I tried to give this place one last chance before I wrote this review. I went here a few months ago and the lady was just rubbing oil all over me and not massaging me. This time I asked for hard pressure and to focus on my lower back. She did neither. When I went to pay, the lady working at the front desk saw my tip of $10 and proceeds tells me that the tip is 30% (she may have meant 20%) and asked if I wanted to add $5. I said No, the massage wasn't that good. I thought to myself--she better be glad I left a tip at all. Horrible massage. If you are looking to relax this is not the place. I received the recommendation from a close friend. I have visited twice. The place feels cheap, but clean. Sheets are thin, walls are not to ceiling. I have had massages at the best spas all over the world, this was the worse. The only reason I continued to patronize was their walk in availability worked for a quick fix in between my regular massages. My first massage was by a woman, it was adequate but not amazing, no lotion and hot stones. The second massage was better but again not amazing. The last massage was my final straw. A man did the massage. He was unprofessional, strokes were unconnected, his technique lacked knowledge of the body and he did things I've never experienced in a massage like stuck his fingers in my ears...that was the final straw. I ended the massage and as others have posted was still asked to leave a tip. If you go do NOT let the chubby man with big fat fingers and no massage experience touch you. read more

I was looking for a massage while staying in Arlington. This place was very close, the lower rating concerned me, but as I read some of the lowest reviews I saw it was more related to a tip request then the quality and price of the massage. I tried and was very pleased with the massage. It was a very good firm massage. The masseuse did an excellent job working the knots out of my muscles and the hour long massage including hot stone and hot towel treatment. At $75 plus tip I thought it was a great deal. I had a 30 min deep tissue massage. Lisa was really great, amazing. It was my first deep tissue massage and didn't know what to expect. WOREST MASSAGE EVER!!! I literally just got in my car.. first the walls don't go all the way to the ceiling and it's a curtain as a door. I could hear EVERYTHING that's was going on, from the dell ringing every time someone came through the door, the phone ringing, and even the pain of the next guy in the room next to me because of the "massage therapist" roughing him up.... I had a male therapist(he never introduce his self). Majority of the massage was through the sheet even after I expressed to his that it was uncomfortable! It only focused on my back. I get massages ALL the time my ex was a massage therapist, so I can definitely tell that this guy wasn't license and haven't been to massage school. All he did was poke, rub, and beat me to death. I had to tell him to stop several time because he was hurting me. It was the longest 60mins of my life!!! When it finally was over and I walked out to pay(even though it wasn't even worth $1) I had him the $60. The he have a nerve to ask for a tip!!?! Then some lady come from the back and say "tip" like I didn't understand the first time... I then proceeded to let them both know how dissatisfied I was. And he told me but he worked hard.. The worst customer service , specially Tina , she is rude, unprofessional !!!! During my Last massage someone was walking and talking outside to the point I had to stop my massage and ask the lady to go outside and tell her to be quite but then I find out her name is Tina and everyone is afraid of her !! Great massage at a good price! Mei worked on my shoulders and neck like I asked and she did a great job working the rest of my body. The wife received a massage at the same time and she thoroughly enjoyed hers as well. The massage was decent enough, but I found it very odd that they don't use any massage oil on your body and almost the entire massage was done through a sheet. The prices are a bargain and the therapists do good work. Be aware that if you ask hard pressure (which I got and will get again), you will get a sharp elbow hard into your muscle knots. I was able to make an appointment a few hours before, and it started on time. My masseuse was a really nice lady, who did apply a lot of pressure (despite asking for medium). I was kind of grunting in pain and she didn't let up till I explicitly said "that's enough". I think her rationale was my back was REALLY tight, which it was. She made the right call, because my back felt like jelly after and my back pain was gone! Another issue I had was the walls didn't go all the way up to the ceiling, so I heard people getting massages next to me. Thankfully, it was a slow day and everyone was very quiet. Nobody talks during massages anyway. Though that pressure was slightly unpleasant, it was still a relaxing massage and I was quite sleepy towards the end. Jenny did great deep tissue massage with me, she applied nice pressure on the places I needed most and it relaxed the stiff areas of my body. Save yourself! I just left feeling horrible. Went in a room barely covered by what appears to be a window curtain. Could see inside every room. During the massage, the lady (who was almost certainly not professionally trained) talked loudly to another person who worked there- shouted to her at one point- and left the room several times for several minutes at a time. There was an extension outlet directly below my face while I was on the table which is just not safe! After it was over she left the curtain to the room OPEN, for all to see me! Due to the exceptionally bad experience I chose not to tip. She insisted on 20% tip and in a moment of weakness I gave her $5 and she was extremely upset. I left shaking. It was horrible. read more

I've been a valued customer for probably 7-10 massages. I live right next to the place, so it's great. They have reasonable rates and you get what you pay for - ok massages. However, this review is for my last massage I got - the last one ever from this place. It was around 7pm Sunday and there was only one woman manning the desk. I asked if they were busy and could take a walk in. They could. She led me back to a room where I prepared for my massage, again this is my 9th or so massage here. Then, they pulled a switcheroo and sent some strange man into my room! He said "ok ready!?" I'm like dude, no. You are not doing massages. You are wearing jeans, a grungy shirt, and have your work keys clanging around on your belt loop. It was clear to me that they were under staffed and he was just trying to fill in. Maybe he gives good massages, I have no idea. But if they would like to ask "are you comfortable with a male or female masseuse? " it would be a huge help. Not a switcheroo. So I told him I'm more comfortable with a female around close contact with my body. He acquiesced and said oh, ok. Well then somebody came in, and it was 100%, totally, abundantly clear that she had zero energy or effort to give a massage. It was completely lazy. She would push on a part of my body then just...sit there. Maybe hoping I fall asleep. She was clearly watching the clock. I have sympathy for the person, but not the company. If they have crazy hours until 10pm on a night, they need to be giving massages worth $60 until that night. This was terrible, I was just laying there like oookkk....is this is the massage? So lesson learned. Go when they are somewhat more busy or earlier so that they are not running out of people to give you a massage or they haven't worked 12 hours straight. (again, I feel bad for anybody that is overworked in that business. Tough stuff!) Also, you should call ahead and specify that you feel comfortable with a male or female masseuse. Went with husband to get massage,not asking for a couple massage. We were happy; ny husband who is always picky loved his massage. One of our best in a while,- very professional. I would rate higher but I was turned off by a message on my voice mail telling us our therapist "not interested in taking us," we were about 5 minutes late but we did not expect to get stuck in marathon traffic. I arrived for my 60 minute massage and within the first 10 minutes the women had left the room 3 times to deal, I am guessing, with other customers!! I have gone to Sunshine Massage a couple times. The good part - you can get a same day massage for a reasonable price. It is an adequate massage, DEFINITELY not the best massage in the area. After my massage today I paid the bill and added a very adequate tip, based on the skill of the therapist. The massage therapist and the desk clerk pointed to a sign that said minimum 20% tip. My tip was 18% (again, more than adequate based on the therapist skill). I asked if a tip was required, the desk clerk told me it was. I explained that a tip is at the customer's discretion... based on the service and that if they "required" an increase in tip, they needed to increase the cost of the massage. I tip is the customer's choice. She continued the argument for 2-3 mins. This discussion ruined the entire experience - I will not return. read more

Great, very firm massage. I slept wrong and my neck was killing me so I randomly stopped in. They got me right in and worked out the kinks in my neck and back.
