I'd like to begin by saying I initially chose this company because I like to support local businesses. I wanted to use this company other than a commercial Stanley Steemer, etc. When the van pulled into my driveway, the first thing out of the man's mouth was a complaint about how he didn't see the house number on my mailbox. He shouted to me, "The house next to yours is (#). You didn't even acknowledge that I drove by!" ...Well, hello to you too and I'm sorry you were totally oblivious to the big black numbers on my mailbox. I had two area rugs that needed cleaning. The men proceed to drag the hose through my kitchen without proper placement of corner protectors. There goes the paint off my baseboards.... One area rug had a table on it that needed to be moved. The two men failed to move the table and clean underneath the rug. How do I know this? Well, upon leaving my house the man explained that it takes approximately four hours for the carpet to dry (especially since it's wool). I ran my hand on the carpet under the table it was bone dry. I called and complained to a manager/supervisor and now he's explaining to me that the carpet dries in TEN MINUTES!!!! Well, happy birthday to me because apparently I was born yesterday. A wool 10x12 carpet drying in ten minutes!!! Imagine that. Last but not least a 20% redemption coupon was not honored. I called several days prior to setting up the appointment. I spoke to a woman who explained that if I spend $150 on services I will get 20% off services. So I reiterated back to her, "Since I'm getting two area rugs cleaned for a total cost of $150 (plus tax) the total cost after the 20% redemption code should be approximately $120, correct?" She answered, "Correct." Do not use this company. Complete rip off. Horrible experience. I will take my business elsewhere.

Upon arrival I specifically asked to make sure my finished basement was done as I didnt see an option upon booking and I was told sure no problem. Upon the job being done I was told the basement would be additional and wasnt cleaned as a result. Although obviously it was an oversight on my part I made sure to ask this when the cleaning person arrived and was told it would be done. I would have paid the additional funds but the cleaning person just left and said next time. Mind you they finished ahead of schedule and could have taken the time to do what was asked. What was done was great but the oversights and miscommunication will have me looking for a better service for my next cleaning.

Last week, I called Sears Carpet and Upholstery Care and made an appointment for today to have the carpet cleaned and deodorized. Phil and Jerry left about an hour ago. Those two are miracle workers! What a difference. First, they treated the carpet with something that removes pet odors, then they steamed the filth away. Now the carpet looks and smells like I never had bad tenants! If you live in Central New Jersey and need your carpets cleaned, call Sears Carpet and Upholstery Care and request Phil and Jerry. They're simply nice guys that are professional, friendly, and most importantly, they do a good job. Unlike certain other carpet cleaning businesses, (I'm talking to you, Stanley Steamer) these guys don't pester you to buy add-on services that you don't need. The job is done at a reasonable price and it takes less than an hour if you have a small 600 sq ft apartment like mine. I don't know where this company's "home base" is, but I'm assuming it's in Monmouth or Middlesex County. If anyone can provide more information about location, hours, and/or website, be my guest. Now to find someone to spackle and sand the walls and do a bit of touch up painting! (Suggestions welcome.) Of course they'll need to put a thick tarp over my freshly cleaned carpets!
