Someone at Megerian ruined my sheepskin rug, and never called to let me know that it was "finished" or anything. I tried to pick it up months later and they said it would be another week (before I knew it was ruined). When I finally went to get it, it had been sitting out in the open gathering dust, the dirtiest I have ever seen it. Glued to another piece of fabric by a sticky yellow "conditioner," torn and greyed with dust. I realized they never called because they ruined it. This was once my favorite thing I owned. I understand that mistakes happen... but for a 100 year old company that claims to clean tons of animal skin rugs (I called to make sure) - I was shocked that this could happen. They said that they would call me back about getting me a replacement but they haven't tried. Apparently the animal skin specialist wasn't there when it arrived... nonetheless unacceptable. Mergerian cleaned and repaired three carpets and they did excellent work. I have a Persian carpet from the 1930's that had water damage and a hole about 12 inches in diameter. Mergerian repaired it expertly. They also repaired the fringe on a Bokhara carpet, around 9X12 feet, and it looks like a new carpet. I bought it around 30 years ago. I was very pleased with the pick up and delivery. We had a small glitch about the delivery date, as the repair to the Persian took longer than expected, but we worked it out. I recommend this enterprise very highly and from now on, will only use Mergerian for carpet cleaning. You will be very happy with this firm. read more

They cannot clean a rug for their lives and forget about them getting back to you about when it's going to be returned because they can't do that either. I'm gonna sue these guys because they charge so much to clean a rug and then they bring it back journey because they can't figure out what they have in their inventory and what they do not The man who answers the phone doesn't know what he's talking about and then when you speak to the other guy he doesn't know what the other guy knows which is nothing. The guys who Deliver the rugs know that this company is a fraud and guess what call when they brought back a rug they brought it back THRRE TIMES and I thought it could not possibly be that they would bring back a rug that was not clean. Guess what: the rug was not clean and it smells the same and they had the nerve to charge me for individual stains. This company brought sales into my house when I trusted them to clean a rug it doesn't seem too much to ask given me for figure prices they charge for a few rugs. They washed them, removed stains, and did a lot of reweaving to repair moth damage They are excellent communicators, responding quickly and with detailed quotes breaking down the various kinds of work needed. They identified additional things to be done (fringe repair and remediation of faded color), which I wanted to leave till next time for budget reasons, and there was no pressure to do the work now. Megerian knows their stuff! I brought them a large yak wool rug I had purchased in Asia in the 1990s and then stored for 20+ years in a basement, and Megerian did a superb job restoring it. They shampooed and cleaned it, and then sewed a sleeve on the back so that it could be hung like a piece of art. Their pickup service made things easy. I opted to retrieve the cleaned rug myself, so I had the chance to check out their facility (which is pretty cool), but they would have gladly delivered the rug back to me. OMG! What can I say about this company, other than, don't ever rent a steam cleaner or hire a steam cleaning company for area rugs. These guys are amazing. They pick up and deliver, they hand wash, they restore, they can pretty much do anything to your area rug that will help you maintain it. I've had my area rugs cleaned by steam cleaning companies and I've always hated the fact that they leave and the carpet is still wet!!! If the carpet is wool and it's wet, it kinda smells like ass, so why did I have it steam cleaned?? And pay to have a stinky carpet??? Idk, but never again. Really terrific service. I spoke with Naomi over the phone and got some basic information and determined it made sense to drop my rugs off rather then wait for pick up. I am really glad I dropped my rugs off! Naomi and the whole team were so incredibly helpful and patient. One person helped me get my rugs in the door. Then Naomi came over. She explained the process. When I showed her how one rug was fraying she called over the rug "specialist." A terrific, knowledgeable, patient man. All three of them spent as much time as I needed going over the options. The specialist explained my options very clearly and even gave me a little tour of the blocking/stretching area. I could also see the room where the rugs were washed - a rug "car wash"! I'm really glad I chose Megerian. I am cleaning two Persian rugs and one Indian made rug. The rugs belonged to my parents. The rug specialist said the two Persians are 80-90 years old!
