Nice local tavern with comfortable seating. There is a pool table and some entertainment as well. The bathrooms are kept clean and very spacious to accommodate for accessibility. They have a nice variety of draft and can products. Our server was very friendly and accommodating to my request of extra sauce for my southwest eggrolls. The mango habanero sauce they come with is tasty and has spice the way I like, but I felt the flavor of the eggroll paired better with ranch. I was really shocked to see the Columbia restaurant salad on their menu, they do add chick peas to it but it was tasty. We came in with a larger party tonight, and everything was phenomenal! My husband and I shared the chori-fries -- crispy fries loaded with chorizo, queso, and pico -- absolutely delicious. I ordered the bruschetta chicken sandwich, and my husband went with the pulled pork mac; both were full of flavor and perfectly cooked. My grilled chicken was especially tender and juicy! We were told we'd have one server, but it seemed like she handled most of the work on her own, so it was surprising to hear she'd be splitting the tip. She definitely went above and beyond. The only small downside was the trivia announcer -- a bit on the loud, obnoxious side if you didn't realize it was trivia night -- but overall, the vibes and food were great. We were looking for someplace to go later in the evening, with a still-open kitchen, craft cocktails, and no live music. That's kind of hard to find in the Castleton area on a Friday evening, but we headed to nearby Nora and landed at Taylor's and had a great time. The only downside is it was very noisy that evening, but we were also seated next to a large group at a long table, so that could've had something to do with it. It was still better than trying to talk over live music, which we deliberately avoided. Neither of us was super hungry, so my husband had the pretzel sticks, and I had the Choriqueso, a mixture of queso dip with chorizo, and tortilla chips to dip in it. Both were great. I love a restaurant that has a Manhattan on its standard cocktail menu, which Taylors does, so I was thrilled. My husband had a red ale, which he said was also very good. Our waitress, Corinne, was definitely a big part of the equation. She was fabulous. I asked her for a recommendation for what to eat, and she didn't disappoint. But I also have a couple more things I want to try the next time we're back! We are looking forward to it already! read more

Quite surprised by the interior of Taylor's pub. I really figured it was a dive bar. I liked the dark wood. We got a booth and ordered cheese curds, burger sliders and a small meat pizza. The cheese curds were good and I liked the spicy ranch they were served with. Husband got the burger sliders and he said they were good. I didn't get an offer to try them. I ordered the small meat pizza. I like the crust. The cheese or something had a smoky taste I didn't love but could get past. But it really needed to be in the oven longer. The top and bottom were hot but the middle was just warm. Might try something else at some point. Service was good. It is the type of place where folks are comfortable dropping the f-bomb in conversation. I heard it in at least three different conversations going on close by us. It is over 21. TouchTunes said they had a player but when I played a song I never heard it, even though it said on my phone the song was playing. I only tried one song as not to waste my tokens. read more

Always a great and casual experience at Taylor's Pub in Nora. This is our local watering hole and we can always count on delicious food, a chill atmosphere and great service! And one of the local places you can eat late, which is usually our situation! With plenty of TVs always tuned to sports, usually some fun music playing if not a game, the ambience is always chill without being overly loud and crazy! There is also a large patio to hang and watch the game outside (when it's warm) and a game room with pool and darts and probably some others (though, we've never been in that part). The food is always very good, and there are some great specials throughout the week and weekends as well! My favorites are the weekend sliders for $8! read more

Taylor's gives off a neighborhood pub vibe, even though it's in a strip mall. This was our first visit, but won't be our last. We sat at the bar so we could see what was going on. The dining room was filled with the lunchtime business crowd. The bar is long and the place is clean, decorated with local sports decor. The menu offers bar food including steaks. They offer a ton of daily lunch specials with great pricing (under $10). My husband and I both had the steak lunch special which came with a salad and fries. The salad, steak and fries were good. The steak was cooked perfectly. What a treat! Our server, Amanda, was friendly and attentive. She checked on us and kept our drinks full. Food came out quickly. I met my realtor at Taylor's Pub at Nora for dinner one night, and was pleasantly surprised with the dinner. This was my first time at Taylor's Pub since living in Nora, and it is a very nice local neighborhood pub. The ambiance give off a old style beer tavern vibe with a full bar and nice wood paneling and tables, so it definitely makes you feel like you are at home with friendly people. Our server was very nice and professional and took good care of us. Tuesday night was $5 Draft night apparently, so that made my realtor and me very happy. The food was Ok and decent for neighborhood pub. I ordered the buffalo chicken salad because I wanted something healthy, and I was impressed with the salad. It was a nice huge portion for an entree salad and very tasty. The buffalo chicken was cooked just right, and the apple cider vinaigrette I substituted for the ranch dressing was excellent and made the salad taste even better. It was a wonderful salad for the price and Iiked it very much. My realtor liked his sandwich and tater tots, so he was happy as well. For my first time at Taylor's Pub, I thought it was very nice and a great hangout place for a beer and socializing with friends. Since this has been around for quite a long time, I could tell it was very rundown and old, but it did have a nice vibe to it like I said before. I do think Taylor's Pub could use a renovation to make it more up to date and more appealing, but since it is a neighborhood pub, I think it is fine the way it is now. People seem to like it and are very happy with the pub, so why change it? I did like Taylor's Pub at Nora and I hope to keep coming back here time and time again. read more

My first experience here was not good. We had a racist waitress and we could not be waited on. We talked to the manager and she gave us a gift card to come in and try again. The food was OK. I did come back a second time and we ate inside with another friend; that waitress wasn't there. It is definitely pub food friendly. We just had a drink and some fries. It was a pleasant area inside. Talk about judging a book by its cover. I had always though Taylor's Pub was a dive, but it's not. But it looks like it is from the outside! Once you step inside, you'll see that it's a nice restaurant and bar, and a place to watch sports on their multiple TVs -- or not, if you're like me. I visited Taylor's Pub on a mission: to taste the chorizo quesadilla. I have a friend who recommended it, and since I love chorizo anything, I needed to eat it. My friend was right in recommending it. The chorizo quesadilla is amazing. It's layers of cheese, grilled mushrooms and onions, and wonderfully greasy chorizo between a tortilla. It comes with a side of sour cream and salsa, as well as jalapeños and a little salad. If you get the quesadilla and you like heat, ask for the inferno sauce, is what my friend told me after the fact. (I didn't know this when I ordered, so I got no inferno sauce.) The ambiance here is very mellow: it's a place you can watch your team play and cuss and drink beer and eat some good bar food. But it's also nice and clean, with friendly and efficient servers. Met friends at Total wine and hit this place for dinner after and let me tell you it was delicious! We all said we had to meet there again soon. We sat at the bar as the place was pretty busy which now I know why. There were 4 of us in total and we ordered 2 chicken ranch wraps the dunked Cuban and the tenderloin app. Everyone was so happy with their decisions. I did the mango habanero chicken wrap and boy did it have some heat but it was so good. The dunked Cuban was also amazing!! We subbed out the pretzels for fries and they had a great seasoned flavor. It's seat yourself and pretty busy for dinner but they also have outdoor seating. There's a pool table room and pull tabs. Give this place a try if you are ever around that area. read more

I am a huge fan of Taylor's Pub in Nora. Consistently, the food and service are great. Recently, the staff went above and beyond. Before meeting a friend at Taylor's, I walked on the Monon and managed to trip and fall, scraping up my face, hands and knees. Margaret and her colleague were so kind, making an ice pack for my face. The staff they did have were often chatting with each other or regulars compromising service to great degree for several other tables. I'd been meaning to stop by Taylor's Pub for quite some time, but for a variety of reasons I simply don't get over to Nora as much as I used to. However, today, I wanted to grab lunch while also stopping at the nearby Total Wine and maybe even a quick Aldi stop (despite my well known distaste for Aldi). Taylor's Pub is practically the definitive neighborhood bar and grill. It's relatively small, but warm and inviting. There's an accessible parking spot in front of the entryway. There's an appropriate curb cut on the sidewalk to the side of the parking spot. The entryway is a two-sided glass doorway. There are two sets of doors. They are rather narrow and I needed to actually open both in order to enter by wheelchair. On the flip side, this showed me right away just how friendly everyone was here as a group of guys sitting near the doorway were quick to open the doors upon my entry and exit. Taylor's does have a small side patio, though it was raining today and that wasn't an option. While the tables seemed a tad close, only a handful of parties were present and it felt quite safe to be inside. You could tell they were actively cleaning and everyone I ran into was conscientious. I was impressed that everyone entering had a mask and even used it if they left their tables. We seemed to be naturally keeping six feet apart. I was wanting to have a beer and lunch. I'd heard the tenderloin was good, but I'd been craving pizza and Taylor's has an individual sized pizza option. As I recall, it was right about $8.95 with up to 3 toppings of your choice. I chose pepperoni and sausage. It's a thin crust pizza. They had a food menu but not a drink menu. They do have a board that informs of specials. I really prefer beer on draft in a restaurant. The server was able to tell me the options - they were a nice mix of national brands and some locals from Three Floyds and others. I ordered an Oberon Amber Ale. The entire meal came in at a bit over $17 - a tad high but not horribly unreasonable. I'll admit I wish they pushed drink prices as $7 for an Oberon draft seems a bit high. I know indie bars are going to be a bit higher, but I'd likely have ordered something else had I known the price. The pizza was quite good. It was cut into four slices and it was a terrific option for one person. It's a 7" pizza. The atmosphere here is super comfortable - there are various televisions around - I believe they were all playing sports. I also noticed it's a super respectful place. It's nice to see a place where females can come in and be present and not get hit on. Everyone seemed genuinely respectful here. The server, Maddie, was a delight. She was friendly, helpful, and explained things well (okay, maybe not the beer price...but, in her defense, I also didn't ask. Lesson learned). I really liked her and you could tell she'd built a working relationship with some of the customers. This is easily a place I'll return to whether it's for a beer or lunch or whatever. I'll be a bit more careful about pricing, but I prefer supporting local and this is a place that is comfortable, inviting, the brews are good, the food is good, and the food pricing is competitive. I'll definitely be back. I did not check out accessibility of the bathrooms. For the most part, accessibility was fine. There were quite a few tables easily accessible. The bar itself would be a bit challenging and I believe at least a couple of the wooden booths would be too high. However, there are quite a few seating options here. read more

Came here for quick bite to eat and drinks with daughter tonight. Lots of beer choices on tap which I love plus full bar. Menu was large with typical bar foods. Had some of the best carnitas nachos that were new to menu but need to stay for sure. Potato skins were up there for some of the best I've had in awhile. It was busy so service was bit slow but she was friendly. Smelled like smoke as walked in which was turn off but it is a bar. Inside was dark but played some good music. I will say that they've got a reasonably priced lunch menu, which I can't manage to find on their website. Quite a few options for around $10, with drink included. We had a hard time deciding what we wanted....lots of it sounded good. We got the clam chowder, a basket of their homemade potato chips, a sandwich (philly cheesesteak?), and their chicken bowl w/ rice, broccoli, chicken, and queso. We were told that people come in specifically for their clam chowder (it's in their soup of the day rotation), and it was pretty good. Only complaint was that it could have been thicker, but it had plenty of ingredients & I'd get it again. Homemade chips were excellent & worth getting as well. The sandwich & chicken bowl were ok. Not exciting, a bit plain, and definitely "American pub" fare. There was only one server, but she did a pretty decent job taking care of everyone on her own. I had to go up to the bar to get one of my refills, but it was a small area, so it was no big deal. Taylor's is everything you'd want from a local neighborhood watering hole. We recently moved from Broad Ripple to the Nora area and are delighted to have Taylor's as our option for: a delicious variety of bar food, after-dinner-on-the-way-home-night-caps, summer late night beer hangs on the patio, afternoon football Sunday beers, and Tuesday Trivia (hopefully reinstated soon). Don't be fooled by the plain exterior, Taylor's has a great food menu which is always promptly prepared, hot, and delicious. Any of the "signature" dishes is a good choice and I'm a huge fan of the build your own chicken sandwich, just because I love chicken sandwiches in general and theirs is crispy, juicy and served on a delicious soft bun with any condiments or toppings your stomach desires. Even though the menu looks to be typical pub fare, you can tell that the ingredients and preparation are high quality - no shortcuts here! They have a nice variety of draught beers, cocktails, and every-day drink specials for the budget-conscious. The staff has always been friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and accommodating. In warmer weather the small patio is a great option and is dog friendly too! During football, baseball, or basketball season, expect to see several games on multiple TVs that are well placed throughout, and since the dining area is on the smaller side, it's pretty hard not to have a good view of your game. read more
