and nice relaxing music early in the morning -The mimosa glasses look nice, but are plastic, same goes for the charger plates -The dishes are cute -The server was very nice and tried her best -The omelet station made delicious omelets, but it was manned by Chef Dan, so I don't know if the regular chef is as good -The shrimp and grits were delicious (not visually pleasing though) -The chicken wings were very nice and even better with hot sauce -The gentleman at the door was also very friendly Not liked: - Signing up for brunch is on line only and of course pre-paid and quite cumbersome - When it is 2 minutes before opening, but they will not let you in even so it's cold and they have a bunch of folks huddled up outside and the staff just looks at you -You have to be checked in by someone with a handwritten list on a clip board which does not seem to be in any order, making entry very slow since they can't find the names. Most guests found their name before the host and pointed it out -You have to wait for your table to be called on before you can go to the buffet and as the first table to enter the restaurant we had to wait another 30 minutes before we got to go to the buffet -When you get to the buffet you get snarled at: 'Was your table called?'... I would have preferred a 'Welcome' or maybe a 'what can I get you" -The food sat out the entire time we were waiting to get started with brunch -We had signed up when bottomless mimosas were advertised, but now only 2 mimosas are included -Mimosas are served in plastic glasses, mostly juice and about lukewarm -The buffet is quite small -most items are dished out to you like the school cafeteria and about as friendly too -the shrimp and grits looked awful and you were dished out 1 shrimp per person, but it tasted really good -The biscuits were partially burned -Food ran low rather quickly and looks like once gone, it's gone -Seating is a bit tight in some areas Will I be back? Arden Cafe & Lounge is a gorgeous new establishment in downtown Indy. As others have mentioned, I'm torn. Torn because I love to patronize black-owned businesses, and there were some high points, but the lows were very low. Being directly downtown immediately off of the circle, as expected, parking is a nightmare. I ended up parking across the street in the mall lot due to the inclement weather, and paid $13 for the 2.5 hour visit. No bueno. My party had 2PM reservations, and I arrived at 1:54PM, but the door was locked and I wasn't invited in out of the cold and rain! Argh!!!! Why, why? I understand that the venue is small, but kindness and consideration goes a long way. I persisted at the front door and was finally allowed to enter at 1:58PM. As mentioned, the space itself is small but beautifully decorated. Our server was kind and gracious, and twenty dollars bought an all-you-can-eat buffet with an omelette station. Now, here's the thing: The food. Was. Delicious!! Hot and fresh, and the flavors were present! But, the cute cups holding the drinks were plastic, as was the cutlery. No, sir/no ma'm - I don't even use plastic at home if I can help it, and the cheapness was NOT appreciated. Please, Arden, elevate these items to meet the level of service and food, I beg of you! Lastly, the DJ was fantastic and kept the small crowd rocking, and a few folks even jumped on the small open space to line dance, which was super fun. Arden Cafe was as cute as it could be. We stopped there after arriving from the airport and were pleasantly surprised to find a buffet. Although we weren't very hungry, we decided we would come back to try it. Instead, we opted for catfish and fries, and it was quite good. Overall v felt like I was on an island vacation. The service was nice, but I wish we could have ordered a cocktail with our meal; the only option for an adult beverage was with the buffet. I would definitely return to this place again. I came here on a Sunday evening for an event and i definitely enjoyed the atmosphere. The decor is very beautiful. It's a great place to for sure get wonderful photo ops. I love how they had live music in there. While there it did take them a while to get my food out which I believe was due to the event. The server I had was nice and she explained everything. The food was reasonably priced and it was delicious despite my wait for it. They were only selling mocktails which was fine with me. I really enjoyed the mocktail I got. It was delicious. It was a Sunday that I went so I was able to park on the street for free but if you do not find street parking the mall parking is right across the street. I will definitely go back to this place and for sure recommend you to check it out. read more

Stopped by Arden Indy for drinks on a Thursday night, and while it wasn't super busy, the vibe was still cool and elevated--perfect for a chill evening out. From the moment we arrived, the experience felt exclusive. A note for anyone planning to visit: reservations are absolutely required, even on a quiet night. We saw a couple behind us get turned away despite the fact that there were plenty of open tables, so plan ahead! The guy at the doorway was incredibly welcoming and gave me a few great drink recommendations, which set a positive tone right away. I ended up ordering two different cocktails during my visit. While I can't recall the name of one of them, the Arden Sexy was definitely the star of the night--balanced, flavorful, and memorable enough that I'd come back just for that. We didn't order food since we'd already eaten, but the menu looked intriguing enough to try next time. Our server was decent, though not particularly engaging. The attentive welcome at the door kind of outshined the service at the table, but it wasn't a dealbreaker. Overall, I'd say this is a solid spot for a classy drink, and I'm looking forward to giving their food menu a shot on a future visit. The room was beautiful, the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was ok. They offered a buffet without allergy information and I could not eat most of it. The egg casserole was very good. They served a grapefruit mimosa that was beautiful and delicious. They played great music but at such a volume; my group left as soon as we could. Beyond being unable to converse with each other, we were physically uncomfortable. A treat experience with girlfriends needs to include the ability to communicate with them... this was not that. After attending the event this weekend I have to say that I was extremely disappointed. First the event was advertised 2pm-4pm and imagine my surprise when I had to stand out in the heat with doors locked until almost 15 mins past 2 and then upon entering the restaurant it was unbearably hot. I went to the restroom upon entry and it was unkept. No paper towels, overflowing trash and unclean floors. This should have been looked over before the new set of guests arrived.  It was advertised a mimosa unlimited buffet event and they did not provide the mimosas. Even though I personally spoke and talked about the availability of ordering more or even a bottle of champagne with the owner, Romeo before the event. I was assured this would not be an issue and it most definitely was. The first mimosa barely had champagne in it and the second was complete juice/grenadine. When asked at the restaurant about the issue of the mimosas we were told they "ran out" of champagne and there was a liquor store in walking distance. (No words) Although the food was tasty they also failed to provide and unlimited experience advertised. We were one of the 1st tables to get food and almost everything was gone. Including the waffles which were replaced with frozen eggos. There was a lack of variety and abundance for your guests which was really disappointing. They also started persuading guests to start exiting at 3:45 even though we had to enter the experience late.  Although this restaurant provided a wonderful esthetic they really think about what they are advertising and holding that commitment to the customers. Unfortunately, I read bad reviews circling around social media and they stand to be true. The lack of preparedness for the event showed. read more

This spot really has potential but in its current state, it's missing the mark. We dined in for Sunday brunch and we were seated very quickly, near the DJ who was great by the way. However, it was unclear of who our server was and we didn't get a lay of the land which would've been helpful given it's a new establishment. After a few minutes, we were told we could go up to the buffet line to get food. The first thing I noticed were the aluminum pans. It felt similar to a school lunch line, rationed portions and the presentation was not great although the food had a decent taste but nothing spectacular. The restaurant decor was bright and vibrant but the table and chairs weren't the best quality. The mimosas were served in plastic cups, we didn't drink them and opted to go with coffee which came out cold. I think there are some best practices and restaurant 101 tips that can be implemented to take this spot to the next level. Again, the potential is there it's just yet to be discovered. read more

Came here for a girls night on a Saturday night. We were so excited to try this place and was instantly disappointed. So you have to go online and choose your experience/ day you would like to attend. The price range from $15-$20. You are literally paying for the decor and music. As we were seated we were told it was half of Mocktails due to not having their liquor license as of yet. Unfortunately this is not noted on the website so we were not prepared. That was the initial let down. Unfortunately if you're not with a party you will be seated close to the door or crammed in the middle of the floor which was uncomfortable. The food was just okay. I had the catfish ,asparagus, and rice. The rice was steaming hot and the other food was room temperature. My guess is it was microwaved. The fish was okay but kinda fishy. My friend had chicken with mashed potatoes. Unfortunately she had to send it back because it was cold. It came back within 5 minutes, so I'm sure that was microwaved as well. I tried it and it needed salt and pepper. The mocktails were pretty but tasted like pineapple juice. Mocktails are $10 but were $5 Saturday night. The music was great. The decor and appeal is beautiful. So if you want to take good pictures and hear live music this is the place to go. For food and drinks I would not recommend. read more

But the ambiance was nice, great for photos or a bachelorette party. Went during cafe hours on a Friday afternoon. I ordered from the brunch menu. It was only my table of two and a group of three girls. There seemed to be two servers. Our server was super pleasant and kind but overall, service was slow. It took about 45 minutes just to get lattes from the espresso machine. Again, we were basically the only ones there...I ordered the breakfast platter and my friend ordered chicken salad on a croissant. Both of our orders were wrong. You would think being the only customers you would pay attention. Even our server should have noticed this due to only waiting on us. My eggs came out scrambled rather than over medium. They had so much pepper which made it inedible. The bread this was on was not good either. The fried potatoes and fruit were great, however. The lattes are served in really cute purse cups. This place is mostly for the cute girly insta vibes but that's it. I might return for music one day but would highly recommend against the cafe. read more

First things first: this place was gorgeous and everyone was extremely friendly that we spoke to. The reason I am giving it a 3 star is because I feel like it was not what was described online/ social media. We paid 35$ a person for the Saturday brunch event and picked the 12pm spot.We make it in and sit down. Our waitress was super sweet but we had someone who was pregnant and can't drink alcohol so the brunch came with 2 mimosas. We asked if they could serve her N/a one. She came back but it did have alcohol in it. Then she disappeared and we didn't see her for another 30 minutes. We wernt served waters or told how this worked, because it was buffet style. So we go to serve ourselves but were told we needed to wait for our table to be called on. Ok no problem. Our waitress finally comes back and we ask for waters and coffee and our other friend asks for a different type of cocktail she saw online she wanted to try - but they are not serving coffee or cocktails during this event. We were surprised by that because online everything looks beautiful and they had coffees and cocktails listed. We were not able to get to the buffet for food until 1pm so that was an hour of us sitting there - starving. We get to the buffet and it was small - the food was good though and everything was hot except for the Mac and cheese. Like I said this was the Saturday brunch experience so we were disappointed that we had to wait that long for buffet style food and wernt able to receive any other type of drink. We wish the waitress would have gotten our pregnant friend a N/A cocktail but she was busy so I understand the wait for the waters and accidents happen. It is beautiful inside but they are missing the mark in several ways. The food was ok but nothing to write home about. I hated going out for an elegant brunch but being served mimosas in plastic cups--the only way that is acceptable is on a pool deck. Additionally, none of the mimosas we had were cold and not surprisingly quite weak. Lastly, I think a DJ playing quite loud is appropriate for a night for drinks in a lounge, but it was not what I wanted for Saturday brunch--I want to be able to talk with friends and we couldn't hear a thing. Ok ARDEN INDY I don't like to go to social media with these types of things, but at this point, I have given you guys more than enough time to refund me for an event that you canceled due to a Watermain break. So here's the story me and all my bridesmaids booked our tickets in June $35 a ticket. One of my bridesmaids receive notification on the day of literally hours before we were supposed to be there that they had a water main break the day prior and that all events for the weekend is canceled. This was a very big weekend as it was black expo, WNBA tournament, bachelorette party, and wedding the following day. Once my bridesmaid told me about this notification she received, and again there were five of us and none of us received a notification. I reached back out via text and I was advised the event was canceled that we will be refunded. They sent screenshots saying that the refund was submitted. I paid via cash app (big mistake) and I still have not gotten my refund. I've been in contact with two individuals via text and email and was told two days ago that if the funds were not in my cash app that they would Zelle or Apple pay it to me. So when I reach back out to let them know that I still have not gotten my refund I'm now not getting a response. I paid over $140 for these tickets because I purchased four tickets at this point Arden Indy count your days because I've already disputed the transaction with cash app and now I have to wait an additional 45 days for this dispute to go through. you just lost what could've been potentially five reoccurring customers. read more

I gave 3 stars because you guys have potential but you just need a lot of work to do to keep up with the competition in Downtown Indianapolis Restaurants. The place is beautiful but the advertising is misleading, if you are going for the vibe when they have an event going on, then go but if you want to eat it is not the place I would recommend. This place is cute and definitely gives the vibe of an upscale place but then you try the food and you think you are eating from the Holiday Express breakfast buffet. I took my daughter here since I knew she would love the scenery. We were seated and provided a menu. Looking at the menu, there wasn't a big selection, but even the selections that were on the menu were not even available, the waitress kept saying, "I'm sorry we don't have that either." As for drinks, my daughter wanted a Boba Tea and asked for specific ones and they were told they don't have the stuff to make that one then asked for two other ones and they said they also didn't have the stuff to make those specific ones, so she settled with the white peach with Strawberry Boba which she stated it tasted watered down so she didn't even drink it. They have a Mimosa menu but when I asked for it to pick my mimosa the waitress said well we are out of mimosa flavors and all we have is orange with grenadine. All in all, your restaurant's ambience and decor is lovely but unless you address the food quality concerns, it's going to be very difficult to retain customers and build a positive reputation especially with your location being in the heart of downtown where you already have to compete with other fine dining restaurant options around you. read more

This place needs to be more specific on the dress code, and not just say "cocktail attire". If there is something you don't want someone wearing, MAKE IT KNOWN! My friend wasn't able to get in because he had on a plain black undershirt...not to mention he had on a collared button down. Doesn't make sense at all.
