I am writing this for my wife who called this dental establishment twice at different times and nobody answered. She left two voicemails and nobody bothered to call her back. So for communication they rate one star. About whether this is a good dentist, I guess we will never know since you can never reach them and they don't call you back. Horrbile and Brutal.The appointment 6/24 at Aspen Dental on Airport Rd. was an awful tramatic experience. And I am still hurting badly 3 weeks later and now have TMJ. The DA assistant was so rough he pulled the jaw muscle that caused this. I am now on medication for that. To tell you all that went wrong would take too long. The dental tech got very frustrated.and mad after 40 minutes of grinding on the temp crown he made when I still said it was still not right. He cemented it in even though it was nowhere near rightly fitting. He ground the temp while glued in my mouth without water or suction. Asked to see the Dr. She came in, used the blue paper test and ground some more after confirming that it was indeed hitting wrong. It was still not right. Dr. Cho left him alone and frustrated with me for far too long. I had to go to Urgent Care because it became infected. So a course of antibiotics. The Dr said they way the crown was put in would certainly cause it to get infected. The new Dentist said it was the worst temp she had ever seen. I now have TMD from the trauma to my jaw that was caused by Aspen Dental. Months of PT. The damage done by Aspen Dental maybe permanent. They are the worst dentist I have even been to. And I am old! Please save yourself a lot of pain and greif and DO NOT GO TO ASPEN DENTAL. read more

I wrote a lengthy review that seems not to be on here. I went in for an emergency. The xray machine wasn't working well, the doctor barely looked inside my mouth and gave me a script for antibiotics and said call if not better then set me up for cleaning in a month. When a problem persisted I called and the front office told the dentist who said she would look at it when I came in for the cleaning which was 3 WEEKS AWAY! She did not call me back. When I came for the cleaning the doctor was too busy to look at me until the hygienist insisted she look at the abcess STILL on my gum. The doctor rushed in, lifted my lip with an ungloved hand, took a quick glimpse and said " Send her to endo" and walked out. I've always cared for my teeth with regular exams. This was caused by a popcorn kernel in my gum. I have now waited so long that I am appointed to an endodontist in hopes of not loosing a tooth that has been exposed to an infected gum for over a month. read more

Went in for a check up to see what would need to be done about a tooth that was knocked clean out, and another that was dislodged. For an implant and crown they quoted me 10500 dollars, more than 8500 more than I was quoted at another office. Another thing, one of the practitioners made sure let me know more than a dozen times that my smile was ugly now and that they needed to fix it urgently. I have looking for a new dentist for my kids for a few months. My daughter ended up having a dental emergency and I was able to procure an appointment at the Arden location. Today was finally the day. I had already notified them she would need the tooth extracted. They assured me this would be done. Needless to say, it was not done. But they sure took their time writing up a lengthy bill! She has to miss school today and has to come back tomorrow? Goodness I am going to go broke just in covering gas. I made an appointment for a teeth cleaning. After I was there, they told me they would only do the exam today and would make an appointment to come back for cleaning. That should have been explained at the time of making appointment. Then told they couldn't make the appointment because dental hygenist wasn't there. No one ever called. I have called and left messages. No one called. I tried to make an appointment on line. No one called. You evidently know you have problems with the Arden location, based on reviews. BUYER BEWARE! I went to Aspen Dental 8/28/2023 in Franklin. I was excited about their options for new patients without insurance. Unfortunately I was disappointed and caused anxiety because Beth, the hygienist , tried to convince me that I had periodontal disease, my gums were infected and needed antibiotics along with other procedures. When I was checking out I was told my treatment plan was going to cost me over $4000.00 and snuck in a toothbrush for $135.00 without my knowledge!!! Thank goodness I decided to get a second opinion from another dentist in the area. Without showing him my treatment plan I found out that not only did Beth lie to me about my dental health but was trying to scam me and cost me lots of money! read more

When the day came they had to reschedule and so that day came and they only got one done out of 4 that needed fillings. Apparently they couldn't do them all since they were low staff. So they rescheduled again for the 3rd time and this time they didn't send me any confirmation like they did a day before. So now I'm just so done with them and trying to get my money back for what they didn't finish. But I can't even get my money back cause apparently their system is down and don't have my info, and it's been a month and no answer. This is by far the worst dental experience I've had. Left several voicemails with no return call. Finally, someone answered the phone. I needed to have a lost crown replaced. Even though I had all the initial exam & xrays done the day before in another office, they said they'd have to do it all over again & would not trust the other office even though that office would send them over. I was looking for an earlier date than the office could set. I would have to pay for the exam again since the insurance company had just paid for the one yesterday. Run far and run fast. This establishment has the worst service. The office is dysfunctional in that they don't answer the phone, return calls, and have scheduling issues. I had implants and a full set of dentures. My first set of dentures was handed to me in a plastic sandwich bag. I took them from the Hendersonville office and went to Arden for the surgery. They drilled holes for the implants and popped in my mouth, and sent me home. I went back several times for adjustments, but they never did fit right. I let it go, thinking when I get the permanent set, it would be better. The new set fits better but still needs some adjustments. The technicians are very pleasant but new to the implants. They never scheduled post ops, so I ended up with one visit from the surgeon. The dentist pulled one of the implants for whatever reason. It was a good implant, and nobody ever explained why it was pulled in the first place. I paid $26,000 for the service of 6 implants. The refunded $2,179. for the removal of the implant. Roughly that adds up to $12,000. so I paid $14,000 for dentures and adjustments. I don't believe this to be true. To top it off, I overpaid $2,000. and I would have never known except one of the girls in the back. She gave me a copy of my account, and I asked for a refund. Weeks have gone by with no refund, and now they are telling me it has to go to the insurance company so they get any refund they are due. My policy covers $1,000 for the year for a multitude of procedures. I'm not sure why they deserve a refund. According to Aspen Dental, it is the law that it goes to insurance first. I would have never known I overpaid because I never got a receipt for my account. After going round and round with the office manager, I requested to speak to her boss. She gave me her name but said they couldn't give out their phone number. I requested to send a note to be sent. It has been over a week, and I've heard nothing. I don't have any problem with the dentist or the assist staff. The problem I have is communication. Twice I have called the office to answer a simple question on billing costs and was put on hold for 20 minutes the first time and the call was dropped the second time. I tried to reach Regional Manager Alicia Hilton at (828)-820-8437, again leave a message. I called the next level up and the lady said that she would send an "urgent" email, the call was returned several hours later when I wasn't home. It was a simple question that would have taken 30 seconds to answer on insurance coverage. The front office/billing service is awful. I told the lady who sent the email as much, she got no respect either. It's a shame, I was satisfied with the work. Luckily this is America, not the Soviet Union or China yet and there are plenty of alternative dentists. read more

I have been going to the dentist since about 1963. (I am currently 66) This Arden office location for Aspen Dental is the worst in my memory. In the summer of 2022, I had a chip on one of my teeth fixed. it was fine until it broke in early 2023. I made an appointment and went back to have it repaired. The dentist did so and all was well until it broke again approximately 3 weeks later. When I tried to make another appointment I could never talk to a receptionist and could only leave voicemails. I was told on the recordings that someone would get back to me in 24 hours. No one ever did. after waiting a week I chose to go directly into their office. I was told they could no longer fix the chip (their repair) and that I would have to get a filling. I put down my foot and said I did not want a filling; I wanted the tooth repaired. They finally relented and said I would have to pay $91.00. I gave into that just because I wanted the damn tooth fixed. I then made another appointment. Yesterday I received a call from them saying the doctor who would perform the task would not be available this morning. (the day of the most recent appointment.) I was told that if I wanted the tooth fixed a substitute dentist would need to do it and would that be okay? I said yes. This morning I walked into the dentist office and was told that my appointment was cancelled and had I received their call. I checked and did see that they had called me at 9 AM while I was in the shower. Therefore I missed it. At the same time I had received a text message (which I showed them) that said they were "excited to see me for my upcoming appointment." I had also received that message this morning. When I told them their office had called me the night before and a new dentist had been scheduled, they said they had no record of it. I was told it must have come from the Asheville office. i made another appointment for later this month. Maybe they will follow through and maybe they won't. I am still awaiting a call-back from the Asheville office as to why they called me last evening about the replacement dentist. The receptionist at their location agreed they had called me and they will investigate. So, as you can see I am not crazy about this Arden Aspen office. I have received other dentistry through them and they have been fine but now I definitely am starting to look for someone new. In addition, the inner workings of the practice are noisy and chaotic. Radios blaring and dental assistants running around where a patient does not get much privacy. I've nothing against their staff; it's just the poor way the office is often managed. There must be better dentists. I moved here, didn't know anyone and chose them because of their proximity. It was a mistake. if anyone can suggest an alternative, I would appreciate it. read more

Never answer the phone. I paid in full but not by choice the clerk charged my credit card the full amount up front for everything that so now I feel I should go through with the work . I have been waiting over an hour for my appointment as I always do . The dentist and surgeon are great but the office is not run properly. After this work is done I will continue my regular check ups elsewhere this is a huge hassle to go through . The system is always down so you have to redo your paperwork every time you get here also. I can't understand how this business can survive. The dentistry may be acceptable but communication is absolutely terrible and service is even worse. I had a toothache and needed to have the toooth extracted. It took to the 4th visit to get that tooth removed. A partial was needed and eventually it was explained to me that I had a choice between 2 models. I asked what the price difference was between the two and was told that someone wold have to check with my insurance company to see what my co-payment would amount to. Someone was supposed to call me with that infomation so that i could make an informed selection. No one called; they never respond to voice mail messages. I finally got to talk to someone who seemed to know what I was talking about (this was several weeks later), and she gave me the information about the amount of my co-payment (I hope it was accurate, but I have my doubts.) and I told her what model I wanted. She said she'd take care of it and it would be about 2 weeks before it would be ready. Today, THREE weeks later, I called and the young lady who answered the phone, said they were waiting to hear from me what me choice was.... I told her I had done that 3 weeks ago! She said she would chedk the "cabinet" to see if it was there. She returned to the call and said they have no record of my having made a selection. I asked to talk to the practice manager and, of course, she was not in today. This is a follow up to my last review on 7/8/2020, so I go to my normal cleaning dentist ( every six months) the only reason I even went to Aspen Dental previously was because I wanted to ask about a partial, so when I went to my normal dentist for a cleaning ( last week) and told them what happened, and had my X- rays from Aspen Dental sent over to them, they were in complete ASTONISHMENT saying that I did not need a "deep gum scraping" in any areas of my gums, they even showed me on the X rays there was no need for that, so just like I knew but to have another professional tell me and show me just made me so much more disgusted!!!! and to top it off, aspen dental did not even due a good cleaning!!!! they were areas on the bottom front that were horrible!!! I've had a broken tooth for over a year in my mouth. Went and got evaluated and x-rays by aspen dental. They set me up with a line of credit to be able to get my procedure done and once I did that they never called or returned my calls to get my extractions done. But guess what they did send a bill for doing nothing. Were suppose to fix my front teeth (fill ins) but but made me wait over hour to be seen and I scheduled my appointment for them to rush and made my teeth look worst than they did before. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I've even tried schedule something again but some how they are always booked. Very frustrating. read more

I had great difficulty with this business establishment in August of 2022. After my initial evaluation they said I would be contacted. After a week, I got tired of waiting and made several calls. Calls were not returned. I stopped by during business hours and found the door locked. On my fifth call over four days, I spoke to a staff member who scheduled me for a few weeks away. I got an e-mail from the office manager complaining that she couldn't reach me by phone. I responded with an e-mail explaining the best ways to reach me. When I arrived for my appointment, I was told it had been canceled because they couldn't reach me. I was given appointments for extensive periodontal services which I have never needed before, including at a previous hygienist visit earlier this year. I was looking at an estimate of close to $5000 in charges for services they said I needed. I got uncomfortable with their services from this extended experience, read a bunch of negative reviews online, and decided not to go back. I called and e-mailed more than 24 hours in advance to cancel services. I indicated I would contest any charges. Giving this business one star was a necessity for me to write this review, so truth be known, I give them no stars. I had tried since December, (it is now late April of the following year), to set an appointment to have an impacted wisdom tooth removed. Email after painful email of my most recent doctor referral, and literally harassing my current dentist for my current xrays, I had finally been mislead to believe ( for two and a half months) that my wisdom tooth was scheduled for removal On April 21st. That is until I received a call from their office manager, yesterday, on April 15, 6 days prior to my appointment, and she so calmly, told me that they had not received xrays, or a referral from me...shocked and surprised she acted as I began to go bat sh*t crazy. I told her that I had sorted all of this out months prior and that Aspen dental of arden had "guaranteed" me that I was good to have Dr. Goldberg remove my tooth on April 21st. Did I mention yet that I am experiencing pain? The manager was unempathetic, and was beside herself that I was not only upset...but "rude". Hmmmmm, she then found it appropriate to threaten me bu not providing treatment. I would not trust, and do not trust This outfit to administer proper, responsible care to ANYONE. I went to Aspen Dental for a partial upper plate on May 4, 2021and finally got my plate on October12. There were several fitting in between. I didn't mind the lengthy process because I figured they were being very professional and making sure it was fitting correctly. On January 9th, 2022 I had one tooth fall out of the plate. I took it back to them the next day to have it fixed and they wanted to charge me another $48 to fix it. When I questioned my having to pay for their inferior workmanship they insisted at first that I needed to pay and I insisted that I should not. They did stop asking for the money, but they moved my 4:15 appointment to the last appointment of the day. I even heard one woman come in and apologize for being 10 minutes late for her 4:30 appointment and was taken right in while I was still seating there waiting. I finally got in after everyone else was gone. the technician had to make a new impression of my mouth and, when she was finished, quickly ushered me out of the room and the building. When I got in my car I could see she never cleaned the impression compound off of my face. I feel this was a deliberate act to publicly embarrass me. Two weeks later I received my plate. One week after that another tooth fell off of the plate, which they quickly repaired at no cost. This weekend I received a bill in the mail for the $48 for the first repair. No stars would be more apropo...they give you a treatment plan that they say is run through your insurance...they SAY the amount on a piece of paper is YOUR portion and a PRE AUTHORIZATION...and they don't DO the PRE AUTHORIZATION until almost a MONTH later....they are money hungry and greedy...they want $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and you cannot trust their word on ANYTHING. read more

The staff are awful, billing etiquette is even worse. They have a habit of overwhelming with no solid explanation, or undercharging with the same response. They bill patients prior to insurance finalizing claims and won't stop the patient billing process. After 3 months they put patients into collections, even if insurance hasn't paid yet. I had a 2nd opinion done and was told there was only 1 filling needed, not the 3 that aspen dental said I needed. We were also charged for a prescription mouthwash that if given a script and gotten at a pharmacy would have code $10 instead of the $70 we paid. When asked about it, the response was that they won't write the script because they wouldn't make any money from it. (Who cares about thé patients ). I have already filed grievances with 2 insurance companies about them. I would not recommend anyone go there under any circumstance! read more

HORRIBLE-HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE-I went to Aspen Dental for a cleaning appointment at 5:15 yesterday. I was made to wait 15 minutes before I was taken back. Once I was taken back I was given X-Rays in 2 different rooms then taken to a third room for an exam. After the exam I was left in that room for 20 minutes and had to ask a passerby when I would be seen by the Hygienist? She told me "we are short staffed and running late-she will be with you shortly" 10 minutes later the Dental Hygienist came in and did an "gum & something I never heard of exam" which took another 15 minutes. She told me I had bone loss in my mouth. I am 53 years old so ok..seems normal. She then tells me I am finishing up another patient and will be with you shortly. I am then escorted to another sitting room where I wait for 15 minutes while the staff turns off all the lights in unused rooms because now its over an hour past their closing time-a front desk clerk tells me-sorry for the wait-the "Treatment Plan Coordinator" will be with you shortly. 5 minutes later I am escorted to ANOTHER room where this "Treatment Plan Coordinator" proceeds to tell me I need 3 cavities filled, fluoride treatment & a teeth cleaning will cost me over $1,000.00. ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS!! I told her I was there for a teeth cleaning-nothing else. She said ok-that will be $94.00-when would you like to schedule that? I said-what? That's why I am here now-I am not getting my teeth cleaned this evening? She said No you are not. I said never mind and she literally showed me the door. SO-I HAVE HAD ONE CAVITY IN MY LIFE -NO DENTAL PROBLEMS EVER! I have no pain in any way-there is no way I have acquired 3 cavities in a year. Also-The level of un-professionalism I experienced last night is a joke. Aspen Dental literally stole 2 hours of my life-I was there for 2 hours and NEVER got the teeth cleaning I made the appointment for and I truly feel it's because they were late and wanted to go home and they knew I wasn't falling for their pricing scheme. This place is a SCAM -they are looking to cost you a lot of money. I highly suggest you go to a real dentist office for your dental needs.
