Luxurious feel, lovely amenities, but couple of things that should be addressed- I would bring a swimsuit to this spa since the pool, jacuzzi and sauna is co-ed. Co-ed space: Saltwater pool is great. Goes to until 5 ft deep which is deep enough for short little me. Jacuzzi is nice and warm. The first time I went, they were having problems with the jacuzzi pressure shower heads and it was taking awhile to turn on. It eventually turned on as I was about to leave, unfortunately. Sauna is not hot enough, just lukewarm unfortunately..but spacious. They are also two open showers if you want a quick wash. Locker room: Both times I've gone they had issues with the locker keypads. I recommend they renovate the lockers with new keypads for security reasons. Also, there was a leak in the ceiling where the hair driers normally are and the drip drip drip hitting the metal can did not match the luxury spa experience. The benches seemed to be covered with wet and used towels, so I wish they cleared the benches more often. My sister mentioned that their spa supplies are less than what other spas provide such as combs/brushes, cotton pads, and feminine supplies. The spa does have shampoo, conditioner, body wash, Q tips, mouthwash, hair spray, and body lotion so plan accordingly. I dont remember if they had razors since I bring my own anyway. The locker room has a steam room as well which is really nice and hot. I love it. Like other reviewers mentioned, they have a machine for your swimsuit to dry which is so so useful. Relaxation Room: I like this area except the noise level is off the charts when staff speak to each other since the area echoes. I want to relax and sleep, not listen to your chatter/laughter. They provide tea and lemon/lime infused iced water. After your treatment, they usually give you 2 macaroons and champagne, but they ran out of macaroons which was sad and it was 1:45pm :/ Treatment rooms: I agree I can hear out into the hallways, so I did appreciate when my therapist put on some soothing music to cover the background noise. I would recommend noise insulation for the treatment rooms if they ever plan on renovating. Exercise room: Never used it, but it seemed very spacious and packed with useful equipment. Bring work out clothes! Appointments can be a bit finicky since they may call you to reschedule, which happened my first visit, but they were very accommodating when I had a last minute emergency and needed my sister's appointment pushed, so thank you! wow wow wow! caveat: i am NOT a spa chica but ive been to quite a few. i love this place so much that im probably gonna be coming again and probably really soon :P i have been meaning to visit the watergate . it is one of those iconic landmarks in dc that , as a washingtonian, you never go to. the bar was on my bookmark list but it was the spa that really got me to come over services 1. ab tonic wrap: i have never tried it so i figured it would be cool to try out. ludmilla was very friendly and explained every step. if the effect is lipolysis, i will have yet to see it but i think it was fun thing to try. i might be inclined to try another full body wrap in the future just for sh!ts and giggles. ludmilla gave me some french macaroons and champagne. ludmilla is my bestie now :) 2. sports massage: excellent! jamie, my masseuse,(is that not pc to say anymore?? whatevs) was super good. its one of the best ones ive ever received and definitely the best i received in the DMV. every single knot and tense spot is now magically gone and now im back to my back, no pun intended! i noticed right away and its helped my swimming performance quite a bit. oh and, more free champagne! the facility this is the MAIN reason i will come back. i was here for 5 hrs but tbh, i could spend even more time here. this place is the most obvious in-your-face oasis in dc that i can find. i should smack myself for not coming here before. in fact... i just did sauna-excellent hot tab-wow, it had recliners and pressure showers to use on your neck and shoulders steam room-excellent pool-great, its not deep , and not huge , as in 15 m length but its plenty to just stretch off and relax, especially after the sauna relaxation room-excellent, its actually a soothing experience and very private, the tea here is amazing, i wished i stayed longer to try them all, but alas, my bladder would protest. my fav was the tropical staff everyone was excellent, EXCELLENT! they really are customer service driven and it shows change room very clean...no immaculate. the shower was spotless. they have great products for washing up and plenty of towels the lockers are the code kind . so you dont have to carry a key which is pretty much the norm at most spas i have been to. so think this is another plus price be prepared to spend $$$ if you are frugal-minded like moi, it might be a turn off. however that will quickly fade once you experience what this place has to offer. at least it did for me which is why im in love with it... parking they validate up to 3 hrs and after that , it is 12 bucks flat. so feel free to stay for another 10hrs or sleep here overnight ! i did a lyft and it would have been cheaper if i drove my butt over but i was tired from working overnight and this made sense for that trip. i think in the future i will likely drive overall: excellent spa with great staff. i WILL be back! read more

I had a great experience at the spa today. I used the jacuzzi and steam room before my services. The lounge area inside the spa is so soothing and calm and they have a nice array of refreshments for you to enjoy as you wait. My facial with Ludmila was excellent. She made sure I was comfortable and relaxed, and after my facial she helped me out by suggesting products for my specific issues. She even gave me a six day supply of samples to try first since they aren't cheap. My only complaint is that she didn't use those hot water arm sleeves that some spas use. I carry a lot of tension in my hands and arms, and sometimes it's all I can focus on when the rest of me has been relaxed. My massage with Tiara was also great. She checked in with me multiple times to make sure the pressure was right, and again, the ambiance was super conducive to relaxation. I didn't check the reviews on Yelp but should have. The facilities were pretty disappointing. No hot water in the showers. The steam room was broken. There were no towels available. When I mentioned it to the person working the desk, they said the hot water hasn't been working for a while. For $400+ for massages, a heads up would have been nice. Not worth the money for having to get dressed and go to dinner cold and half covered in massage oil. read more

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G spa experience here. I was fortunate enough to score a Travelzoo deal, which really was more like a steal given the normal price for a massage. I booked for a Friday evening as a way to end a long week and I cannot stop raving about this place. The staff were amazing. From concierge (shot out to Julia and the lovely guy from Brazil) to the therapist (Jamie and Sarah), everyone was so caring and attentive, making me and my friend really really happy. The staff made me feel like they had a vested interest in my relaxation. Service- I had Jamie for my massage and he was very thorough. Stop reading this and book asap! I get massages regularly but Jamie really paid attention to places most people rush through like the hands, the neck and the scalp. He applied pressure in the places where I was the most tense and left me feeling like I could do a back flip with no pain. He also gave me the best scalp massage I ever had. I literally told my friend in the relaxation room after my service that my head was so relaxed from the scalp massage I could probably think of a few multi-million dollar business ideas. My friend also raved about Sarah, saying she gave an great massage as well. Facilities- OMG, I can't say enough. From the minute I walked in I felt special. The place is sleek, modern and makes you think "I'm somebody" as soon as you get off the elevator. This place has a well equipped gym, pool, jacuzzi, steam room and locker facilities. The bathrobe was to die for! It was soft and plush yet lightweight. I am still searching the internet for an option to purchase because I need that robe in my closet. I also appreciated that the locker room was kept at a higher temperature, you know like they anticipated that you'd be walking around not fully clothed and wanted you to be comfortable (big plus for me here). The relaxation area was also comfortable with individual chaise chairs. While in the relaxation area I had champagne, tea and macaroons- talk about feeling like I was in heaven lol. I did a few laps in the pool, hit the jacuzzi and steam room while I was there. I honestly didn't want to leave but the spa does close at 9 and it had to happen. My suggestion come here with the mindset to relax and spend a few hours. My massage was fine but the customer service and ambiance was pretty bad. I arrived 30 min before my appointment thinking I could relax a little. The sauna and locker room were closed bc of covid restrictions. I was allowed to use the pool but it was already at capacity due to hotel guests. There was nowhere to go and no one at the front desk. Finally someone arrived a few minutes before my appointment. After my massage I asked to use the shower in the massage room bc of all the oils but was told I couldn't because the next appointment was staring. Came here for a 90 minute couples massage and left feeling so relaxed. It is pricier than most places in DC, but very worth it. You get access to their entire spa while the day you're there for your treatment, pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and gym. Before the massage they have a relaxation room for you to sit and have water or tea while you wait. Our massages were completely customized for us by our masseuses and did a mix of deep tissue and Swedish massage depending on the area. By the end I was so relaxed I fell asleep for a little bit! I had the best time at Argentta last night at their pool party. Staff was excellent, loved our drinks, great music and vibe. The space is beautiful. My only complaint is I have a horrible sore throat that began about six to ten hours after I left, and now I have a headache (24 hours later). My two friends feel totally fine today, so it may be unrelated, but I did want to share on here in case something is up and it can be fixed. I called to book a prenatal massage using a travelzoo deal and they told me I would have to pay an additional $80 for essentially less services. No champagne (and no champagne substitute), no hot tub, and, lets be honest, we all know the massage is not nearly as good since a maternity massage is a glorified rub down since we can't lay on our stomach (not the spas fault, of course). Recently I visited Argentta spa for a 50 minute Swedish massage and plans to spend a couple hours relaxing afterwards in their pool, sauna, steam room, etc. The experience was 5 stars. My massage was by Yemi, and it was fantastic. She was very kind, professional, and detail-oriented. She listed to my requests, ensured the pressure she used was to my liking, and went above and beyond to to use the time wisely to do a balanced full body massage. Afterwards, I spent 4 hours in the spa in the various pools, sauna, steam room, etc. I was never rushed, there were always fresh towels, the staff was wonderful, and it was truly a relaxing afternoon. read more

Booked two customized massages for my SO and I here. Was difficult to find at first since I didn't see any signage going into The Watergate Hotel so we did have to ask someone and it is on level B3 of the hotel so select that when you get to the elevators to save yourself a little time. The lady who checked us in was very pleasant and funny thing upon check in was that the fire alarm to the hotel went off. Honestly, sh*t happens and it was out of their control, however we felt bad for these two poor ladies who came out in their robes likely either at the end or middle of their sessions, but we told them they now have a funny story to tell. We went outside and the entire hotel staff was apologetic to everyone, but it was rather quick and maybe a 5 minute wait before we went back inside. Again, I felt bad for those ladies in their robes so I can't complain since our service hadn't started and the receptionist ensured we would still receive our full time for our massages. Now, let the luxury commence. There are two separate changing/locker rooms with digital locks and a robe, towel and slippers inside. Let me just say that the Robe gave me life. I need to find it and buy it, never had a Robe so luxurious and comfortable. They were made for the 2017 presidential inauguration as there was an emblem for it on the Robe, but I'm still on the hunt. Locker room had plenty of towels, lotion, mouthwash, Q-tips and two showers. Loved the AG shampoo bath products as they smelled heavenly. One thing to note that I completely missed was that the steam room was in the locker room by the showers so the steam rooms are not co-ed and within each locker room. After getting into robes, I met my SO in the relaxation lounge that had an inviting line up of lounge chairs while we waited for our services. I had some fruit-infused spa water while waiting. That stuff is so easy to make, but can elevate any situation in any atmosphere in an instant. My SO had Jamie and I had Tiara for our massages. Both were amazing and made us feel so comfortable. Tiara really focused on my upper back pain and it was one of the best spa massages I've ever had. Afterwards, they brought us each a glass of champagne and tasty macaroons, which I pretty much ate on my own. Then we went to change into swimsuits and met up at the pool, which you can use for the day as a spa guest. OMG, the amenities are where it's at. We did rounds at the Sauna, Whirlpool and Saltwater Pool (if you look close, you'll see there's flakes of salt in the pool, fricking amazing!). One reason I chose this spa was because I could spend a few hours with my SO enjoying the coed amenities. Lots of other places separate the amenities and if I'm having a couples spa day I'd like to you know, spend it with my partner. We took our time enjoying it and no one bothered us at all. Took a shower at the end and they have this little machine you can put your wet swimsuit in that spins and dries it so you can put it in a bag and not have to lug around a soaking suit. Loved these details. Sadly, left my robe behind, but had an exquisite Spa day for the books. It was $$$, but well worth it compared to all the spas I've been to. read more

The facilities are very nice and I loved the massage that I received. Theresa is an excellent massage therapist. I generally don't like being offered additional services while in the room, but was offered a back scrub in addition to my massage and since it was needed I agreed, but I would actually prefer to have been asked up front when I checked in. However, a few reasons why they didn't get 4 or 5 stars: - The music throughout the whole facility is just TOO LOUD! When in the treatment rooms, there is a battle of chill house from the hallways and classical in the room that is utterly NOT relaxing. The fact that spa personnel cannot control the volume is ridiculous and this really detracted from my experience. - The front desk staff member, should have a better attitude, not refer to the massage therapists as "masseuses" and be sure to provide a complete tour to new clients. I had to ask where the steam and sauna were. She just seemed extremely snotty as if she was not really interested in assisting. - While I was waiting for my therapist to retrieve me from the relaxation room, the same front desk person came back to inform me that I had to get up right that second to lock my locker again since she had to reset all of the locks for some reason. I was a little taken aback, especially when I was trying to relax, only to go back and check my locker which was STILL LOCKED. That was annoying and when I came back and let her know that my locker was locked, there was no apology or anything for my inconvenience. Again, annoying and a crappy attitude. - A quick note about Theresa, my massage therapist. SHE IS AMAZING! I appreciated her pleasant attitude and soothing voice. I read about this spa in the Washingtonian and other publications and they received a very favorable review. Honestly I don't know how that's possible. On my first trip my locker was broken in the locker room and when I walked the mile back to the front desk to report it, the woman continued to try to tell me it wasn't broken. Until she tried it herself and realized I wasn't joking. There were no towels in the locker room to shower and when I ran into a maid I asked her for one and she flat out said no. I asked if she could go find one and she said no. I went out to the pool to steal a towel and there were none out there either. The lounge is not tranquil and I had to deal with a group of women and then a couple talking loudly. The area's ambience is also very dull and not reflective of the prices they are charging. The locker room is as small as an ice box. I almost got charged for parking by the valet even though this is free when visiting the spa and had to argue with the guy until he realized his mistake. And lastly when I checked out of the spa, the woman did not give me a receipt of my charges nor was she going to email them to me. I had to ask for this. I complained to the manager of the spa and she initially responded to my email and asked for a time to call me. The spa manager Halle never called me back like she said she would. Finally the manager of the hotel got back to me after I complained to him since clearly the spa manager didn't care and he invited me back to try to gain back my trust. I reluctantly agreed and I asked to use my already purchased travelzoo facial on the weekend and a complimentary 110 massage. So all the spa had to pay for was the massage. Tierra from the spa booked my treatments and said I was good to go. This was after Halle also confirmed the treatments. When I arrived I was told I was getting a 50 minute massage and Tierra never mentioned anything about changing my massage time. I just left. This place is an absolute mess. They have no idea what's going on, how to treat customers, or correct mistakes. Absolute waste of your money. There are plenty of top notch spas in the DC area and this definitely isn't one of them. read more

My gym has better facilities - Don't get my wrong, I love my gym. But one of DCs's alleged top spas should not have lesser facilities. My massage wasn't good. I am not exaggerating when I say that my therapist used his forearms and elbows 95% of my 80 minute massage and his hands 5% of the time. But that is not the reason for the poor rating. The women's area has two showers and two toilets. During my 2.5 hours there I saw at least twenty women run through there. The entire spa and pool area was dirty - random hairties everywhere, hair on the shower wall, dirty towels and robes literally everywhere, dirty cups and empty water bottles throughout the spa and pool area. My spouse reported the same in the men's area. I can only assume that all of the favorable reviews and articles I read prior to booking were paid for. read more

I really wanted to like this spa, and set aside a day to celebrate my 40th Birthday with a gift certificate given to me for my birthday. The services were great, and all went well until I was faced with a cold shower at the end of the day. The acting manager left by the time I checked out, and did not stay to rectify my bill given the situation. I also spoke with the the hotel front desk, and while the director of guest services listened to my concerns, I never received a follow-up call. My mom and I had an early birthday celebration here, and it was amazing! We each had a facial and massage, and it was very peaceful and relaxing. First off, the tube is the most soft, plush and comfortable robe I have ever worn. I highly recommend asking for Jamie for the facial! He was very personable and knowledgeable. My face felt moisturized and not overly greasy afterwards. The treatment also included a shoulder and neck massage, and brief foot and ankle massage which was an added bonus! I also liked that that they don't try to sell you products. Tiara was my massage therapist - she was also great. She she was very considerate of my comfort level (pressure and temperature of the table). The massage was head to toe and really allowed you to escape and relax. The spa treatment also includes use of the pool, sauna, and hot tub. The pool is luxurious, refreshing, and indoors. Showers and bathrooms are kept spic and span and have all the necessities there for your after shower needs. I cannot wait to go back! The spa also validated parking in the hotel. Had a lovely day at this spa thanks to a travelzoo deal. It was my first time at the watergate since the renovations and I was very impressed. The positives about this spa are the relaxation room and water features are coed which is great if you are doing couples services. There are a couple of minor details that could be improved like adding more staff so the check in/out process does not take so long, keeping lotion in the changing room, and some small areas that needed repair. Other perks are the showers are infused with vitamin C and the steam room with eucalyptus. I greatly enjoyed my massage and scrub and look forward to visiting again soon. read more

The lady at the front desk was extremely helpful and friendly, however I didn't give 5 stars for a few minor things: 1. The bathroom/women's changing area was messy (toiletry items were strewn across the sink area and someone left a dirty glass there) 2. The shelf in my locker fell down 3. The relaxation room should've been quieter- noises from other parts of the spa carry 4. There are several lovely things to enjoy about Argentta: 1. The pool was not crowded, and a wonderful temperature 2. The lady at the front desk was absolutely wonderful - so friendly, gave a great introduction to the spa, and then gave me a sample of face lotion when I asked her if there was any lotion available after my shower 3. Champagne and macarons were a wonderful touch at the end of the treatment However, the noise in this place carries. I had a treatment in the first treatment room, and I could hear EVERYTHING. Every single time someone clinked a glass, walked through the hallway. Every single conversation outside. I could not relax during it at all. While I enjoyed the facility, I came there specifically for the treatment, and it felt SO disruptive. For the price, I would hesitate to recommend this to someone else. read more

5 stars for Jamie the masseuse! 2 stars for the mani-pedi. Their polish is so old and gloppy (the tech said they have vendor supply issues) that it goes on thick and bumpy and takes FOREVER to dry. I just ruined the inside of a new pair of shoes *and* my new pedicure because - after 2.5 hours - it still wasn't even dry enough to put on shoes to walk down the hall to use the restroom in my office. My service here has been consistently mediocre, and I've been here three times now! I came here shortly after the spa opened with a friend and I was pretty pleased. They had a tiny discounted deal and I was excited to try it out! I was greeted warmly and shown around the facilities. I was impressed with the gym, the large pool, jacuzzi, the sauna, steam room, the quiet relaxation area, and the macarons. My massage therapist was also great. It was relaxing, stress free, super clean, with all the amenities I could hope for. I've been craving the same experience every time - but have always disappointed. I came back with another friend and it was not the same at all. There was no one to greet us at check in so we wandered around a little bit until we found someone. I was also completely startled at how absurdly loud it was EVERYWHERE. The voices of the children in the pool echoed throughout the space and people were basically having full on conference calls in relaxation space (and no one said anything). This time there were also piles of dirty towels in the locker room, the steam room wasn't working, and it all the facilities seem to not really have been maintained in the same capacity as when the spa was first opened. My massage was also completely meh. I pointed out a few issues to my therapist and she didn't really listen or adjust pressure or even focus on what I asked her to! I took it in stride because everyone can have an off day - even a spa! I did mention some of the issues when I left and the staff member at the desk gave us a pass to come back to enjoy the facilities at another time (but that didn't really address the quality of services). I came back yet again after purchasing a travel zoo voucher. The scheduling process was ridiculous. I called and no one answered (and this process happened about 3 times). When I finally left a voicemail no one responded until I asked to be connected to the front desk and asked if they could connect me to a human. I thought maybe the experience would be better if I paid a discounted price and lowered my expectations. It was pretty much the same as my last experience. It wasn't as loud (without the children) but people were still talking in their outside voices in a space that's supposed to be relaxing, there was some overly loud music, and my massage was marginally better but the amenities were still in disarray (dirty, visibility worn, lots of lockers not working). Still really disappointing. When we pointed things out when we were leaving and staff frankly did not seem to care - one staff member pointing out they can only clean so often. Wow. Okay. It just makes me super sad. I had such high hopes for this spa. When you're paying upwards of 200, 300, 400 dollars for treatments you really do expect quality service and excellent ambiance (that is clean - eek). read more

With my fast-paced lifestyle, it's hard to take time to do the things that matter the most - self-care. I was greeted by a beautiful manager(Irada). She set the tone for the whole experience of my facial. She led me to the relaxation room where I waited in a plush robe with a delicious glass of champagne. Because several weeks have passed, I don't recall the name of the of my esthetician as I was in and out of consciousness. He was gentle and so knowledgeable about skin care. My sister and I came to Argentta spa for her bachelorette weekend. We LOVED it! We got a brief tour of the facilities and we're given robes and slippers. The robes are INCREDIBLE. One of my favorite things about this spa. We headed into the relaxation room where there is water & tea. However, we asked if they had Diet Coke instead and they brought it to us really fast with cups of ice (we were huge fans of this!) The relaxation room is really nice IF others aren't talking loudly in the room or in the locker room as the noise travels. Unfortunately, there was a rowdy group at the spa while we were there that made relaxing a little harder. Definitely not the spa's fault but maybe signs encouraging quiet at least in the relaxation rooms would help. We both got the aromatherapy massage and it was fantastic. We were able to choose from 3 scents. The massage was extremely professional and so relaxing. After my massage, Theresa met me outside with champagne. When I called to make my appointment they also told me I would receive macaroons with my champagne but didn't get any. When I asked a staff member she said it is only included with certain packages. So I was a little bummed. After our massages we headed to the sauna. The steam room in the locker room was unfortunately out of service. However, the sauna in the pool area was great!! Perfect temperature. Next we swam in the saltwater pool which was great for cooling off after the sauna. Last was the jacuzzi. The jacuzzi was definitely not as hot as most, but we were okay with it as we could stand to be in it longer than we normally would. Showers are available in the locker rooms so we took advantage of that. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are all included. As well as a blow dryer, combs, Q-tips, cotton balls, etc. All in all we had a great time and look forward to coming back! I even called the next day to ask about purchasing a robe. They said they don't sell them which they should really reconsider... id buy one in a heart beat!! read more

True luxury! For the moment I walked into the Spa, conveniently located at the newly opened Watergate Hotel, I felt pampered and relaxed. The spa is impeccably designed, very sleek and modern, and it seems like every detail was well thought out. Upon arriving, I was checked in for my massage appointment and showed around the spa. There is a gym, large pool, and lovely locker rooms with steam rooms. The lockers all included comfy robes, slippers and towels. Waiting for the massage, I was brought into another room with lounge chairs and warm blankets. They had a selection of teas, champagne, macaroons and water while I waited for the appointment. The massage was absolutely amazing. They use hot towels through out the session which is an added treat. Afterwards, you can lounge on the chairs and enjoy a hot tea. I spent the rest of my time at the spa at the pool and hot tub. Highly recommend this spa- you will leave feeling amazing and relaxed! read more

This is a lovely, modern hotel spa with plenty of amenities. In terms of facilities, you can easily spend a few hours here between the heated indoor pool, sauna, gym, etc. The downside is that this is a hotel spa -- families staying at the hotel use the pool and locker room too. I have young kids, so usually the point of going to a spa is having time alone in a peaceful and quiet setting. My experience may be anomalous since I was there over a holiday weekend, but after an excellent massage from Ashley, it was a little jarring to share the pool with a family with a very loud young child (whom I could still hear after retreating to the locker room), along with other children. Misc. items: 1. validated parking is a big plus 2. the glass of champagne and macarons were a lovely touch, but why no reading material in the relaxation lounge?? 3. Also, the locker room was not quite as clean as I would expect a spa locker room to be -- water on the floor, trash containers that needed emptying. This spa is clearly suffering Post COVID. My wife and I had been hereinto part and had a good experience when they first opened. We thought we works go back a and assumed it would be a good experience like last time. The locker rooms for both men and women were not clean. There was no attendant in the the male locker room and the facility had clearly not been serviced. There were wrappers on the floor, the floor had to be swept, and there was was urine all over the floor by the urinal. I figured maybe they were busy and when I come back from the massage it would be clean. The massage itself was so-so. The massage therapist brought me to the room and and then said she would give me a minute to get settled, but didn't come back for a full 5 minutes. My wife said the same thing happened to her. I shared with her what I thought about the men's changing area and she said the women's was also not clean and mentioned the toilet had not been flushed. After the massage, the men's area was still as dirty as before. There were also no towels there. I had to go request one and the massage therapist gave me one. I asked for another and she had a little attitude but still gave me another one. I later told the receptionist about the place needing to be serviced. She was dismissive and said there wasn't much she could do. I asked if she could give us a discount for the bad experience and she said no (I would have been happy if she apologized and gave us 10% off as a nice gesture- each massage was $180). Because of her attitude, I asked to speak to the manager who was receptive and immediately said he would ensure the place is serviced and gave us 50% off. Took a day to focus on self-care and it was absolutely amazing! Regina did my facial and she was super gentle. Talia gave my massage and did such a wonderful job that I fell asleep and didn't even realize it. I will definitely come again. One suggestion is for the spa to use more air fresheners in the immediate lobby area as there was a strong chlorine smell. Pretty good service. Wish they offered more extensive facials such as Hydrafacial and others (Vampire facial, etc). Also the resting area lacks a view. With the prime location of the Watergate they should definitely offer views of the Potomac from the spa. The spa at the Gaylord at the National Harbor has beautiful views of the river. But overall I enjoyed my spa treatment and my technician was very good. read more

The spa was excellent, from beginning to end. The locker room, steam room, sauna, pool, and waiting areas were absolutely beautiful. They were thoughtful enough to even have soft warm blankets while you wait. If I had had more time, I probably would have taken a nap. My technician, Regina, was also superb, taking time to talk to me before my service. I will definitely be back! One note, they aren't always the best at answering their phones so if you want to book an appointment, I suggest stopping by and doing it in person as their online service is not right either. :) read more

Booked for a couple's massage 3 weeks in advance but received a call the day before(less than their own 24hr cancelation policy) that there was a mix up and they can only offer us seperate rooms. No other offers for another date(or price), nor an apology, were made for the inconvenience. I requested for a cancelation and they didn't seem too eager to keep us as a customer. read more

There is a lot to love about this spa - the facility is beautiful, the amenities are enjoyable, and the massage was very relaxing and healing. However, a couple of details kept this from being a 5-star experience for me. They both involved the relaxation lounge. As soon as I stepped in, there was a really unpleasant odor in the room, which smelled like cigar smoke. It was surprising and off-putting, and ended up leaving me with a headache at the end of my visit. The other issue, which admittedly is not the fault of the management, was the amount of loud chit-chat by the other spa patrons. I got a voucher off of Travel Zoo - I had an amazing scub and massage. My bf complicated my skin afterwards. I really enjoyed the facilitties. I went on a Monday afternoon - and the place was empty. I had the pool, sauna, and jacuzzi pretty much all to myself. The service was extraordinarily friendly and I hope to be back sooner rather than later. read more

First impressions matter. There was no one at the reception area when I arrived and waited close to 10 minutes before someone arrived to check me in. She was apologetic though. Must admit I was able to wander through the spa, locker room, pool on my own while trying to find someone to help me. I was given a brief tour of the premises before being taken to my assigned locker and given a lovely robe. The steam room never worked- even when I asked for assistance and assured it would be ready in about 5 minutes. I even went back at the end of my treatment and it still wasn't working. The lounge was ok and relaxing enough though I could clear hear voices from all around. I appreciate the flavored water and collection of hot teas. My spa treatment was divine and my therapist was wonderful- I would go back to see Maureen again. I must admit I am disappointed by my experience especially given a lot of the glowing individual and professional reviews. From my perspective and experiences at other high end spas in the area, this was just an OK experience. read more

My husband took me to Argentta Spa for my Birthday this month. The check in process was easy (we used a Travelzoo voucher), the facilities were nice and clean and not too many people but it was a Thursday during the day. The steam room in the womans bathroom wasn't working which was a disappointment but definitely not a deal break. I told the front desk and they had a maintenance man there immediately to try and fix it. Now here's where things take a turn for the worst. We were getting a couple massage in the same room. My husband had a female therapist, I had a male. The female overall seemed very nice and accommodating but she wore GLOVES, yes gloves while giving my husband a massage. We've literally had massages all over the world and never had a therapist use gloves. She never even asked my husband if it was ok to use them, what if he was allergic to latex? It seemed odd that you would choose to be a massage therapist but not want to touch people with your bare hands, or at least let your client know you would be using gloves for their session., in which case I'm sure my husband would have politely declined. Now for my massage, I don't normally like deep tissue but I do like a little pressure, but my therapist was literally rubbing oil all over my body, no pressure, no consistency, no method. When I asked him to apply a little pressure he went totally crazy which made parts of the massage unbearable. To add insult to injury he had NO BEDSIDE MANNERS, he barely asked if I was ok, or comfortable and when he did it was very curt and cold. There was NOTHING soothing about my massage. We just expected a little more from such a high end spa. Despite that experience we left a tip but my husband did fill out their survey letting them know our concerns and we never received a response back. So here we are.
