Let me preface by saying that given the reviews in here and other socials, I came here somewhat reluctantly (it was a Mother's Day gift from my out of town daughter). However, my daughter is very picky (as am I) and I must say I have been very pleasantly surprised. Sit back/relax and enjoy the book I'm about to write. After spending 4 hrs at this place I do not understand the bad reviews. Like everything, there is some room for improvement, but honestly, at this point I'm just being extra picky so they could be truly flawless. Let's start with the drive/parking- in the DMV area this is the first question. I used my GPS and entered "the watergate hotel- had zero issues. They have valet service and the guys are super polite. Everyone keeps reminding you to get that validation for the discounted rate. $12 . Worth it. Old school doorman that actually opened doors and did the thing Sleek/modern interior design at hotel lobby- Concierge that gave clear directions and didn't seem like I was bothering him (you need to go to elevators and press B3 on the keypad BEFORE you get in the elevator). Polite/attentive/prompt receptionists at the Spa Minimalist but immaculate reception area The relaxing room chairs are so comfy I fell sleep! If they had issued me a blanket I would've been knocked out for the count! There is a cart w different types of tea/ infused water and snacks (they are nut based so if you have an allergy bring your own or ask) My services both included a glass of champagne at the end. I saw others with cold water bottles given to them. Either way, The entire area was immaculate clean. I was one of the first clients of the day but by the time my second service was coming it was almost standing room (that lasted a couple of mins only hence no stars were deducted). The relaxation room is unisex so keep that in mind if you're sensitive to that. I am not. I had two services with time to relax in between/before/after. My first was a facial with Anna. She came in on time- and explained ahead of time what was included and my options for additional services "if she thought I needed based on her evaluation" wow... I've had facials in many places/countries. She is THE BEST. I will be coming back and sending my husband. She is merciless tho. If you have never had a deep extraction, take an ibuprofen 20mins before and BREATHE... the pain is worth it. It's a mechanical extraction not manual. I may or may not have teared up. But my skin. Glass. FYI- I will be 50 in a couple of months and have never had procedures or Botox or any kind of fillers. Not against it. Just not my journey right now. After relaxing while sipping champagne I walked around and grabbed an apple at the gym. Went to the sauna/jacuzzi and pool. Then it was time for my massage. I had a signature massage and Yemi took great care of me. She explained what my service included (low to medium pressure) and what other services I could upgrade to (deep tissue/scalp treatment/foot scrub/hot stone/cbd oil) yup, I got them all. The thing to note: she used the stones all over my body and not just my back. The scalp treatment she recommends leaving it on for 24hrs before washing out so keep that in mind. Overall is a 10/10. Idk what experiences others had, but it certainly was not mine. Specially as I sit here sipping on champagne while writing this review because I couldn't wait for you guys to know! Insider tip: bring a bathing suit and your workout gear. Schedule your services in between using all the other amenities. Make a day of it. You won't regret it. Edited to add: if the spa had more ways to hang your stuff in your locker or a little shelf, that would be great. They also need trashcans INSIDE the toilet areas bc no female wants to walk out of the toilet with personal hygiene items in your hand. The trashcans outside the bathroom do need to be bigger too. If you're a curly hair girly. Bring your own diffuser as I didn't see any and I only saw one hairdryer so it might get complicated if it's busier. Small and easily fixable items for continued flawless service. read more

If you want a totally mediocre, overpriced and un-relaxing spa experience in an outdated, dirty and loud facility (spa pool shared by hotel guests with kids doing cannonballs) than look no further...I do not care for this spa at all and it's gone far downhill. I dislike it so much I have a gift-card I have been avoiding using and instead paying to go to other spas instead. Don't recommend-- will use giftcard soon and then will never return. Booked my mom a store day for this past Mother's Day and she had a great time. The staff were really nice and kind to me and my mom. My mom really enjoyed herself and the amenities. Upon leaving the spa, she put her bathing suit in the spin dryer but noticed it wasn't working. So she took her bathing suit and put it inside a bag provided. We later got home and a cockroach crawled out of her new Louis Vuitton bag smh imagine the shock and disgust! I didn't call the hotel but I left a review on their website it said someone would be in contact but never heard anything back it's been over a month. read more

Told the person to remove the stones twice telling them they did not ask for this service. They added the tip even after the complaint was made and we reached out to the Spa Manager and Excutive asst manager twice and never heard anything. Great Massage, Less than good experience surrounding the massages. The booking experience was very poor, no confirmation for the appointment when I booked online. Seemed glitchy. When trying to confirm booking by phone, difficult to connect with staff. When I did get in touch with staff, I felt like I was not important. Waited at front counter for several minutes for staff to show up. The overall vibe in the spa was very utilitarian and did not "pamper" - the relaxation room was loud due to the heavy use of tile. The steam room in my locker was closed with a "maintenance" note on it. The massage was terrific - both of our masseuses were very good and did great. The ambience was relaxing and the therapist,Miss Sherry was very nice and professional for her deep tissue massage with hot stone treatment. Total mess! I booked a massage appointment for 11am on Labor Day (which is a Monday). When I arrived there was a sign that said the spa was closed. I thought the sign might be a mistake, but there was no one at the front desk and no one to ask. The sign said the pool was open so I figured I would wait there in case the spa employees were running late. At 11:30 someone called me and asked when I would arrive and whether I wanted "the remainder" of my massage, since I would have to pay for it. I was so confused! I explained the sign and that I had been waiting for 45 minutes but the woman was adamant that it was my fault that I had "missed" my massage. She offered no apology and said the sign was always there "due to COVID" but that they were open and I should have been waiting in the lobby. I attempted to share the following with management but received multiple "sender blocked" emails in response. During our visit to Argentta Spa on Sunday, February 25, we were looking forward to a relaxing and rejuvenating "luxury" experience. This was a birthday excursion for my friend and I was very excited to curate an experience. However, I regret to inform you that our visit did not meet our expectations nor did it meet your promises as documented on your website. There were several aspects of our experience that fell short of the level of service I anticipated from your establishment. Firstly, the cleanliness and hygiene standards at the spa were not up to par. I noticed a lack of attention to detail in maintaining a clean and sanitary environment in the lounge and men's locker room, which is essential for a spa setting. Specifically, the floors were wet and sticky leading into the bathroom area and throughout it. This made us feel uncomfortable and compromised the overall experience. The locker room was so small that you could barely change or move around. Us and 3 other patrons had to jump over the benches and stand in wait to get get our things on such tight spaces. And because multiple lockers in the men's locker room were broken, it felt like a terrible game of musical chairs trying to move out of each other's way to find and secure an available and operating locker. The "lounge" was surprisingly underwhelming and felt more like a seating area in a gloomy clinic. The lounge chairs were placed so close together and had stains covering many of the chairs. And because the robes provided had tears and were so small, we felt very uncomfortable trying to sit due to the fear of exposing myself to other guests or staff. So we both sat at the edge of our seats the entire time. One would anticipate that this area would provide leisure and comfort for enjoyment and to decompress, yet in reality it felt cold, sterile, and cheap. The steam room was a major factor in my decision to patron the spa. Unfortunately, there was much confusion on whether it was broken. Beginning our spa experience, we were informed that the male steam room worked, but as we walked to utilize it, signage on its door and floor informed guest that it was out of service. Confused on what to believe, we opened the door to inspect only to discover exposed wire inside. This debacle further added to my frustration. Lastly, the therapists who provided our treatments seemed inexperienced. Their approach was lazy and rushed, and we did not feel that our needs and preferences were taken into consideration. As a result, we did not feel the relaxation and rejuvenation that I usually associate with a visit to a spa and instead, we found ourselves counting down the minutes for the massage to end. The session felt more like an expensive run or "lather" than a true massage. Spending $800 at this facility felt less like luxury and more like gambling at a poorly operated, rigged casino as I walked away with less money and even more tension in my neck-- the latter of which I had hoped the massage would have taken care of. The only positive is that the receptionist was very understanding and accommodating. She heard some of our concerns, expressed empathy, and provided a free day pass. While this gesture was thoughtful and appreciated, this experience was not worth the return. I believe it is important to provide feedback when experiences do not meet expectations, as it allows for improvements to be made. I went to Argentta this past weekend for a massage and facial. My experience was mixed. Pros: Massage and facial were both on point. The massage with Sahel was relaxing, and I really appreciate that he massages your scalp as well. The facial with Anna was very thorough. She performed a ton of extractions and really cleaned my skin and applied products that left it feeling smooth and supple and looking hydrated. She also gave good recommendations on how to maximize my existing skin care routine. Cons: - I arrived 20 minutes before my appointment time and there was no one at the front desk, only a sign instructing you to have a seat in the waiting area and someone will come out for you at your appointment time. Mind you this is not the relaxation area, just the lobby. It was only 4 minutes before my appt time when someone just passing through (not even the receptionist) finally walked by and noticed me there, surprised that I had not yet been helped. I was handed a robe and slippers and ushered to the changing room and told to come out on the other side once in my robe. Once I changed and came out the other door I realize that I could have been waiting in the relaxation room, in a comfy robe and slippers the entire time before my appointment, instead by then I was rushed an appt was starting a bit late. - The changing room was not kept tidy. I saw towels and robes strewn about. Empty bottled water and champagne glass left on the floor. Half of the lockers are non-functioning (as indicated by the colorful stickers on the broken ones). Plus when I came in after receiving my massage and facial there was a foul sewage smell throughout the changing room! Not cute. Not relaxing. Then the maintenance engineer that arrived to see about the issue were crass and unprofessional. Complaining and cursing about the long shift he'd been on and how tired he was. Messin up the ambiance. lol - The pool in the spa area is open to the entire hotel, seemingly without fee or reservation. So in what I thought would be a tranquil spa space was children splashing and playing in the heated pool, on the treadmill in the gym, and one woman even had the audacity to bring her young daughter into the co-ed sauna with her as well. That really seemed weird and inappropriate. I don't feel that an upscale spa should be open to children using the space as a playground. All in all, while the services were actually fine, I would not return because the cost is exorbitant to be in an unprofessionally run, unkempt, space with people's kids. read more

If you have never been to the watergate hotel, it's confusing where the entrance is. I had difficulty finding it and was late to my massage. The front desk attendant did not tell me that due or my late arrival, I would not receive my full 50 minute treatment. I received a rushed, awful lotion application (it was not a massage at all just put lotion on me and kicked me out). I emailed the manager expressing that I should not be charged full price if I did not receive full treatment. She refused. I would have much preferred being offered to reschedule. But I was not told this would happen and was not given the option to reschedule. Will try salamander spa next time. Hopefully their front desk attendants are fully transparent at the time of check in. Additionally I just learned that my guest was charged for her massage. I booked two massages, one for my friend for her birthday, and the front desk attendant charged my friend for her massage. So I had to venmo my friend her birthday gift, which is so tacky! As the primary booking guest who's email and card was on file, why did she not confirm with me where the charges should go ??? It's just so tacky. read more

Pros: The massages were great - my masseuse Sahel was great and gave me recommendations for future treatments. The receptionist was friendly and gave us a quick tour of the amenities. Cons: the locker rooms were a let down. It was rough around the edges. Finding a locker that worked took a few tries and the room had a sewer like smell to it. I decided to shower in the pool area bc I couldn't stand the smell. A few of the amenities were out of order - the men's steam room and jacuzzi. Overall an OK experience. read more

I came here with a Travelzoo voucher for a massage . Getting an appointment was fairly easy..I called the day before and was able to get an appointment for a massage in the last slot of the day. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming. After checking in, I was ushered to the changing room. I then was greeted by my masseuse. The amenities are all nice and clean. The massage room was dimly lit, with nice music and scents. The massage was great! My masseuse was very attentive to my needs. I then received a glass of champagne and took advantage of the spa areas, the sauna and steam rooms. Overall, I had a great experience with the massage and amenities. However, what was a bit surprising was that after my massage I received an email of my receipt and that my credit card was charged a 20% tip. As I was leaving there wasn't anyone at the front desk, so I had no way of addressing this charge with anyone. I'm assuming I was charged for the tip because the staff was leaving but the spa was still open. I wish I would've been asked at the time of check in about leaving a tip or being automatically charged. It was a bit shocking to be charged for the tip. read more

The worst spa experience. Beware - you may step on a cockroach or two and inhale mold particles. The staff is abrasive and unhelpful. The facilities smell of toilets and chlorine. We felt like cattle - there were not enough seats for us to even relax before our treatment. Most people had 3 people per lounger. We first had facials. The facialist mutilated my face during the extractions. It was so painful and even three days later I have scabs and irritation. The wet towels that they use to wipe your face smell of mold and chlorine. The overall experience was terrible. We then had massages. The massage was fine, but they kept trying to push extras on us. The massage oils that they used caused my skin to break out in a rash. Additionally, the staff was eating and chatting loudly outside the room. The facilities were disgusting. There was wet hair on the ground, the towels had clearly not been washed, and the robes were stained. We could not get out of there fast enough. To add insult to injury - we paid $500. I have been trying to contact anyone within the spa or The Watergate Hotel, but no one will call or email back. read more

Some highs and lows at Watergate's Argentta Spa. I came with my mom and my sisters for my mom's 60th birthday. We arrived early to enjoy the sauna, steam room, pool, and hot tub. We were just getting settled in the locker room when the manager came to talk to us. She said that one of her aestheticians had called in and they weren't going to be able to do my moms facial. This was the only treatment she was going to get, so obviously we didn't want her to be disappointed and miss out on her birthday. I ended up canceling my facial so she could have one, and of course I was happy to do that for my mom, but I was really surprised that they didn't have anybody else that could fill in. We were going to be there for several hours, I guess I figured they would've had more than two people available to work. At the time, the manager was very nice about it and apologetic, she said that they would make it up to us...that they would do extras in our services, give us unlimited champagne and some treats, and really help us enjoy our day. My mom definitely enjoyed her facial and the rest of us did enjoy our services. As far as making it up to us, they didn't quite do the job. My mom got some upgrades on her facial, and they gave us 10% off our services. But there was no further mention of the inconvenience after the manager initially spoke to us, my massage therapist had no idea what had happened. In fact, my massage therapist tried to upsell me on some back exfoliation scrubs. No one offered to get us any champagne or treats-- not a big deal, but don't offer something if you don't plan on delivering. Ultimately I was the one that missed out on getting a service I had booked months in advance, and my massage wasn't upgraded or special in anyway. At the prices the spa charges, I really expected pretty phenomenal service and I felt it was just OK. My massage was good but nothing outstanding. The facilities are very nice. The locker room and pool areas were clean, and as I understand it they just put in the high-pressure jets in the pool and the hot tub. I have used these at other spas and really enjoyed them here as well, so that was a nice touch. Overall I was underwhelmed with my experience and between the snafu and the high prices, I don't think I would recommend Argentta. I appreciate that they did something, but they definitely could have done better. read more

My husband and I booked a couple's massage to celebrate our anniversary. We had to call multiple times as you cannot book a couple's massage through the website and several voicemails went unanswered. We eventually booked a male and a female therapist. About two hours before our scheduled massage, we received a voicemail from the spa asking us to call back. We did and left a voicemail but no one returned our message. When we arrived at the spa, about 30 minutes before our scheduled appointment, we were told the female massage therapist had an emergency but there was a male therapist who could fill in. It didn't bother me and things happen, but if one were very particular about that, it would have been a deal breaker. When we arrived at the spa, there was no one at the desk. We waited, as signage instructed, for a few minutes until someone came to show us to the changing rooms. We were given robes and slippers and told about the facilities. The massage therapists were EXCELLENT - Sahal and Edward. We really enjoyed our massages and my husband was so relaxed that he fell asleep. Five stars for them! The massage room was lovely - and honestly, most of the time you are in there, your eyes are closed so I didn't look closely. But the rest of the facility feels worn and dated. The hot tub is nice enough and the pool water is heated to a comfortable temperature. The faucets that pour water in are rusty, though, and when you look up at the ceiling, the paint is peeling and there is water damage. The tiles look old and many are missing. The pool is open to the hotel guests and there are also pool memberships available for sale so there were families with young children in the pool and changing areas. Again, this doesn't bother us but if you are looking for a quiet spa experience, you aren't guaranteed it. The relaxation room is comfortable, with water, tea and chaises. It is a single area for males and females which was nice for us since we were there to celebrate an anniversary but again, if you are accustomed to separate relaxation areas, this isn't the place for you. There were a few snacks but no spare towels, blankets or magazines The women's changing room is also pretty dated. While there are slippers provided, there are no shower shoes so bring your own. The showers have shampoo, conditioner and body wash and there is a single bottle of lotion and one hair dryer in the dressing space - but that's it. Most spas at this price point that I have visited have a variety of toiletries available - Q-tips, razors, face wash and moisturizer, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, etc. There was none of that here. There is a swimsuit dryer and plastic bags for damp suits, so that's a nice touch. I did have ample clean towels and the water in the showers was hot. For the price, there are more updated and nicer spa facilities. I really did like the staff and I wish there was a nicer facility for them to work in. read more

Honestly, I've been struggling to write a review of my massage here because I'm pretty sure I fell asleep during it. But of course, that in and of itself should be a testament to how phenomenal it was. Here is where I tried my first hot stone massage, and it was utterly luxurious. The hot stones combined with the skilled grinding pressure on my tense muscles was perfection. Sorry if that description sounds overly sensual. Of course it's pricey here, but I highly recommend the hot stone massage, and this will probably be my new massage go-to place going forward. read more

I should have looked at the Yelp reviews before booking here. This was ABSOLUTELY the WORST massage I have ever had in my life. Don't go here. I booked a signature 80 minute massage. The masseuse immediately upsold me on a foot scrub and said she would give me a long foot massage with it and on some oil to soothe my muscles since I have been working out a lot. My massage was an hour and 10 minutes at most and that included what was supposed to be the foot scrub and massage. And in the hour and 10 minutes, she spent at minimum 10 minutes tickling or something like that each side of my hip?????????? 10 minutes each side. I could not figure out what she was doing and why. It was the strangest and most frustrating thing. So that left 50 minutes for the massage. There was no foot scrub or foot massage. She rubbed scrub on my legs and barely on my feet and then wiped it off with a towel. I actually went home and pumiced my feet that night because she did nothing. Then they have the nerve to add a 20% tip when they should have refunded me for the upsell and for the lost time. read more

This review is for Anna the Aesthetician. She gave me one of the best facials I've ever had. She spent an hour working on my face and massaging my neck. At the end my skin was plump and hydrated, and I looked so much better. An appointment in the Argentta Spa also comes with access to the pool, hot tub, and a sauna. It's a really nice facility. This is my second visit. Last time I was here, I got a massage. It was excellent as well. P.S. It does seem as if the spa is short-staffed at the moment, but there is no need to let this spoil your experience. Hugely disappointed by the Argentta Spa. As a local, I was looking forward to celebrating my birthday with a relaxing afternoon at the spa. The Spa itself lacks any sort of amenities whatsoever. Hand soap is truly all there is. The woman's changing area was dirty; towels and robes overflowing in the baskets, no hand towels to be found. Steam room broken. Zero ambiance or decor. Front staff was friendly and polite. However, when I asked for some water (there is no water to be found anywhere in the spa area) I was told to go to the fitness area to which the front receptionist led me to. When she realized the fitness center was also out, she walked over and grabbed a bottle that was left on a treadmill. Pool area was depressing and dark. And yes open to hotel guests, which I knew beforehand, but used towels strewn about turned me off. I specifically came early to my appointment to relax. The relaxing area was also dismal and depressing. Zero water or snacks; only a selection of green tea. I again asked a spa employee for some water and I was told that the spa has no water. How is this possible in a nationally recognized hotel? Very frustrating, not to mention unsafe as hydration is essential after saunas or hot tubs and massages. Therapists spoke very loudly in relaxation area; staring at a blank gray wall and hearing staff chat, with zero magazines or water is unacceptable for prices guests are paying for their treatments. The massage itself, as other reviewers stated, just felt like someone lathering lotion on me; no technique or seemingly any care to attention. The entire experience was a joke and hugely disappointing. Spa website is very misleading and prices for services are seriously inflated. This review is for the facility use only as I only visited for amenities (approx $40) and did not recieve any services. And on this visit (Jan 5, 2020) the sauna was broken. The spa pool, sauna, and jacuzzi are shared with all hotel guests to include children. There were several kids doing cannon balls into the jacuzzi and swimming in the pool... not relaxing at all. There are no separate facilities other than the steam room and bathrooms (lockers, showers). I was excited to visit this Spa. It was a last minute choice for my birthday and I assumed it would be nice since they have highly publicized this major renovation. On the surface, it looked okay and smelled spa like but it ended there. There was no hot water in the showers and I ran them both for several minutes. The steam room was nicely steamy but the paint on the ceiling was bubbling and peeling. The light right outside of the steam room was hanging. The place was dirty... used towels thrown around, used robes left in open lockers, paper on the floor, open water bottles around the facility, etc. The toilets weren't clean either. They do not provide toiletries like other spas. No razors, q-tips, deodorant, brushes/combs, etc. Bring your own. There was one bottle of lotion and the body wash was empty. Not that it mattered as the shower water never got hot. Robes and slippers are NOT included either if you're only using the amenities. Anyway... I saw enough and couldn't stay long. I'll be returning to the Gaylord or MGM as theirs cost a bit less and you get a much nicer, more relaxing, children free experience to include the use of robes, slippers, hot water for showers, tea, coffee, snacks, lush blankets, and more. PS: I have nothing against kids. I have 2. But at the spa, I want to escape from children. The good news is, you can bring them if that's your thing. read more

While I live in DC and think going to the Watergate is a bit inconvenient (they have free valet service though), I have to say that their spa is lovely! With a spa appt you have access to the hotel pool and jacuzzi (which is on the same floor as the spa) and both the mens and womens changing rooms have steam rooms. Also, the receptionists (Samantha and Tierra) were lovely and so very helpful (I bought some nail polish and Samantha kindly showed me every color the nail salon has). I booked a facial and for the first time in my life, the esthetician was a man - Michael. I asked Samatha if it was just that he was actually a massage therapist and the only one unbooked. She assured me that Michael was highly requested and only did facials. Much relieved, I went into my appt with an open mind and well, Michael just blew me away. Gorgeous!!! I hesitate to write this review because I really want this place to be my little secret, but I cant do such a thing to my yelp peeps... This spa is gorgeous!! Its the return of the 'true' day spa..there's a pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, and gym that is at your absolute disposal. They offer water, hot tea and champagne, as well as macaroons for your taste buds. The robes are soft and plush, the locker room is spacious and clean, and the staff is professional and courteous. Did I mention that this place is gorgeous?? Honestly, I can go on and on.... The only service Ive experienced here so far has been the Swedish massage, which was superb thanks to Sarah. Not only was it relaxing, but the girl hit all the right spots on my legs (i started running again, so i was crazy sore and tight) without me having to tell here where/what to focus on. #impressed. TERRIBLE experience, but it's my fault for hoping this company would do me any different! My mom has loved and raved about Argentta for years. She told me her last experience was awful, and then my aunt Adunni went a few days ago and had a bad experience as well. I booked here for a birthday massage before I head out of town hoping to get a good Argentta experience my mom used to tell me about (and of course experience the amenities). My masseuse literally text me 50 minutes before my appointment saying "they're moving my appointment to the next day." I didn't see the message until I arrived because it's my birthday and my phone's obviously blowing up! This was horrible. I get there (bc I didn't see the text) and it's NO one at the reception desk, sit there for about 7 min and no one still came to the reception desk. I then take out my phone to call and then I see their text. (which I attached a photo of). This was an all time low of professionalism and certainly not what I would expect of the Watergate Hotel! I will be emailing corporate because it's no way this is ok and meets their standards! Imagine this being done to you as a mother of 3 who thought she was about to have a nice birthday away at a Day Spa! I don't know what this spa was like pre-Covid, but it's not ready for prime time yet. No one to greet you when you walk into the basement spa. Just a sign to wait. No one to give you a robe or show you around. The waiting room is not cozy -- all tile and very much a foyer to a pool area. But the indoor pool is really lovely. Right now, this is not a spa, but an underground pool area with massage therapists that are booked online. Although my massage was good, it was a very awkward and unrefined experience. Pre-covid I enjoyed this spa, but DO NOT go now! My fiancé wanted to treat me for my birthday thinking this would be the best given that I'm fully vaccinated and have been in the past. Nope - they are cutting corners at your expense. The poor guy working reception told me he was working "the job of 7 people right now- including janitor"...then it turns out he was my masseuse. Upon leaving, he couldn't figure out how to apply the gift card I'd received for my birthday so in his attempts I was charged for it twice...that still hasn't been resolved. He was so stressed he asked me to complain to management about the experience. So here we are...still awaiting a refund and I feel bad for the overworked staff. Also the sauna etc are closed (understandably) so you're paying the same price for a poor experience - learn from me and just do not go now! read more

AMAZING! I came here for my birthday and some relaxation. Yes did I get that while I was here. I had a massage given to me by Jamie. He is an amazing massage therapist. Be sure to ask for him if you decide to book. I also had glass of champagne while I was there along with fruit and a cupcake. A nice touch. The pool, hot tub area and changing room areas were awesome! The hotel itself gorgeous after the renovation and reopening. I will be back to check out the whiskey bar. read more

Overall a good experience. Reception leaves something to be desired. We got down to the basement and indicated we had an appointment later but were going to use the pool area. The receptionist said okay, but did not look up from her computer or give us robes. Okay, thanks. We found our way back to the locker rooms and went swimming. The pool area, hot tub, and sauna were all fantastic. Very relaxing. Unfortunately the steam room was broken. As I'm readying for my massage in the locker room, I see the receptionist pass by with a robe and slippers. I then hear her ask another woman (whose locker broke and who is waiting for help) if she has an appointment. When the woman says no, the receptionist leaves. I assume she was looking for me and try to follow her through the maze that is the spa. I eventually reach reception and try again to check in for my appointment. The receptionist finally hands me the robe but appears annoyed and says she was just looking for me (as if it was my fault that I didn't look enough like a customer for her to hand it to me when she saw me in the locker room!). Then she tells me that any lockers in the locker room with a sticker (half of the lockers) are broken. Would have been nice to know that when we initially came in and used lockers for the pool! Would be even better if there was a sign so everyone knew. Anyway, once we got situated, the massage was great and Jane was excellent. Lovely relaxation area in the spa as well. read more

I and my friend had a Spa with deep tissue massage. We had a really good deal from Travelzoo. Irana was very helpful. She had our reservation in the same time. She was definitely a highlight of the experience because she was very courteous. Karen was led us to a women's changing room to get into our robe, towel and sandals - this room was wonderful! We had our private locker space too. Our masseuses came to greet us - My masseuse was Jamie - and he was absolutely fantastic. After an hour massage, we went to relaxation room. We spent some time in the relaxation where they had refreshments, such as bottled water, water station infused with variety of fruits, teas and macaroon. After 30 minutes in the relaxation room, we then went to the pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room. We used all of them. All the amenities were awesome. I really liked their shampoo and conditioner in the shower area. Smells great. Overall, Argentta Spa is very clean, calm, serene, and the decor is modern yet understated. My husband scheduled a massage at Argentta Spa for my Mother's Day gift. I went the Saturday after Mother's Day and had an enjoyable experience. Valet parking is complimentary which is a necessity in the area. I was immediately greeted inside the hotel and directed to the spa. I was immediately greeted there as well and given a consent form to complete. I was shown through to the locker rooms and told to enter the relaxation room (aka waiting room) when I was ready. I thought the amenities (pool, sauna, workout room, etc.) seemed nice but I didn't use any of them, although did have access while I was there. No time limit was mentioned like at the Four Seasons Spa, which is 3 hours if I remember correctly. The locker room was not as nice as the Four Seasons and the complimentary items in the locker rooms were also not as plentiful (soaps, lotions, etc.). The robes were equally as comfy though. The relaxation room here was more luxurious than at the Four Seasons with mood lighting, soft music, and lounges. It was confusing if a seat was already occupied or if it just hadn't been cleaned up yet since there were full champagne glasses on a number of chairs. My masseuse, Sarah, was very calming and relaxing. I felt her massage was sufficient but I did enjoy the one at the Four Seasons more. I thought that one was a little more aggressive and firm, but both were great. I also appreciated the complimentary champagne I enjoyed after in the relaxation room. The Argentta Spa is not cheap-I believe my massage was over $200 for 50 minutes. Oh and they add gratuity (either 15 or 17% on to the charge). This was nice for a treat, and I'd recommend visiting to anyone looking to splurge. read more

Arrived 45 mins before and no one is at work. Cleaning lady said they don't open until 11am when my spa appointment was scheduled for 10am. No one was there to provide a locker, nor share about the amenities they have. Poor service and poor experience. Will not be coming back. read more

I took a friend here for a birthday spa day and it was a nightmare. No staff greeted us at the front desk. The facility was dirty. There were no towels available. The steam room was broken. The massage therapist never took us back for our massages. We did not receive a massage which was the entire purpose of the day. Additionally, I was charged full price for two massage treatments when I was told I would only be charged for a deposit. Currently, I have not received a refund for the two massage treatments we obviously did not receive. I would not recommend this spa to anyone. read more

Most of the lockers were broken, poor housekeeping (there were dirty towels on the floor and fresh towels were rarely seen), and for an expensive hotel/spa.. they use cheap hangers. Luxurious feel, lovely amenities, but couple of things that should be addressed- I would bring a swimsuit to this spa since the pool, jacuzzi and sauna is co-ed. Co-ed space: Saltwater pool is great. Goes to until 5 ft deep which is deep enough for short little me. Jacuzzi is nice and warm. The first time I went, they were having problems with the jacuzzi pressure shower heads and it was taking awhile to turn on. It eventually turned on as I was about to leave, unfortunately. Sauna is not hot enough, just lukewarm unfortunately..but spacious. They are also two open showers if you want a quick wash. Locker room: Both times I've gone they had issues with the locker keypads. I recommend they renovate the lockers with new keypads for security reasons. Also, there was a leak in the ceiling where the hair driers normally are and the drip drip drip hitting the metal can did not match the luxury spa experience. The benches seemed to be covered with wet and used towels, so I wish they cleared the benches more often. My sister mentioned that their spa supplies are less than what other spas provide such as combs/brushes, cotton pads, and feminine supplies. The spa does have shampoo, conditioner, body wash, Q tips, mouthwash, hair spray, and body lotion so plan accordingly. I dont remember if they had razors since I bring my own anyway. The locker room has a steam room as well which is really nice and hot. I love it. Like other reviewers mentioned, they have a machine for your swimsuit to dry which is so so useful. Relaxation Room: I like this area except the noise level is off the charts when staff speak to each other since the area echoes. I want to relax and sleep, not listen to your chatter/laughter. They provide tea and lemon/lime infused iced water. After your treatment, they usually give you 2 macaroons and champagne, but they ran out of macaroons which was sad and it was 1:45pm :/ Treatment rooms: I agree I can hear out into the hallways, so I did appreciate when my therapist put on some soothing music to cover the background noise. I would recommend noise insulation for the treatment rooms if they ever plan on renovating. Exercise room: Never used it, but it seemed very spacious and packed with useful equipment. Bring work out clothes! Appointments can be a bit finicky since they may call you to reschedule, which happened my first visit, but they were very accommodating when I had a last minute emergency and needed my sister's appointment pushed, so thank you! Pricey, but if you can stay a long while for the amenities, it may be well worth it. read more

Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. I've been to several spas - I have never had to ask when the appointment is going to start. Especially for an early morning appointment . Therapist apparently running late but no one notified.I spent the morning arriving early and finding parking apparently in the lot they don't validate (no one bothered to mention where to park or that they validate valet when booking it) . Such a bizarre experience. Have had a better etiquette experience with nail salon massages. read more
