My hair was done well using a curling iron set for lasting volume. Unfortunately, the makeup application was subpar--uneven eyeshadow blending and a messy red lip that had to be cleaned up. The most disappointing part was how rushed the final moments felt once her next client arrived. The stylist shifted from my incomplete makeup to pulling out my hair pins hastily. I was also told that gel eyeliner was not option due to sanitary practices, however this has not been an issue at other establishments. My stylist acknowledged we were behind schedule due to my full glam request-- yet the booking system didn't allow for that distinction, only offering a single makeup service option. I spent $155, then had to go buy a lipstick that suited my look and redo parts of the makeup myself, which ultimately brought my look together. My hair also didn't hold up well. I rely on these appointments to feel confident and relaxed before big events, but this one fell short. A friend booked a blowout around the same time and was also unhappy with the lack of volume. I'm sharing this to help Blo improve and to inform others booking in the future.

There was no greeting, that was confusing for me but I chalked it up to be maybe a language barrier or she's overworked. So I went to the back by the wash bowls and Christina began washing my hair, in the beginning it was enjoyable. But then Christina started being rough with my hair and took the wide tooth comb( after conditioning ) basically ripping at the ends of my hair. Granit I probably needed a trim but she was literally combing my hair from the root to the ends. You should know as a stylist you're supposed to comb out curly hair from the bottom to the top. I don't speak fluent Spanish but she said in a smug way " oh it's long too " to the other lady by the wash bowls. It kind of felt like a weird hateful spirit from a complete stranger. I began to get tense and she maybe noticed. When I got up from the bowl I looked back at the wide tooth comb at it definitely had a little glob of my hair in it. That was very upsetting especially bc i detangled my 3b curly hair the night before, it was NOT KNOTTED for her to be ripping my hair like that. I sat in Christina chair for the rollers, she started ripping at my hair some more while parting with the rat tail comb and by the time she was done and I got up to go to the dryer , i once again looked back and seen another glob of my hair on the floor. She seemed weirdly pleased with herself. Then had the nerve to tell me " welcome to Jenny's salon" looking all skinny and evil. I was upset but just wanted to get my hair done. I kind of grew up in a salon so I take good care of my hair and know how to fix almost anything so there's confidence in that. I sat under the dryer for what seemed to be almost an hour in hell. I had to take my head out because I was beginning to feel overheated from being pregnant. Most salons offer you a beverage but not here. Swallow your spit, just like you're in hell. I was finally guided to go sit in Jenny's chair. I was recommended to go to Jenny by a family friend and their hair was always nice. But Jenny was no better than Christina. Jenny started using the round brush from the root of my hair to the bottom ripping more out. My head started to hurt. To add injury to insult she kept spraying products right onto my face not even attempting to use her hand as a shield. I wanted to have small talk and mention I was pregnant please stop with the spraying in my face but I felt like at that point I was at the mercy of my worst enemy doing my hair. I wanted it to be over and just have nice hair on my birthday. She passed the flat on my already loose curly hair so many times I already assumed there would be heat damage. Jenny also kept passing the flat iron on my baby hairs as if she wanted to burn my face. She made a joke in Spanish and imitated the " ah ah oww " thing as if she thought it'd be funny to actually burn my face, to Maria who was working some chairs over. I don't know these people from a can of paint. Imagine how it was to sit through all of this. I assume they want more Hispanic women as customers and treat other women however they feel, after reading so many other reviews on this salon from black women. That's sad because each client is a privilege to make money and you never know who you're servicing. What if I was an undercover professional reviewer? Is being ugly worth losing your salon? Jenny was also rough with guiding my head in directions, I'm not a manican head doll. A client walking into the salon ( towards end of my service ) first statement was " oooh I CAN SMELL THE BURN" wow lol I was charged $90 by Jenny and she looked at me weird as if I was supposed to be taken aback. I think i was overcharged after reading other reviews too. I did get a deep condition but they literally use silicone mix - nothing special. But whatever.
