So after working in the city for around 20 years, I decided to finally give the spot known as having the "world famous turkey sandwhich" a shot. Things I noticed when I first when walking in was the staff members greeting me as I walked in. That's always nice. I went earlier in the morning around 10:30 so it wasn't busy at all. Store was pretty clean. Back of the store made me feel a little cramped up but nothing that was uncomfortable or worse than some other markets in the city. Ok this might just cause some chaos and I'm sorry but, I have to be very honest about the sandwhich. I ordered the world famous turkey on a wheat roll (yes I'm that kind of crazy). As far as topping I got the basic stuff lettuce, onion, mayo, mustard, and Jalapeños which I asked for. I found the turkey very dry and lacking the flavor of a perfectly cooked rotisserie turkey. The turkey it was cut off of was sitting on the counter not looking happy. The employees behind the counter were pretty friendly which was nice. The sandwhich was just under $14. The size did not impress me and honestly nothing about it really gave me that "WOW" factor. I'm not a huge believer in "first time impressions" and believe in second chances. My bf and I came here to check out the self proclaimed "world's famous" slow roasted turkey sandwich. Unfortunately, it was so underwhelming, I forgot to take a picture of it. It was a cold sandwich with thick chunks of turkey and all the regular toppings (lettuce, tomato, mayo, pickles, etc.). Decently sized, but could probably go to other deli's for the same sandwich. Not sure if we just got a bad batch of turkey, but we thought the sandwich was a little dry, even with the mayo. The sandwich I did enjoy was their pastrami. i'm happy to see this spot still thriving. as a USF alum, i've walked and driven by this place countless times but probably only came in a few times during my time on campus. i don't remember if i ever had the sandwiches, so i decided to try it out. it definitely did not disappoint. i looove that the turkey isn't your normal sandwich meat but whole, thick slices of turkey. i wish it had a few more pickles and a smidge more mayo (will ask for more next time). you can never go wrong with the dutch crunch roll! my partner got the roast beef sando and it was also pretty yummy. there was no one in line, so we got our orders pretty quickly. i'll def be back to try more things! read more

The little sandwiches here are not bad. There's a wide selection of beer and wine as well as groceries. We like Arguello Super Market because it is conveniently located on the bike route we take from the Richmond to Golden Gate Park. I had their roast beef sandwich on Dutch crunch with Swiss $13.45 and a 19oz IPA $3.25. They have outside tables to enjoy the food. Good: I overall enjoyed the roast beef sandwich - very classic and clean construction. I really really loved the dijon mustard; tied the whole sandwich together. I think if they lean into more sauces, it would really be amazing (mayo, dijon) Bad: For as hyped as the turkey is, I was sorely disappointed by the bite I took of my friend's. I always fear that turkey ends up dry, and this sandwich confirmed my fears. I liked the overall texture of the Dutch Crunch, but it was just a tad too thick to be comfortable as a sandwich.
