As soon as arriving at Little America hotel, there are signs all around to check in for North Pole experience. All the Elfs were super helpful. Check in was easy. But there were so many kids and adults walking around the place. Our ride was at 12.30 and we lined up inside at 12.15. We enter the trolley and the ride is like 10-15 minutes, you can't see through the windows, but there is a TV on and Elf is talking all the time. When we got there, everything was unbelievable. In the first room we meet elves and huge room with compas and all the Christmas decorations. Right after that kids lined up at the door and we enter another room where they got teddy bears and clothes and they need to put the clothes on a bear. This was interactive and very fun experience kids really enjoyed. Next room was the room with the belt where gifts are loaded on the belt. They had music and bubbles coming from the ceiling which was amazing. Next room was like big dining room where all the kids sat down (some adults too?!) And had cinnamon rolls and hot cocoa. Can't remember what was the next room, but very late room was with Santa. They would take pictures with us and Santa. Santa was the coolest guy ever, he talked to us and kids and made jokes. Kids were laughing all the time. He would say silly words so kids would laugh (snicker doodle, fart....) I didn't feel rushed or something. Truly great experience. And plus kids get the black teddy bear with NPX outfit. After Santa's room we exit out to outside area and waited for the trolley to bring us back to the hotel. Amazing and so blessed that I was part of it. Forget to mention room where they were able to write letter to Santa.

We enjoyed the indoor and outdoor exhibits, especially sun viewing through telescope, walking the scaled galaxy walk and the dome telescope where Pluto was discovered. We came back at night for stargazing . Such a wonderful experience. It gets cold so wear jackets and layers at night. They had glow in dark paths to illuminate walking. And sky viewing was magical!! There were multiple telescopes through which we saw stars, galaxies, star clusters. Even the observatory helpers had a laser pointer to point out constellations. All the stars for this observatory! Must visit while in Arizona to learn about our universe

**July 2026: Tuesday Afternoon**…read more Growing up, Pluto was still considered a planet, so when I found out the observatory where it was discovered is in Flagstaff, I knew I had to include Lowell Observatory on my itinerary. During the summer, tickets were $43 for adults, $38 for seniors (55+), and $28 for children (6-17), with hours from 1 PM to 11 PM (which makes sense with the later sunsets). My friend and I arrived around 2 PM and were able to jump right into a mix of lectures and guided tours. One of the highlights was being led to the very telescope where Clyde Tombaugh discovered Pluto. It was such a surreal, full-circle moment. Our guide also shared the history of Percival Lowell and walked us through the grounds, which added a lot of depth and context to the visit. I also appreciated how interactive the experience was. There are telescopes available for guests to use during both the day and night, and your admission includes a clip-on badge that allows you to leave and return later in the evening. We had planned to come back after dinner to try and catch a view of a planet, but unfortunately it was a cloudly forecast so we were out of luck. Even without perfect viewing conditions, the experience was still incredibly worthwhile. It's such a great place to learn, enjoy the outdoors, and appreciate the curiosity and dedication of scientists and researchers. We ended up attending several talks and tours and learned a lot throughout the afternoon. We stayed from about 2 PM to 6 PM and even grabbed a grilled cheese sandwich at the café, which hit the spot. Overall, Lowell Observatory is a unique and educational stop that I'd definitely recommend adding to your Flagstaff itinerary--especially if you have any interest in space or astronomy.

This summer my husband and I attended 4 classical music concerts at Kitt Recital Hall: three in…read moreJune and one in September. This is a very well-designed recital hall. The acoustics are excellent. The stage is large. There are no pillars blocking anyone's view. This is a great place to hear a concert. There is an area near the entrance to the recital hall that accommodates people who need handicapped seating. All the seats in the recital hall are comfortable cushioned seats. The incline of the recital hall is fairly steep. This means that you are likely to have an unobstructed view even if a tall person sits in front of you. This also means that you need to be careful when moving to your seat, especially because the rows are spaced fairly close together. It is not easy to get past people who remain seated when you are trying to reach your seat. We usually sit either on the left aisle or right aisle; there is no center aisle. All the concerts we attended had unassigned seats. The lobby could use more seating. None of the lobby seating has backrests, although it is often possible to lean against the lobby wall. The parking is confusing. There is a paid parking garage across the street from the recital hall. We parked there once. The other times we parked in the surface parking lot for the music school. This lot is west of the recital hall. We attended concerts during the summer when the university was not in session. We went to at least one nighttime concert, when we figured classes were not in session. The signs said the surface parking lot was restricted to people with permits, but we never got a ticket. It is not easy for nonstudents like us senior Flagstaff summer visitors to find out about the concerts at Kitt Recital Hall. I don't recall whether I ever saw them advertised on www.flagstaff365.com. I found out about most of them by word of mouth. Tickets are purchased from a Northern Arizona University website. Next summer we will try to locate a NAU music school website, or an NAU events website. The concerts would be better attended if they received more publicity. The excellent June piano concerts were sparsely attended. We attended a September concert that was packed with recently returned students. We always bought our tickets online. There apparently is a box office, but I don't know its hours.

The theatre also has a bar, serving beer, wine, and cocktails; I was so happy to see tons of local Arizona beer on draft. And the theatres themselves had comfortable seating and nice screens. I refuse to pay for a sweat smelling theater. I couldn't even finish my popcorn it smelled so bad A room full of people and a A/C unit that's not working or set to a unrealistic temperature is a nightmare not a enjoyment.
